I was a lifetime fan - if my lifetime began at 22. And since I am now almost 57, I would say that is a lifetime. I claimed to be his number one fan way way back on my old Dear Daisy Cottage blog. I proudly owned that title in my own mind. I shared my love for his music and for him with my children. I saw him perform in person twice, so that means we were in the same place at the same time, twice. He represented controversy. He also represented kindness, love, and spirit. He was loved and hated. He bloomed and withered. He created and shared. He lived and died. I have cried at his loss and I am one of millions. This is my TINY way of honoring him ... with these images and the music playing - "The Beautiful Ones" being one of my favorite songs of his. We all have artists who have touched our lives. While we may not agree on who we love, we can agree that their lives mattered. As ALL lives do.
It is not how or why we came into this world. Or how or why we left this world.
It is that we were here. And what of ourselves did we leave behind.
I love you Prince. Thank you for the gift you were in my life.
