Feeling Blue
I am in love with these blue vintage curtains that my sister gave me! She found them at a yard sale and thought that maybe I could use them in the guest room and I could BUT I think I want to use them in my office. They are so pretty and I want to bring a wee bit of blue in here.. I think.
;-)
Speaking of blue, our Miss Maggie is feeling a little blue because she hurt her little foot somehow. I think it is because she kept following me up and down the stairs when I was working on the guest room, but I don't know. Hopefully she feels better soon and I am sure she will.
In the meantime she is getting lots of kisses.

Wonderful Weekend
It was such a wonderful weekend. Our neighborhood had its annual home and garden tour and while Daisy Cottage wasn't on it the event motivated me to spruce up the porch and front garden so she would be welcoming to all of the guests that passed by. The weather was perfect for the event and it was so wonderful to see our very own sweet Gail and her beautiful family again!
And it was wonderful to see our precious Carly again too.
Marley couldn't stop kissing her ...
It was a wonderful weekend indeed.

"C" is for Carly
The linens are washed and the room is clean. Thumbelina is comfy on Shannon's childhood wicker rocker but I forgot to take a picture of her. So this is how the guest room looks...for now.
Yes "C" is for Carly. Hmmmm.... I think I want to collect every letter of the alphabet for future guests.

I had Summer Lynn for the day today. We visited her great grandmother and we walked and we swang and we rocked and we ate and we slept. She is such a love! So so patient with her Birdie as I clicked away.
And I promised her after she gave me this look that I would take her bow off and we would play.....

Reflections
When our sweet Tonette asked me if I would write an essay about the loss of my father and how I dealt with that grief, I said that I would be honored to do so.
I sat down at my computer and typed away the words and thoughts as I felt them and then attached them in an email to her. I am sure that there are a ton of grammatical errors but I am okay with that as what I wrote was literally straight from my memory and heart to her email inbox.
I admit I shed a few tears as I reflected on that time. I held back much. There is so much more that I could have shared.
But I shared what I could.

Finally ...
I am finally back to playing in the guest room. Bentley was my helper today. He is very excited because Shawn's fiance, Carly, MAY be able to visit us this weekend! ☺
I am not sure the direction this guest room is going to go decor wise but I think my Thumbelina and Nancy Drew books are right at home here, don't you?
And I may spray paint the metal bed yellow or green or pink. I want to add vintage pillows and linens and hang art on the walls. It will come together in due time...... in my own quirky way.
But of course. ;-)

A Tisket A Tasket ...
Sweet Goodwill Easter baskets!
I used to have lots of pretty Easter decor when the children were little but apparently I must have given most of it away over the years as I am not finding any of it in my cabinets or closets! And since we have a special little someone who will be celebrating her first Easter this year I want to do some happy Easter decorating - but of course! I went to Goodwill yesterday and found a couple of baskets and bags of paper grass so that is a start. I also found the chocolate ceramic bunny there. The adorable salt and pepper chick shakers are from Pottery Barn. Aren't they cute? I look forward to playing more with Easter decor in the days ahead.
And speaking of cute, I hope YOU have happy Easter decorating if you do so too.
