Feathered Friends
A few days after Shawn returned home from Afghanistan, we walked down to the lake so he could see his feathered friends that he had left behind. While several of them, including Yeti, are no longer here, many still are -including Peeps, the female goose who was raised by Australian swan parents. Anyway, as Shawn fed Peeps that morning, a new feathered friend came up to him and made herself very comfortable on his lap. She munched on cracked corn until she was full and then went about her merry way.
It was so sweet.
But that is our lake.

Little Snippets
Little Snippets of random. :)
I have been cleaning and playing and gathering pumpkins and will continue to do so until I am pumpkin satisfied. ;-)
Summer Lynn loves all of the doggies but Marley is her favorite. She lights up with him ... perhaps it is because of his extra big kisses. Bentley is a tad jealous of her while Miss Maggie always tries to curl up on her lap. Every day around 2 p.m. Bentley assumes his watch dog position on the green sofa as he awaits the arrival of the mailman. He loves to be the one to alert the other two that he is here and then all three rush to the door and bark ferociously in symphony much to the mailman's delight. For real. He is the nicest mailman. No barking dogs are going to bother him. He merely smiles at silly them through the front door and then goes about his delivery day.
I am still collecting vintage floral prints and paintings to go around the red dresser. I hang them as I get them - enjoying what is there and not worrying about the end result. A work in progress ....
And speaking of a work in progress - well that would always be me.

Let Her Eat Cake!
Our Summer Lynn turned one! And no matter the rain that came, there was no stopping the sun ... or the fun on her special day. She was such a good girl! She was so who we now know her to be. She has been on this earth for twelve whole months and there is no one else in the world like her - but of course - just the way God intended for each of us to be.
