It has been pretty rainy here, although the sun is shining as I type!  I spent some time with Papa Goose yesterday and he was in a good mood and VERY VERY hungry - ate most of the food that I brought. I always tell him as I am leaving to stay away from bad people, cars and trucks, and scary dogs!  And I always take his picture - each and every time I see him.  This was his portrait from yesterday ...

The Best Kind of Flea ...

 

I photographed the La Petit Fancy Flea for my friend, Lori, on Saturday and as you can see the turn out was amazing! And we even had Marie Antoinette make an appearance!  ;-)  There were so many wonderful vendors, treasures, and people there.  It was truly an outstanding show and I am so honored to have photographed it.  I will be working on those images this week and speaking of images, these images have all been wrapped with loving care and are now on their way to their new homes ...

Thank you all so much for your kind, generous, and always sweet support! I hope to keep painting in the days and weeks ahead and I will share and list on Etsy as I can.

On Etsy

I painted this swan yesterday (still need to sign it) and named it "Free Spirit."

You all have been so supportive and wonderful as I have shared my paintings here and on Instagram and I appreciate that more than you will ever know!  Several of you have asked if I will be selling any of the paintings and I will try to list some of them on Etsy from time to time.  I just put this one and another one of a beach up. Staying Cool

It's still  hot and humid and I am still painting away and trying to stay cool in the summer heat.  :-)

Speaking of cool, check out my new daisy sunglasses that my friend, Lori, gave me!

One Swan Family

 

I've been in love deeply in love with the lake for about five years. I have seen and lived so much and have shared so much along the way. And due to many reasons and scenarios of the city's involvement and care of the swans and their babies, I have never seen what I saw on the lake this evening before.  Or should that say, "I have never seen before what I saw on the lake this evening."  My grammar and writer instinct is muddled in the moment of sharing as this moment was so beautiful. The five Easter babies that my friends and I saw hatch are now "teenagers" and were swimming across the lake with their Mama and Papa. As a family and in harmony. At one with nature and as it was meant to be. This scene right here - moved me to tears.

I am so happy. 

 

It is what I wanted for Little One.  It is what I have wanted for all of the little ones and their Mamas and Papas over the years.  


Sail on beautiful ones.  And may the wind always be beneath your wings.

I'm in the Mood For Blue ...

Do you tend to have color moods?  I don't mean so much as having favorite colors - and we know what mine are - but more like you are in a "mood" for a certain color or shades of that color and you find yourself gravitating to it even if only for a day or two?  Do you seek that color in what you wear? Do you use that color when you play and create?  Does that color seem to pop out everywhere you go and everywhere you are, including the grocery store and in nature?  I find myself doing this a lot.  These past few days I've been in the mood for blue - aqua blues, ocean blues, lake blues, and sky blues.  Maybe it is because it is so hot here and it is a way to mentally cool down? I even painted the little box that holds the flash drive of engagement pictures for my love couple in blue.

Just my random thoughts and wonderings for this early Thursday morning.  I wonder what colors Papa Goose sees?  I know he has moods!  I'm off to see him now and find out what kind of mood he is in .... under the same blue sky I share with YOU.

A Little Red Mumu

Yes Birdie got her a red mumu.  I think all little almost three year old granddaughters need one, don't you?

Hot and Hectic

Forgive me if I happen to repeat an image, or a thought, or anything else that I may repeat!  I am "all over the place" as of late and being so while trying to stay cool in this scorching summer heat.  Baby, it's hot outside!  I finished the wedding images and put the flash drive in a little box that I painted and affixed with their initial.  I also painted a small painting of her wedding dress and bouquet to give the bride to have for a keepsake.  I got teary as I worked on the images of the bride dancing with her father and the groom dancing with his mother.  Moments and love .... forever.   I had a great time taking images of Ashley and her daughter, Leila, for her third birthday and I am currently working on an engagement shoot that I just did for the sweetest couple ever.  I am also trying to paint at least two paintings a day and I make sure to see the swans and Papa Goose every day.

Yes it is hot and hectic but I love love love doing these things.

I Think I Can, I Think I Can ....

You know how it can be some times.....  that inner voice in your head starts to tell you things you don't want to hear....so we must say "Hush!"  And then continue to TRY.... to BELIEVE..... and continue to BLOOM.

I've been practicing and painting and practicing and painting.  And it is so fun!  I think I can, I think I can, I think I can.  

Right Summer Lynn?  Birdie needs to listen to the words in the books that she reads you.
