It was early in the morning and as I was sipping my first cup of coffee I received a text from my nephew asking if I could please give him a ride to work. Happy to, I quickly got dressed and picked him up. As we chatted on the way I thought how blessed I am to be ABLE to take him to work and that we have this little bit of time together.
Well since I was already half way there, I decided to go on down to the post office to get my mail even though I had no make-up on and I hadn't bothered to brush my hair.
Waiting for me in my little mail box was a card from Sarita - a long time family member of Dear Daisy Cottage.
I opened her precious handmade card once I got back to my car and read her sentiment inside.
And me being me.... my eyes welled.
I decided to drive home with the windows down and the sunroof open even though it was already warm and muggy. And I decided to take the back way home.
Along the way, I smelled the wonderful fragrance of freshly cut grass; saw mothers pushing their babies in strollers around the lake; witnessed a daddy holding his son's hand in a school crosswalk; watched a motorcycle rider give the hand sign of brotherhood to another rider; and heard the birds sing their good morning songs while I was stopped at the stoplight.
It was a beautiful ride home.
It was a BEAUTIFUL morning.
A chain of events... moments that might have been missed... and kindness from a far away friend who I have never met.
THANK YOU SARITA. YOU ARE SUCH A BEAUTIFUL PERSON.
AND THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU WHO HAVE TAKEN THE TIME TO STOP HERE AND GIVE SO VERY MUCH TO ME WITH ALL THAT YOU SAY AND DO. AND YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE.
Yes in every ordinary day there are a thousand miracles indeed.
And YOU are one of them.
Love,
Kim
having something wonderful happening on an "ordinary" day is so special.
and im so happy for YOU that your dear friend thought of you and turned an ordinary day into something special!
and nothing better than children with their mommy's and daddy's - freshly cut grass - and your "babies" out on the lake enjoying their moment! and sharing it with you! :)
and even better ~ sharing a little time with your nephew! how lucky he is to have an aunt like YOU! :)))))
all on an "ordinary" day! hugs, linda

We just have to look for them. I found out this morning that my dear neighbor has lost her fight with cancer. She was 84 and as independent as they come. It was her friend who has taken care of her that told me and our 30 minute conversation allowed HER to tell me about my neighbor and relive their last few weeks together. I only hope two strangers can have such a conversation about me when it is my time.

Thank you, Kim. I surely needed that today. Yesterday I was looking all around for Hummingbirds to do a post soon, and then I went shopping and saw a card with a Hummingbird on it saying 'Thank You.' Then, when I went to my blog, I saw a new follower, and as I went back to follow her, I noticed what her post was about - the Hummingbird!!

What a lovely turn of events!! Like my dear Mama used to always say, "You just never know what's gonna happen when you get up in the morning!" I totally agree - God puts miracles all around us if we open our eyes to see them!
