I was driving home from the bookstore with my new magazine and a couple of books that were on my wish list when I saw this sunset happening to my left. I pulled into the nursing home parking lot and took a quick pic with my phone. As I got back into my car, I noted that there were wonderful balconies for each nursing home apartment but none of the residents were on them.
A glorious gift from above was happening and not one resident was outside to see it.
As I put my car in drive to head on home, I could not shake this image out of my head.
I think I will call the nursing home tomorrow. If they need someone to sit with their residents so that they may see a sunset, I can do that.
It is the very least that I can do.
very nice idea!!!

That is a gorgeous sunset! Perhaps they need a poster of it in their lobby... ; D

Kim....you would be amazed at the number of people who just need someone to take the time and sit with them. I learned this from spending time with the residents when my mom was in her final stages of Alzheimer's. I saw her every day, but most of the folks never saw a family member again after they were "dropped off"....so very sad. It's a lovely gesture.

What a wonderful thing to do! So many of them just need a little help to once again enjoy the beauty which surrounds them!

What a glorious sunset. So thoughtful of you to share it since many of us miss these gifts by being indoors.

Such a nice idea. I have several people I visit in Nursing Homes and have done it for years. Sometimes they get into such a routine of doing the same thing they forget how wonderful it can be to be outdoors and enjoy nature. Being someone to encourage them to go out and then go with them. would be such a wonderful gift to give. You will be blessed. Beautiful picture as always:).

You are not only an inspiration with your pictures but also with every word you write.
