Romantic Prairie Style Book Giveaway!

 

 

Well of course you all know of my great admiration, appreciation, and affection for my dear friend Fifi.  What she means to me cannot be described in words.

 

Her BEAUTIFUL, SOULFUL, AND INSPIRATIONAL book, Romantic Prairie Style is everything Fifi and more.  The homes that are featured are breathtaking and the families and animals heartwarming.  I am cherishing my own copy and I want to give away one to YOU in honor of Fifi and all that she means to so many of us.

I asked Fifi a few questions about her experience in writing Romantic Prairie Style ....

 

 

1.  What has been the most surprising thing you have encountered during your book journey?

Though I already knew from experience how helpful people are when we shoot their homes, it was even more so this time around because these particular homeowners were so tuned in to the book specific lifestyle. Their belief in the lifestyle, the way they demonstrate it in daily occurrences and in the manner in which they set up their homes was the affirmation that made my heart sing.

2.  What part of the process did you enjoy the most?

The fact that each of the homeowners became friends ends up being the best reward.

  

3.  What did you learn about yourself as you produced and wrote the book?

I had to learn to have some balance as this kind of work requires complete dedication. Did I find that balance? Nope. This time around (working on book 2) I must find a way to pace myself. That's the challenge!

 

 

I cannot wait to see what she creates with her second book!

The current issue of Romantic Country is not only exceptionally beautiful but also Fifi's last one to produce as editor.  You may read more about her news here.  I am so honored, again, to have my work included in this issue and will forever and ever and I mean EVER be thankful and grateful to my dear friend who believed in me four years ago when we first met. 

 

Also, I will be celebrating her beautiful new book with a giveaway soon!  I have one on its way just for you. So please stay tuned for that.

Happy Birthday To Me & A Giveaway!!!

Oh goodness!  Where oh where oh where do the days and years go??  No matter how much we TRY to stop and pick the daisies and to breathe in the moments, time has a way of slipping by doesn't it?

Today is my birthday.  Happy Birthday to Me! And please allow me to celebrate this day of being on this gorgeous earth with YOU!  Not only am I celebrating my birthday, but I am also celebrating the latest issue of Romantic Country magazine because it is not only beautiful and inspiring as always but I have a few stories in there too!   Woohoo!   AND Daisy Cottage is so very honored to be featured in the latest issue of Cottages & Cabins!  SOOO EXCITING!  I am over-the-moon thrilled.

To celebrate, I'd love to give away a copy of each magazine to one of you along with one of my aprons and one of my red mirrors!

Enjoying the Moment & A GIVEAWAY!!!!!

Once upon a time, oh let's say WAY back in November, I was sent by a VERY SPECIAL SOMEONE to a BEAUTIFUL store in St. Cloud, Florida.

I had the honor of photographing Vintage Soul for Romantic Country magazine.  The lovely and VERY talented owner's name is Debbie - you may visit her here.  While she describes herself as an "old soul," I must tell you that she also has the SWEETEST soul.  What a joy it was to work with her that day.  I will remember her warm personality and her dreamy store forever.

 

 

Not only did I have the opportunity to photograph Vintage Soul, but I also had the privilege of writing about the store and Debbie's gorgeous creations too ...

Now remember when I went to Mount Dora - when was that... oh yea, that was in November also ...

Well there were SO many treasures to be found and I was able to photograph AND write about the antique market for Romantic Country and it is in the new issue too!!!

I was SO excited to work on these two stories.  And that's not all...

In December I had the most wonderful and INSPIRING time when the same very special someone sent me to the home of Laura DellaPorta so that I could photograph her home studio and lovely creations for Romantic Country.   

And I was given the wonderful honor of writing her story too and it is ALSO in the new issue!

Laura is beautiful, inside and out, and a VERY creative soul. You may get to know her more here.  Speaking of "energy" - the energy in her studio is AMAZING.  I wish I could have taken all of you there with me.  It was, indeed, magical.  And so is she.

So, yes pinch me please!!!  Do you know how excited I was and AM to have been given these opportunities?  

After I finished the above stories I was given another FABULOUS assignment to write.  I was to write about this ADORABLE California designer and her gorgeous home ...

My story is on page 56 of the new issue!

Yes, it was a busy holiday season as I know it was for each of you too.  And I am so very excited about this new issue of Romantic Country because it is the first time that I was able to contribute as a writer, a photographer, and as a stylist.  ME?????  Seriously - ME???????

NEVER EVER EVER give up on your dreams.  NEVER EVER EVER let someone tell you that you can't do something or won't be able to do something.  NEVER EVER EVER think that you are too old to accomplish something that you'd like to do.

I owe these wonderful experiences and opportunities to my dear friend and mentor, Fifi.  And you know that because I've told you this over and over again, but I can't help it - it is true - I owe everything to her.  She's one of a kind - she's truly amazing.  She is one TALENTED girl.  And no one works harder than her.  If you haven't visited Fifi yet, you can do so here.  Please stop by and say hi - she will love to meet YOU.
