To Everything There is a Season

I am quoting myself here.  When I worry that I am sharing too many swan images or not enough of other images I remind myself that this little site of mine is for me to share in the way that I described above.  I thank you for knowing my heart and for stopping by - always in support of me and whatever season I may be in.  You being here makes all seasons sweeter and brighter.

Speaking of seasons, I have taken thousands of swan and baby swan images this year.  I have so many to go through - needing to decide which ones to save and which ones to delete; which ones to share and which ones to print. Many of my captures are fuzzy and a little wonky and many are perfectly fine as taken.  But all of them represent a split second in time that I was blessed to live, not only beside these amazing creatures, but beside some amazing friends who share the same passion and love for nature as I do. Friends named Barb, Linda, Rob, Jess, Susan, and Cindy.  There is a bond formed that hopefully lasts forever when miracles have been witnessed together.

I have debated whether or not I should share with you about our cygnets' journey this season and I have decided that I will.  For those of you who have traveled with me the last few years on this swan path you know that the city in the past put the mama and papa swans, along with their babies, in the pens for protection from their natural predators and the human predators who may bring them harm.  Last year, even though penned, we had no surviving babies so the city decided this year, in the hope of a better success rate, that they will raise the baby swans at their off-site facility until they are old enough to be brought back to the lake to live in their natural habitat.  So far all of the babies are doing well. Therefore, the babies are only with their parents for a few days before they are taken away. 

There are no words to accurately describe how incredibly ethereal these swan families are when they are together and free to be.  And the babies with their enchanting curiosity and lilting innocent peeps are the epitome of what is needed right now in this crazy world.

To everything there is a season.  

And sometimes the season is only a moment in time and never to be again.  

And that is why I click and click.  

And share.

How sad that there were no surviving cygnets last year and now the sweet babies must say goodbye to their parents. As heartbreaking as this is, may these babies grow into lovely swans.

I have many of your pictures hanging through out my house and they remind me that there is sweetness in the world, especially when things may seem so sad. I also love to go back through your blog and look at the swans and listen to your music. I don't think you could ever share too many swan pictures. Oh my! I would never have guessed that the cygnets are removed from their parents. I'm placing human emotion on it, but it just doesn't seem right. It is always a pleasure to see what your camera has captured. My husband just left and then returned having left his cell behind. The moment I heard his tread on the stair, I turned the screen so he would see the first photo. He left with a grin on his face. I think many of us leave your blog wearing one.

Sometimes the things you see fill your heart and soul so much you just have to share it. It is like you are trying to take everyones hand and say "see isn't it beautiful". I was standing in the yard tonight looking at the moon. It filled my soul so much I had to do a blog post on it. I so wanted everyone to feel what my heart was feeling.
