These are the days of the ducklings! And they are so darling to observe! If you have never had the chance to watch them, I hope that one day you will be able to. Adorable sweetness in the most innocent form.
I also hope you had a beautiful Easter and are having a great week. Typepad, the host of this site, has been down off and on and more off than on since last Friday. I am crossing my fingers that I am able to post this entry! Hopefully things are fixed now....
I have been spending as much time as I can down on the lake hoping to see the cygnets as they hatch. The mama swans are on their nests and some babies have already hatched but I was not able to see them before the city took them away as soon as they had dried off. You may remember that the city raises the cygnets until they are older and then they return the juveniles - that is what they are called at that stage - back to the lake. While I am so thankful and happy the babies are no longer put in the pens where they did not thrive and most of them died, I am very sad that the babies cannot stay with their Mamas and Papas and be free to be a family. The moments witnessed last year when they were able to be together for a few days were so incredibly precious to live for the swan families and for the human families who were so blessed to be there and see. Moments such as this one may never happen on this lake again ...
But as the saying goes, "Never say never" and I pray that one day we will let Mother Nature be.
So yes, these are the days. Days of ducklings, days of waiting, days of hoping, and days of living. Beautiful days underneath the golden rays.
Love you all,
Me
They`re so, so, sweet :)And so beautiful words, Kim :) Txn

Seems such an odd, interfering thing to do. I am not sure that I understand the reason for it. That photo becomes all the more special...

So precious. The babies and their families evoke so much emotion. This makes me want to have my little ones back in time to love them over from my very own nest. I think I would be a better mom, now. But, I still am a mom and I do still love them and always will...

I don't understand -why take the cygnets away? That seems like a cruel thing to do.

I think the little yellow baby is named dolittle! I don't know where that came from but that's what came to my mind!

So wonderful to see what spring brings to us, dear Kim! Every year we can enjoy the miracle of this season, when Mother Earth wakes up from her sleep and brings growth and new life to us. Love your sweet baby duckies!

The ducklings are adorable! I love the second image where the two siblings seem to be sharing a secret.
I so hope you get to see the cygnets as they are born. And, yes, the image of the swan with her babies is even more precious if that is possible.

That swan family picture is my absolute favorite picture of yours. I have it on my computer screen. It gives me such pleasure to look at it all the time.
