I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day! I had a beautiful one and it was so nice to spend time with my family and of course to embrace the sweet little moments ...
I'm going to be taking some time away from the blog to completely clean Daisy Cottage from top to bottom, go through drawers and closets, and hopefully get caught up on some things around here that I have been neglecting.
And maybe even cook a little more too.... ;-)
Before I go, I wanted to tell you that our swan babies and Mama are doing beautifully!
And while I may be home scrubbing away, I will make sure to visit them every day! :-)
'Til next time ...
Thank you for being such a beautiful light in my life.
xo,
Kim
See you soon.

Just the idea that someone I know lives within a daily visit of SWANS is one of the most enchanting things I can think of.
We're doing up the living room and sitting room today, with new covers, the Summer pillows, and the new pair of Spring-themed parlor lamps which were in my Easter basket.
Happy Cleaning!

Happy cleaning. I know you will feel much better after it is done.
I keep avoiding cleaning certain things like you mentioned drawers. I find it very difficult getting rid of some of the clutter which are really sentimental things.
It's only so much we can keep without limiting space that we can put to better use.
See you soon

Dear Kim,
Your home is so adorable, as are you! I love seeing the photos of Daisy Cottage. Your nest is a reflection of the beautiful love that lives within it. "She loves me, she loves me not....
"----the daisy picking always ends up on "SHE LOVES ME" at Daisy Cottage! Enjoy giving Daisy love and attention on your break. She will reflect that love by shining even more brightly. We bought our new home in Washington State a year ago, and I am now beginning to paint and personalize a little more...Southern gals have always got to have their color, ya know? It doesn't take but a year to need to reorganize...and I am starting to go through some of my closets and drawers, too. Our homes are always a work of love in progress... Enjoy having the time to get a few things accomplished. I look forward to your return and will miss you! Love always, Kim xoxo
p.s. I LOVE the photo of Maggie at the door...so cute!

Kim,
I discovered Daisy Cottage about a year ago on a rainy day in autumn. My mom had died just a year before, and I was in search of a place to rest my aching soul. I found it here... and I have nestled myself in the comforts of Daisy Cottage... like a cozy and fluffy patchwork quilt. And the music...Moonlight Serenade...Theme from a Summer Place... Moon River...Over the Rainbow...reminded me of home.
As I came through the doors, I knew I was home. Daisy Cottage...if you could have wandered through the membranes of my mind over the past 40 years of my life...you would see that here is where my heart has yearned to be. I have dreamed it over a thousand times, I am sure. Your beautiful photography... is reflective of how I see life...mismatched china...colorful materials...your personal touch - the giving of yourself. Thank you.
I understand crossroads. I am there myself. -- Enjoy your time away to reflect and dabble in those things that pull at your heart strings. Take time for you. Cleaning house and going through drawers, I feel, is less about dust bunnies and more about reflection. Cry a bit, laugh a lot, make scones and sip hot tea, journal and recharge the batteries of your heart and soul. I await your return...as so many others.
God Bless You, my new friend. Thank you for sharing you.
