A Season
to everything there is a season,
a time for every purpose under the sun.
a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to pluck up that which is planted.
ecclesiastes 3:1-8
And they so love their Papa. And I know you love him too.
And speaking of beautiful - there is NO MORE BEAUTIFUL goose in the whole wide world than him.
We love you Papa Goose!

Question: Are these goslings if their parents are geese OR is their father a goose and their mother a duck? Am I splitting hairs? =D
The sun is so pretty and I am glad that things have settled down there a lot. The sun shone here today for the first time in a number of days. It's been very sweet, though I've had no darling fuzzy little birds to enjoy.
Let's see....their biological father is a duck, just like their mama. A muscovy duck. He is nowhere to be found.
They don't stick around. These are muscovy ducklings.
Papa Goose, however, is the REAL father to these babies. He is with them every second... from their hatching. He is defending, protecting, loving, and also considers this Mama Duck to be HIS mate.
It has been so magical and amazing to witness. Everyone here on the lake is in awe every day at what Papa does.
:-)
I am so happy that our sun has been shining down on you too.
That is so neat that he has literally adopted this little family of fuzzy fluffs...I always learn so much watching the creature world. Instinct is so STRONG! ;-) AS mamas we say to our kids many times, Go with your GUT feeling...maybe we are just saying "follow your instincts..." (as these mamas teach theirs by modeling that behavior.) HUGS to you Kim!! Always leave my visits here with a smile. LOVE LOVE those Roses you posted earlier. Beautiful!!! God is amazing.
I'm glad the storms have passed and calm has been restored once again to your lake. What is the geometric design that the little duckling is pondering? I noticed a close up of it in a previous post and have been meaning to ask about it.
