While Maggie was once again hunting for lizards in all the wrong places, Bentley had his game on...
And sadly for the lizard Bentley scored ...
(his "catch" who he brought to the back steps has been edited out out of respect for the poor lizzie)
Today is Bentley's first birthday.
Happy Birthday Bentley!
And yes, indeed, you ARE The Lizard King.
♥
My dachshund, Oliver, looks just like Bentley. I've never seen another puppy like Ollie so it's so fun for me to see your pictures. Aren't dachshunds the greatest?! I sure do love mine :)

What a handsome boy he is. Is it good to be the lizard king? I think it would be very, very good in my world, though I'm not sure in yours. Clever telling of this story...still chuckling over Maggie looking in all the wrong places.

We have the same situation in our house but with cats. I only let them out when I am with them so I get to see the action. I have a new teenage cat that I just fostered and decided to keep and then I have an older pretty fat tabby cat. You would think the chubby one would not be fast enough to catch the lizards but in a week the ratio is about 5:1 of lizards caught with the big one winning. And why do they always head right back into the house when they catch one? I usually find them and throw them away (poor dead things) but yesterday my husband found one of the carcasses in the washing machine. When all the fun is over I tell my dog to go find her brothers and she herds them into the house. Pets are so much fun. Still loving your pictures of all the critters.

Happy Birthday Bentley!! Kim, I have to say, I wish I had Bentley around my house. I have lizards in the back yard and they are creepy to me, so having Bentley would really ease my mind. He could chase them away. I love him so. Please give him a hug for me on his birthday.

LOL that is so cute...and I say that if you are quick enough to catch a lizard, you get to keep it for a birthday gift! ;)

Happy Birthday, Bentley! Loved the comment
about Maggie "looking in the wrong places."
Maybe Bentley can give her some pointes.
