Let Your Home Be Your Heart

  • What I hope for my readers and for all keepers of the nest, is that they embrace their homes with their heart and all of the passion that it holds. I want them to know that they can decorate on a limited budget by seeing things in new ways; by rescuing the broken and transforming the ugly. I hope that they flaunt their favorite color and decorate their life with it. I hope that their homes feel like one giant hug that welcomes them each and every time they walk through their front door. More than anything I want everyone to have their own home-sweet-home dream come true! xo, Kim

Congratulations!! I love the dishes..

Four years???!!!!! Amazing! How much fun is that?? I do LOVE fiesta. Have a wonderful time away and will look forward to hearing and seeing all! Meanwhile, I'll dream of red Fiesta!

What a bright, cheery start to the day! All the reds and yellows perk me right up, even before my second cup.

Congratulations on your great milestone! I do wish I'd been here for all the four years---I discovered this lovely site about a year ago, and HAVE been here for the four, in that all the archives and the past posts have been right here for the enjoying. And in contrast to a morning's sweet reverie and pleasure, it's hard to ration out the ones set down in such lovely profusion---I must admit that it's like a whole candy-counter all-at-once---thinking "just one more," and finding that the whole category has been devoured in great greedy gulps, the words and the pictures and the thoughts and prayers and bright moments of your days.

Wherever you're headed, whatever the activities, I wish you Bon Voyage and Godspeed. Have a wonderful time, and hurry home!

Suzanne B

Wow, I would love to win the red Fiesta and yellow vase because I have NEVER won anything EVER!! I love your blog and read it everyday. Thank you for being you.

Oh Kim, I'm going to miss you so much! I hope you have a good time and I look forward to our cup of coffee & seeing your pictures when you come back!
Take care!

Happy Anniversary, and thank you for being my friend for the past 4 years! It is nice to know I have someplace to go for friendship. My husband had a stroke almost 12 years ago, and almost all of our "friends" have vanished!! It's a very lonely life, but it helps to know that you are always there! And for this, I thank you. I love yellow and red, and would love to be the winner of your prize.

Happy Anniversary! Your blog has given me a lot of courage with color - and even my husband is loving it. Wowsers. You make my day brighter and have helped to teach me to slow down and appreciate those little things. I take 'snapshots' everyday in imitation of you - memory snapshots of my day to appreciate all that I've been allowed to enjoy in life...albeit small or insignificant to others. It means so much to me, as do you.

Hi Kim! You are a fun blogger, and such a sweet, giving person. I will sure miss you while you are gone, but I know you are going to have a good time and tell us all about your adventures!

And, how did you know, RED is my fiestaware choice! It is and this would be right at home with the rest of what I have in my cupboard!

sue silva

I hate it when you go away; I have to get my 'Kim fix' with old posts, which beautiful but .... well you know.

Love the fiestawear. Where do you get it all? I'd love some in blue. Please tell me.

Miss you already,

One Heart

Congratulations Kim! I am sure many have been blessed by your blog. As I've said before, I come here almost every day and simply delight. I agree with Jen that the snapshots we are taking mean so much to ourselves. Yours are contagious and now I go around taking pictures of tiny flowers and my own banana bread. What I had not noticec is how much paying attention to the details brings us joy. There is so much we take for granted at times. Even the atmosphere in my home has been much brighter. Happy Anniversary and many more to come!! Celebrate with a big tour of Daisy Cottage. =D

You have put a bright spot in many a people's days with your blog. I know you have lifted me up many times thru your pictures and your words!!

Four years! No wonder it took me so long to read the archives when I started reading your blog a couple of years ago. You make my day many days without even knowing it.

Oh, Kim, you are always a ray of sunshine in a sometimes very gray day. We all love you so much.

Erin D

I have been reading your blog for about a year. Thank you for the repeat advice on decorate with what you love. I took it the first time and I'm in love with the picture that everyone gave me a crazy look when I said I wanted to hang it in my kitchen. I love love love it and I did it thanks to your blog speaking to me.

Kim Creasy

Congrats on 4 years and thank you for inspiring me and so many people to decorate with what we love and to forget about the stinking decorating rules..... a new slogan in my household. Kim Creasy

Cindy Nixdorff

Congrats on the 4 years! Wonderful. Love your blog!

Congrats on the 4 years! I simply adore the red fiestaware! If I am the *lucky* chosen one, I would give this to my lifelong best friend of 40 plus years. She, like your blog, has shared so much in our lifelong friendship. She has recently started her Fiesta collection and I know she would be honored to have this. Be safe in your journey and you will be missed so hurrrrrrrryyyy back!

Take care !!

Thank you Kim, for everything you share with us!!! XoXo

Thank you so much Kim for the fun opportunity. I am excited for me and for you! 4 years is amazing and for me blogging wouldn't be the same if you weren't "in" it.

I savor your blog posts keeping them for the end of my blog reading so I can end with a "bang"!

Love you!! Jen

AHHH...'Got to watch Carol B. every week when I was young. It was my "late" school night treat from my mom. What fond memories! Feeling' hopeful...Feelin' good...Just might have lunch on red Fiestaware with a little daisy placed in the vintage vase in honor of Dear Daisy Cottage! What a sweet and generous give-away! Congratulations on your anniversary. Usually I am a lurker, but your sight and giveaway have encouraged me to comment. I so look forward to reading your sight and looking for your articles/photos in all of the wonderful magazines. Your blog always cheers me up after a rough day at the office! Keep up the good work.

Happy Anniversary, Kim! I cherish our daily visits. Enjoy your time away. I will be counting the days....and may visit from time-to-time anyway. La

How sweet and generous you are, Kim! Congratulations on 4 years of blogging happiness!!

Happy Anniversary on four years of blogging! It seems like only yesterday when you were looking for a name for your blog. I am so happy for your success Kim.
Hope to meet up with you this winter. I would love to win the red fiestaware setting and that lovely yellow vase. It would be a perfect gift for my 69th birthday which falls on the 30th of September. Wish me luck! LOL

Oh, wow! what a lot of loveliness, but then again, that's what I'd expect from you. I am SO glad you are here.

I just recently discovered your blog- and can see from my short time visiting how loved and inspiring you are to your readers, of which I count myself as one now..I've been trying to "catch-up" by reading as many of your past posts as I can steal the time to do.. I share your affection for older homes-cottages, If I could, I would buy a small little cottage and bring it back to life as I can see you are doing. Happy aniversary! btw the vase is adorable!!! Is it also FiestaWare?

Penny @ The Comforts of Home & Lavender Hill Studio

I am so happy that I "met" you! Your blog is one I always look forward to Kim! Congrats on 4 years of beautiful blogging.

Katsui Jewelry

Congratulations on your four years...that is truly wonderful ! We are just at about five months and I am loving it. I so admire you women who started so long ago. It seems like it was a different world then, from what I understand.

I love both of your gifts but I have not been around long si please don't feel you need to put me in the running.

Come and visit us some time! We are not really all about our jewelry at all. I wish we could have had the name "Katsui" but it was taken!

Enjoy yourself. We will miss you. I love red too. It is my favourite colour and my husband loves yellow. I love coming to Daisy Cottage - it is always so calm and serene here.

Thank You Jane!

  • "I just discovered your blog and am blown away with the comfortable, almost nostalgic feel of it...almost like finding a long-lost friend after many years apart...somehow familiar, but all so exciting and new." ~ Jane

Thank You Dena!

  • "Kim, I love your blog. I so appreciate you sharing every day. I miss you when you're gone. Losing my dear sweet baby boy in Iraq has made me treasure life and those so dear to me. Reading your blog is such therapy for me. You have made me treasure the finer things in life that I use to overlook. Birds singing, flowers blooming, my home and all of the treasures within it. I'm not sure that I ever looked at a teacup or saucer and saw such detail and beauty in it." ~ Dena

Thank You Grace!

  • "I would like to let you know what a joy it is to wake up each morning and read your delightful blog. I always feel as if you are speaking directly to me. Since I was diagnosed with an immune disease a year ago I wanted only to read positive and very inspiring blogs and your blog was the first I found. I think maybe the good Lord meant for me to find your blog and since then it has been nothing but smiles all around. I have tried very hard to stay positive about this disease and very up beat. I know that there is no cure and I have accepted this, but reading things with a positive message and filled with so much love helps. This is where you come in and I just wanted to say thank you from the bottom of my heart and to let you know how very much you and Miss Maggie are loved." ~ Grace

Thank You Francesca!

  • "Oh my! I have just stepped into heaven. A nostalgic, magic, getaway place where folk love one another and life is sweet. Kim, you will probably never know just how many hearts you have touched with your site. " ~ Francesca

Thank You Kathy!

  • "I visited my friends with their tasteful beige homes and sometimes questioned if there was anyone else in this world who loved the things I did. Then I found Daisy Cottage and a whole community of other women who shop the side of the road, paint their furniture fun colors, and aren't afraid to fill their homes with touches of whimsy and fun. What a relief! We aren't alone! I'm not alone. Thanks for all your inspiration and for confidently sharing your home and the idea that we can have fun with our decorating. I never get tired of visiting here Kim." ~ Kathy

Thank you Rue!

  • "That hankie is like you and your blog Kim. In the middle of all of the other beautiful hankies, it's the one that stands out and makes you feel at home." ~ Rue

Thank You Jeanette!

  • "Sigh.... between your music, red and yellow mellow feeling and wonderful writing I just feel so calm. What would I do without you in the morning with my cup of coffee." ~ Jeanette

Thank You Lenna!

  • "My eyes have been opened to a world I never knew existed. Such vibrant creativity, such caring community: it literally takes my breath away. After so much loneliness and isolation it is overwhelming to me that such a world even exists. In time I hope to be able to fill my garden of life with lovely, loving friends instead of the weeds of loneliness. Until that time lace tablecloths will come out of storage, music and lovely scents will fill the air of this home. And I shall visit the Daisy Cottage when I feel despair raise its dark, obscuring head, for I know from experience, that it is ever lurking behind that next bout of pain and weakness. Your kind and generous response has strengthened my resolve, you have helped me more than you will ever know, my new-found friend." ~ Lenna

  • "What I love best about Daisy Cottage is Kim. I love the way you appreciate every good thing in life and embrace joy in every moment." ~ Rose

Thank You Lisa!

  • "Here's how I can best describe into words how your blog made me feel. You know when you wake up in the morning and there's an early morning thunderstorm and every room in your house is as dark as night? Then, the rain and thunder stop and the sun comes shining through all the windows and you just know it's going to be a beautiful, sunshine day? Well, that's how finding Dear Daisy Cottage made me feel. From the bottom of my heart, thank you Kim. You blessed my day and may God do the same for you." ~ Lisa B.

Thank you Pamela!

  • "I am so touched by your words and photographs. Whether in happy or sad times, you inspire my heart and soul. We all need each other's light and you offer us that dose of sunshine." ~ Pamela

Thank You Anne!

  • "Thank you for your wonderful blog. I have been "lurking" but had to share with you how much you have helped me embrace the fun of decorating. I came to your blog looking for pictures to inspire me as I redecorate my house with cottage style. Today I was so tangled up in doing it "right" that it was really depressing me. I visited your blog again for some fresh ideas and came away realizing that there is no "right." Just me being me and enjoying my home! I am laying here in bed with tears in my eyes - tears of happiness that it is okay to be me and let that shine through in my house and what I wear and what I make with my hands. You are God's gift to me today and I thank Him and you." ~ Anne

Thank You Tracy!
