What I hope for my readers and for all keepers of the nest, is that they embrace their homes with their heart and all of the passion that it holds. I want them to know that they can decorate on a limited budget by seeing things in new ways; by rescuing the broken and transforming the ugly. I hope that they flaunt their favorite color and decorate their life with it. I hope that their homes feel like one giant hug that welcomes them each and every time they walk through their front door. More than anything I want everyone to have their own home-sweet-home dream come true! xo, Kim

Thank you for the air that I breathe and for the moon and the stars and the night.

Thank you for the sun and the clouds and for the day's radiant light.

Thank you for the ground that I walk on and for the land in which I play.

Thank you for the food that nourishes me and the shelter where I stay.

Thank you for those who dearly love me and hold me oh so tight.

Thank you God for this day and for my being precious in your sight.

Amen.

Happy Thanksgiving, my friend. You have made my life a bit sweeter, helped me reach for more in and out of my home - your blog was one of the first I found and one of the first I read each day! Joey sends Thanksgiving wishes to Maggie. He will be served a 'new' doggie food today - called 'Thanksgiving Dinner'. Found it at the groomer's store and thought he needed something special. He says if Maggie could drop by he would share with her!

I am thankful for the commitment and consistency with which you post on your blog. I'm sure it is a challenge sometimes to get to it. But ever since I found you. I come to get my fix everyday. Funny how God continually gives us things to be thankful for and to bless us with-- if we only just open our eyes. Funny how that works too, we see more and more of what we do have and less and less of what we don't. When I see Maggie "praying" :-), I think of my little Mimi (cat) that went home to be with Jesus right before Thanksgiving in 2002. The thing that got me through my grief was talking about her to everyone and thanking God for her and recalling all the funny things she did and how she loved me so much. When my little Mimi was sick (with kidney disease), I used to sing to her: Yes Jesus loves Mimi, the Bible tells me so and she would purr so loud. Really. So, it's no stretch for me to believe that Maggie really is praying, maybe for all of us (and God is shining down on her with His glorious light) XOXO

Oh what a lovely poem! I had someone in line at the grocery store ask me if my sons and I planned something special for Thanksgiving. I just smiled and sighed, looked at my two boys standing next to me, and thought for a moment. Then I said very sweetly, "In all honesty, everyday is thanksgiving for our family. We try to be thankful every single day - so this day isn't any more special...but a good reminder to those who don't always remember to give thanks." She smiled brightly and agreed.
