I cannot believe that it has been almost a year since we visited Yvonne's house together! (click on any words in red and it will link you to what I'm referring to - as in this case you will be taken to our previous tour of Yvonne's home)
Well it has. A whole year. Time flies when you spend the days with the ones that you love.
And yes that would be YOU.
Anyway, we had a ladies event at her home one night last week and I went a little early to take a few photos to share with you. Everything was so pretty and - as always at Yvonne's house - warm and inviting.
Her kitchen is still one of my all time favorites. I adore how everything is out and beckoning to be used ...
Yvonne recently transformed a bedroom that is immediately off of her living room into a cozy family room for her and her family. By moving the television into her new family room space she was able to make her living room more of a formal sitting room. She used everything that she already owned as she recreated these two spaces and it all blends together so beautifully.
And I think you will agree.
Here is the new family room ...
The television is in a black armoire to the right of this view but my photo didn't come out. Boohoo. I guess I'll just have to go back another time and take more photos for you. ;-)
Here is a view from the family room looking back into the sitting room...
And here is the sitting room ...
Yvonne's sweet hubby, Richard, lovingly handcarved the wooden heart that you see here on the mantel for her last Christmas.
Everything is so pretty. So romantic. So Yvonne.
I hope you enjoyed this mini tour. I promise promise promise to bring you more!
And thank you so much Yvonne! You know I love you!
xo,
Kim

I agree, Kim! Yvonne, your home is so warm and inviting. Looks so comfy and homey! You are very talented at mapping it all out. I especially love your unique use of space - the little quilts folded up under the side table and little cuties sitting on top of books and such. Adore.
Happy Week Kim and Yvonne!

What a lovely home! Her personality just shines through your photos. I love her eclectic look--a little leaded glass, a yoyo quilt, painted and natural wood furniture, lots of art and books--so welcoming and comfy. Thanks for the tour!

Very pretty! Thanks for sharing that, Kim. I'd probably want to do the opposite though. I have a formal living room that was hardly ever used for years. This year it has gotten more use than ever since I moved my office/business HQ to my rolltop desk in there.

Very nice! I really enjoyed Yvonne's first tour and this one is equally exciting! The pics are fantastic. All your pics are. I think that, over the years, I've enjoyed your blog as much as any deocrating mag I've ever looked at-and I've had many. Thanks, Kim!

WELL DONE< Yvonne! And thanks Kim for sharing.
Don't you LOVE gals night with good company, wine and candles? they're some of my best memories.
I just love my gal pals......my hubs is just awesome, but there is nothing like getting together with the gals.
I feel like a part of your night, great feeling and pudry spaces - love her two new spaces!

"Found" space in our own homes is one of life's sweet bonuses, I think, and she has certainly arranged it with a talented hand.
Finding favorite authors on strange bookshelves is a lovely thing---Cussler, Martini, Silverstein, and the sweet little neat stack of what I think of as "lap-ghans" handy beneath the side table---hospitality defined.
I've always thought I'd be stifled in one of those huge "California" houses beside the sea, with room-high windows and billowing white curtains, and all that square sterile light coming in. Mine is the nesting heart, and I truly DO love looking at this welcoming, warm nest.
What lovely friends you have!

I remember that whirlwind tour you took us on last summer...I enjoy every minute of it! I love Yvonne's home -it's so cozy, warm and she has exquisite taste with all of her accessories and pretty corners of her home. Her kitchen was also one of my favorites - I think I saved every picture of it! Thanks for sharing it again with us.

What a lovely, warm, and welcoming home Yvonne has created! Her new family room is all a family room should be, comfortable, charming, and with such wonderful personal touches. I love her furniture, her use of colors, and that everything she needed to furnish the family room was already hers! Oh course, the kitchen is a dream come true!
The yo-yo pillow in the small rocking chair in the family room is sending me to my box of yo-yos!
Kim, thank you for taking us to visit Yvonne's beautiful home!
Hugs!

Absolutely dreamy. I'd never leave the house. It's always delightful to see decorating which resembles one's own personality vs. trends as Susan and Bentley mentioned above.
Thank you for sharing these beautiful pictures. Have a lovely day.

Hi Kim,
Oh my goodness - what a lovely home and as usual, your photogrpahs are fabulous. Love the fire place screen made from old windows and her use of red. The hand carved swan is so charming and very special.
Thank you Yvonne for sharing your lovely home with us.

I've been a humble lurker of Daisy Cottage for years and just want to say that Yvonne's family room and Kim, your beautiful photography just make me want to snuggle on that welcoming sofa with a good book or an old movie, a warm cup of tea (or perhaps iced) and my new kitten on my lap. If only I could make my home as inviting and comfortable. Thanks to both of you for the relaxing and enjoyable moments away from my reality!

I love that little needlepoint stool, I think it is needlepoint? I have a stool that I just finished by using my grandmother's needlepoint. Works well next to my leather wing chair. That wing chair isn't very comfortable but it looks great!
Thanks for the tour.

Thanks for the lovely pictures -- so many things to look at and enjoy. Kim, I've been wanting to ask you -- how did you transition from your previous more modern home to "Daisy Cottage" -- did you have a lot of furnishings to bring with you, or did you have to go shopping -- and that certainly wouldn't be a bad thing!!
Have a wonderful day -- see you tomorrow.

OHHHHHHH! What a lovely, inviting, warm home. Thank you Kim for the wonderful photography and thank you Yvonne for sharing your home with us. I would love to snuggle on that couch with a blanket, a cup of tea and a wonderful magazine in your family room. What a wonderful sense of "self decorating" - not going with the trends. Lovely, lovely, lovely
thanks again Kim and Yvonne for sharing (made my Day!)

I so enjoyed your tour of Yvonne's home. It is such a delight to view, your photography showed most of the comfy spots in the house. My favourite was the candles lit in the fireplace, thanks for sharing.

Darling home, looks so comfy and inviting, so beautifully detailed! Noticed her little yo-yo pillow on the rocker, yo-yo doily and folded yo-yo. I have all my yo-yo's made, but just not stitched together yet. Takes a long time, made the yo-yo's this winter while sitting by our fireplace. Thanks so much for sharing all your pictures with us. Love the home pictures! Cindy Okla

What a gorgeous, gorgeous home! thank you, Kim, for sharing Yvonne's rooms with us. I saw lots to be inspired by. I've always kept things fairly bare and sparse in my home. Partly for not having many "things" and partly by choice.....but I'm learning a lot from reading your blog and realize that I like "things" and I should bring them out. I've actually got some things on my mantel right now, whereas it's always been pretty bare before. I'm even thinking about adding some color to my neutral palette. :)
My how one can change!
