So yes, I hesitated.
And then I had to decide.
On whether or not to share here that ....
Our newest swan baby passed away Friday morning.
I decided to share.
This site reflects the images and thoughts as I see and feel them thus I had to share.
So yes, sadly.... oh so sadly, he did pass away. He was going to be released into the lake to his life and freedom but was found dead in the pen instead.
And I don't know why. Did someone feed it something bad? Was it an act of nature? Was it an accident?
I wish I knew.
Two other swan babies from another pen WERE released to the lake and their freedom... happily... blessedly and so beautifully. They are doing fine!
But not the ones that we fell in love with. I am so sorry that they did not make it. Thankfully, however, Little One's gray sibling that was taken away early on is doing well! He is being raised elsewhere and will be brought to the lake when he is full grown.
So this may be the end of this baby swan season but not the end for my babies.
Scratch that.... OUR babies.
THEY WILL BE REMEMBERED.
Little One and ALL of the little ones who once shared this earth with us will be remembered. We can keep their spirits alive by yes, simply, remembering them.
And honoring their short little lives with the realization that miracles need to be seen while they are in front of us TO SEE.
For we never know when we will see them again.
So in honor of our new baby... here are my two favorite images that I took of him.. yes you have seen them before.
But I think he deserves to be seen AGAIN.
I love you my swan babies. 'Til we meet again.
