I am so excited for Saturday to come! Why? Because of this ...
Remember the fun we had the last time we went to the flea?
It promises to be BEAUTIFUL weather and I promise that The Fancy Flea is going to be beautiful too! It will be held in downtown Lakeland, on Kentucky Avenue. I will be there somewhere - enjoying the sights and the fresh air and spending time with my friends. I would LOVE to meet YOU, so please say hi if you see me. I will be hanging with Lori, or Cindy, or Jill, or Mary, or Yvonne, or Erica, or ....... ;-)
I stopped by Lori's this morning to take a few photos of a teeny tiny sample of what she will have in her space. I got a peek at some of her painted furniture pieces.... and I wanted to bring EVERY one home with me. Sigh. Gorgeous gorgeous, and I mean GORGEOUS colors. She will have all kinds of goodies as will ALL of the vendors that will be lined up on our also gorgeous downtown street.
There will be something for everyone and lots of places to sit and eat and take in the sights. I truly can't wait.
I also can't wait to tell Vivian that she won a copy of Where Women Create!
Congrats Kim, I am so happy for you, how exciting and thanks for putting some sunshine in my day everyday when I log in. And tell Maggie congrats too. I think I may subscribe to this magazine, I have never seen it before, in the stores. Thanks again, Viv

Thank you dear Vivian! Thank you VERY much!
And thank you ALL so so so so much. Seriously. You KNOW that without YOU I wouldn't have been featured in this awesome publication. It's a "we" thing here. You and me. I wouldn't want it any other way.
Love you all.... and I hope that I get to see some of you on Saturday at The Fancy Flea!!
xo,
Kim
Congratulations to Vivian!

Imagine all the stories within each of those items! Happy family holidays gathered around an ornament-adorned tree, secrets told to a beloved doll...
What a fun source of inspiration on many levels!

I wanna come too! That does sound so wonderful to me..have a great time. I was looking though a thrift/antique store the other day with my girls and I was telling them about you and your taste for home decor and they could not believe that a younger person would love older things...oh, they have so much yet to experience in life don't they?! LOL

Oh how I wish I could be there, Kim. When I planned my fall trip to Florida, I checked to see when the flea was going to be held, but I was unable to get away from work this week. It looks like such a fabulous event.
I look forward to seeing it through your lens instead. Have fun! La

I also love the yellow dresser but don't have a square inch for it, oh, and I'm several hundred miles away, too.
You certainly make me wish I lived in your neighborhood. You have the best neighbors, wonderful homes, and alluring events in the area, I'm a bungalow and large front porch person.

I wish I lived nearby to attend The Fancy Flea! I spotted that box of Shiny Brite ornaments and had a flashback to my childhood. My parents still have some of those ornaments that are placed on their tree every year. Congrats to Vivian!

Sure wish I could come! But Florida is a long ways from Oklahoma. (Sigh) Wished we had good flea markets here, but do have a fantastic antique store. Hope you get to take lots of pictures! Which reminds me I told my son, since my grandson would turn 13 in June, I'm paying for them to fly to Disneyworld and stay a week. Have been socking money away for this special birthday. Thanks Kim for all your pictures. Love the yellow and the red seatee. Cindy Okla

Oh....dreaming here! If I were walking with you in the "fancy flea" I would quietly walk straight to those cute little chickens and I would whisk them quietly to the cashier before anyone else saw them...

The Fancy Flea sounds just like my kind of place! Wish I could go, too. If I lived in that area, I'd certainly make a point to go. Although, my favorite antique shop is having their second anniversary this weekend with beautiful antiques and free food and music to boot. Guess where I'll be? :) I love reading your blog and will be back soon.

i think i need that yellow dresser...my sister lives in Clermont, i live in PA..i do not think it is too much to ask a sister to go to Lakeland, purchase said dresser(s) and then bring them up to PA in time for Christmas....right?
Have great fun on Saturday, cannot wait to hear all about it!

Planning on coming to Lakeland tomorrow with dh for a walk around. He has no idea of the Fancy Flea. SURPRISE for him. You may recognize us as an "older" couple (hate it but it's true) with an oversized Papillon named Frisky. Mostly white with brown markings. Would love to meet you.

What a delight to meet you today. Sorry to interupt your conversation. Lakeland is such a beautiful city and I thoroughly enjoyed my tour of your neighborhood. I am trying to convince my dh to put a screen porch on our new house to give it some character. It could have some real Craftsman charm with a little work. Fancy Flea was fun, fun, fun. I am going to work on my own little business and try to create some goodies and enter your Spring Fancy Flea. BTW here is my NJ blog that reminds me of "home" http://cass-thatoldhouse.blogspot.com/

I haven't been around to visit you for awhile and I was reminded of your wonderful blog by Donnie who you met today at the flea market. She and I share the same name and a great friendship so I'm glad she sent me back to visit you again. Take care, Donnie2

Oh how fun! I went to a flea market yesterday morning. My cousin got there before I did and called me to let me know he found some Shiny Brite ornaments for me :o) I saw the box of them in Vivian's booth and oooo I'd love those! I've got some out in a bowl on the buffet next to a tiny pink Christmas tree (yes, ALREADY). I can't wait for Christmas so I can load up a tree with all the lovely vintage treasures.
Blessings,
Tracy
