Let Your Home Be Your Heart

  • What I hope for my readers and for all keepers of the nest, is that they embrace their homes with their heart and all of the passion that it holds. I want them to know that they can decorate on a limited budget by seeing things in new ways; by rescuing the broken and transforming the ugly. I hope that they flaunt their favorite color and decorate their life with it. I hope that their homes feel like one giant hug that welcomes them each and every time they walk through their front door. In The Garden With Maggie

I love being in the garden with Maggie and observing her as she explores with dachshund earnest all of its wonder.  It must seem like a forest to her - you know, with her being so short and all.

She sniffs and sniffs and hunts and hunts.  Her long tail wags in sheer excitement of what she MIGHT capture.

And while she takes a break now and then from her adventure to stand guard and protect me ...

It usually isn't too long before she is back at it again - nose to the ground and off to follow yet another scent.

But not before she looks up and thanks God for her many blessings.

And as I marvel at her sweetness and get misty with how much I love her, I make sure to thank God too.

Still Comfy

My $10 yard sale sofa is still comfy.  A bit shabby and yes some might say more than a bit ugly but still so very comfy.

 

I think I got my money's worth.

Rainy Days and Lightning

It has been very cloudy and rainy here.  And we have had several really bad lightning storms too.  Poor Maggie runs for my lap - on the rare occasion when she is not already on it - and shakes until the bad "boom booms" go away.

 

But even though it has been a bit gloomy I've still been able to not only make tuna fish sandwiches but do my laundry on the laundry porch too.

So that's a good thing.  Except when a BIG bright bolt of lightning comes down and I jump and hurry back inside.

 

Don't tell Maggie but I'm pretty darn scared of lightning too.
