Let Your Home Be Your Heart

  • What I hope for my readers and for all keepers of the nest, is that they embrace their homes with their heart and all of the passion that it holds. I want them to know that they can decorate on a limited budget by seeing things in new ways; by rescuing the broken and transforming the ugly. I hope that they flaunt their favorite color and decorate their life with it. I hope that their homes feel like one giant hug that welcomes them each and every time they walk through their front door. Dollhouse Christmas

I have done a wee bit of Christmas decorating for the dollhouse.  Not too much, but that's okay too.  The mantel, just like Daisy Cottage's mantel hasn't been done, but a few presents have been wrapped, the stockings are hung, and the tree is decorated!

Oh and I made a few window curtains too out of vintage hankies that I had on hand.  I don't sew, so I simply hot glued them together and added some ribbon and trim.

Cozy Coverlet

Isn't this so sweet?  

I got this coverlet, matching shams, and the round white pillow from one of my favorite Etsy sellers.  Claudia's handmade creations are so endearing and every little stitch is exquisite.

My dollhouse bedroom is very happy.  And so, apparently, is Maisy.

I hope she doesn't drink my coffee.  I need it as I have been blessed today with a scratchy sore throat.  Maybe I should take a nap in the dollhouse bed?  Move over Maisy, I'm climbing in....

And speaking of NICE - dear Michele of Ohio found these two little cross-stitched hand towels at her church bazaar and thought that they would be perfect for my dollhouse and of course they ARE!!!!

This little girl is the brand new resident dollhouse doggy.  I thought she was going to be named Little Maggie after our doxie diva, but NOOOOOOO - our Miss Maggie is insulted.  Yes - INSULTED.  VERY insulted.  She said no way - she said she absolutely does NOT look like this ...

I told Maggie that was fine.  And that I would ask you for name suggestions.  (Yes she is spoiled and yes she always gets her way)


SO - pretty please with lots of Milk Bones on top - what shall we name our Daisy Cottage Dollhouse dachshund?  


I'll pick one of your suggestions - and in the meantime I'll try to get something done around here.
