I took my love, I took it down
Climbed a mountain and I turned around
And I saw my reflection in the snow covered hills
Till the landslide brought me down
Oh, mirror in the sky, what is love?
Can the child within my heart rise above?
Can I sail through the changing ocean tides?
Can I handle the seasons of my life?
Mmm, mmm, mmm
Well, I've been afraid of changing
'Cause I've built my life around you
But time makes you bolder
Even children get older and I'm getting older too
Well, I've been afraid of changing
'Cause I've built my life around YOU
But time makes you bolder
Even children get older and I'm getting older too
Oh, I'm getting older too
Awh, take my love, take it down
Awh, climb a mountain and turn around
And if you see my reflection in the snow covered hills
Well, the landslide bring it down
And if you see my reflection in the snow covered hills
Well, the landslide bring it down
Oh, the landslide bring it down
lyrics by Fleetwood Mac.
photo by moi. taken through brimming tears that I held back 'till another time when I shall let them spill and spill and.... well YOU know.
I so love you Shannon. No matter the veil... no matter the dress..
YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL. AND YOU ARE READY.
Always,
Mom
You're one blessed Mom.

I can remember when I went to the House of Broel in New Orleans to buy my wedding dress, the second one I tried on was *the one*....my mom clapped, and my aunt cried like a baby.
My aunt is usually very stoic.....
Dear Husband and I just celebrated our 23rd anniversary last week, and I hope your daughter is as happy as we are!

Oh, how lovely, Kim! She's so beautiful, and I can see why you're crying sweet tears.
Much love...
XO,
Sheila (hope you are okay from the storms that hit Florida... my neighbor had a tree come down, but it missed our house and took out part of the fence! Scary stuff!)

Sweet Ricki Jill.... it is bittersweet isn't it as we remember the moment when WE chose our own wedding dresses? Shannon tried on MANY but ended up choosing the very first one she tried on.
Sweet serendipity. And I wouldn't want it any other way for her.
Love you,
Me

Crying real tears with you. The post is so beautiful. Your daughter looks so much like you. The wedding day will be a beautiful one for sure.
Always, always, always love your blog even though I don't comment often.....you are such a blessing.

She's beautiful. Isn't it so a joy to see them in the gown they know is perfect and they just know it. I made my daughter's veil.
It is so bittersweet when they grow up and move on. But just remember she is bringing you a "son". My daughter's marriage ended in divorce but her ex is still like a son to me. And their marriage gave me my adorable grandchild.
Its okay to cry, it's what we mommas do.

Been there, done that 8 times...it brings the tears every time, but the grand children to come heal all the tears! ;D

How lovely Kim. I to remember when my daughters chose their wedding dresses, as with mine. So long ago but yet so near. My girls are now in their 40's been married so long and I, well, hubby and I celebrated our 45th this past December. May your Shannon celebrate her marriage that long with all of God's love HE gives.

She looks just like her beautiful mother...I remember the day my oldest daughter tried on her dress. I have a pic of her standing in front of a mirror and a man just walked into the room and his mouth is gaping open and we knew it was the one. Lol (Too funny)It's hard, but exciting at the same time...Congratulations!

And the other song is Where are you going my little one,
little one. Turn around and you're tiny, turn around and you're grown, turn around and you're a young maid with babes of you're own. From Fiddler on the Roof and I love it dearly. Enjoy and may your new life be as full as it has been. She is beautiful!

Love that song (love me some Stevie Nicks!). Beautiful picture. I lost my mom last September. One special memory that stands out is the day we found my wedding dress - and my mom cried.

Knowing that your Mom thinks you "are ready" is such an important thing for a young woman to know before she says, "I do." I wish I had heard those same words from my own Mother. Way to go, Kim. You are a wonderful Mother and Shannon is enchanting. I wish her all the best and thanks for sharing this special time with us.

Beautiful young woman! They do grow up on us! Love the lyrics! So funny, dear husband and I took our new ski & fishing boat out today, and rode around all afternoon, listening to our Anne Murray and Connie Francis cd's Memories flooded me of our water sking days when we were younger. When sons stood on in front of dad on his skis when little. When they learned to ski and now my grandchildren sking and wake boarding. So many memories and memories still to be made. Love from OK, Cindy

Kim:
Beautiful daughter , she is lucky to have such a great mom.
We gave our daughter to a handsome man 4 years ago!
They love each other so much , who could ask for anything more! She will always be our little girl!
We raise them for this moment, they have their wings and
now they fly! Does it just seem like only yesterday she was still a little girl? Enjoy all the wedding planning!
It is so much fun! Have a great week!

The photo of Shannon is beautiful; it is almost as if we are silently there watching as this moment between the two of you transpires. "A picture is worth a thousand words." She is so beautiful and she is yours. Always will be heart of your heart and your little girl in all of your memories. What a special time for your family as she begins the next chapter in her life. She has had a wonderful example in you; a lovely pattern to follow. Wishing God's precious blessings and love on the bride and groom as they begin their lives together.
