It was the first Monday of the month and Wesley, Daisy Cottage's "bug man" was here to spray so that all the icky and scary Florida bugs stay away. "Bug Man" is so not a good description, however, for this very kind man of few words who has been taking care of Daisy Cottage since we moved in 8 years ago.
We will chat a wee bit about the weather and our families. He is a husband and father to girls and a religious man. Yes, the conversation and the visits are short but they mark the passage of time - in such a quiet, dependable, and somehow comforting way.
"Have a happy Thanksgiving Wesley," I said as he prepared to leave.
"I will. You do the same," he replied.
"It is amazing that it is almost that time again, isn't it?" I added.
"I know it. It really goes by fast now," he replied.
"Yep. They were right - all of those who said it would," I agreed.
"Yep they were," he said as walked out the door. "See you next time."
I locked the door behind him and yes, I feel comforted by that. Comforted in knowing that, God willing, I will see him next time - the first Monday of the month, and always right on time.
The days and years do tend to flow together and time does seem to speed on by. One day we wake up and wonder how did we get here so fast? I think that is why I adore photography SO much... whether I am clicking with a camera or a phone - it captures the split second I am seeing. And living.
And cherishing.
Yeppers... random images and a conversation. Thank you for letting me share all of my randomness with you. I love you my friends....
