The sun has said Good Morning to our home and I am saying Good Morning to you. :-)
May your day be glorious and filled with lots and lots and lots of sunshine.
Soak it all in.... the sights, the sounds, the smells, and YES the color. It will make your spirit soar.
Promise.
xo,
Kim
Good Morning, Kim,
What a beautiful encouragement. I was away last week after my daughter's wedding so I've been catching up on your blog. It's like coming home! I really did think about you and the gifts you share with us. It captures the spirit of simplicity, something I long for. You, I believe, have the gift of hospitality, and you use it well. Thanks. Have a most wonderful day yourself.

Kim,
Love the sunshine photo. I don't get to see or enjoy much of the sun since I work indoors all day, but I come to your blog for some added "sunshine" to my day. Oh to dream of some day...

Hi Kim,
What an inviting spot, and so nice to see the sun streaming through the windows in your sweet kitchen. I've always dreamed of having black and white tiles like yours -somewhere, but not sure where yet! Seeing this photo just reminded me!
I love color too, and although I use a lot of white, I have color, color, color everywhere. My kitchen is painted tangerine orange! An unusual choice for sure, but I love it! Drop by and have a look sometime!
Have a wonderful, sunny day.

Oh, whew! I just went to this gorgeous all white perfectly perfect "farmhouse" blog. I started feeling reeeaally insecure again, sitting here in my bright house with lots of yellows and reds.... and then I hopped to your blog.
That was a close call-- I felt like I should go out and buy lots of white paint there for a second ;) Wishing you a very happy and colorful day too, sweet Miss Kim.

It's sunny here too, for now. I think it might rain later, so I'll enjoy your sunshine if it does!

A very wonderful "Good Morning" to you too! I spotted your rooster collection on top of your kitchen cabinets.....they are an awesome looking group! It's sunny here in Atlanta too and in the 90's. But everything is growing so well because of our late day sun showers. Till tomorrow!

I love it when the sun shines in the house in the morning hours. Here we have had sunny mornings, but it is very hot and humid...which is bringing very bad evening storms for several days now and many places have flash flooding. Hope it stops soon and we have just the sunshine.

You are right about soaking it in and letting your spirits soar. I just got back from a walk and found it restorative to my soul to hear the crickets in the tall grasses, the quail lookout warning of my approach, see the general goodwill that robins seem to impart, and the ring of clouds around the mountain. All very healing.

I couldn't agree more Kim...we've seen so much rain and cloudy days lately that I feel the need for some cloudless skies and dry heat. How could you ever get up even on a dull day in your home and not feel cheery! Have a wonderful day....Maura :)

Kim,
How nice is that! Love the rooster and hen family on your kitchen cabinets. Everything changes with the amount of sun in a room. The touches of orange sherbet in this room add so much. Great look.
Happy Tuesday to all!!

Kim, Love your new chair. It looks so warm and cozy just off the kitchen.
Kim, could you please draw a rough floor plan of your house so I can visualize the arrangement? I know the other girls would probably like it too! It doesn't have to be professional looking - just a rough copy to let us see the layout of your neat house. The second story too if you wouldn't mind.
Hugs,

I said heck no I can go to her blog! My daughter called me a stalker!! LOL I said not in blogland we are all friends!! Isn't it great to have some where to go and connect with other women!! Kim,
I see yellow yarn and needles. Do you knit? I have always wanted to knit and I keep saying I am going to
take lessons at a local store. But I have not
taken that step, yet. I just want to make my own afgan or coverlet-nothing fussy or fancy. In fact, I like a rustic look for hand knit items.
Love that corner chair and all that surrounds it. The plates are a nice wall decoration. You always have a new angle to show us, of your wonderful home and garden.
Thanks, JolieAnne

Hi Kim
Got home from work about an hour ago, unpacked my dishwasher and came to visit you. We had a lot of sunshine here in Ontario today as well but tomorrow they are forecasting rain all day.
Glad to see you had a lovely sunny day as well. What are you planning to knit what that beautiful yellow yarn? Love your lampshade
Have a good night

Kim, you inspire me every time I come over here! I've been tossing and turning, trying to figure out a plan for our bedroom, and the other day I came over to look through your photos. Your heart is in EVERYTHING you do. I decided to throw caution to the wind and just start hanging up the pictures and things that I like. It's so liberating! And I love the way everything is coming together. It doesn't look like a magazine, it looks like MY house:) You're a gem.

I adore the lamp shade in this pic. I know it's macrame but I'm thinking I could do something very similar with crochet. I'm off to the GW to find a lampshade frame that will support my crochet efforts. If I'm successful I'll send you a pic. Thank you ever so much for posting all your decor ideas, you'll never know how much you've inspired me to be ME! Love you bunches of much!

Hello Kim and Happy Birthday to you!! I'm excited because this is my first time to actually comment on your blog. I adore your cottage and your wonderful outlook on life. Like a lot of others your blog is so uplifting and inspiring. Your photography is also so beautiful! I have noticed you have a few roosters in your kitchen. Over the past few years I've collected roosters also. My husband kids me about it, but thats ok. Well just wanted to say hi and that you are so special to a lot of people. Happy Birthday Kim! Romantic Country is one of my favorite magazines. Too expensive so I often find myself at the magazine rack in the stores perusing the latest issue. I enjoyed your birthday blog on June 21, 2010 and I was immediatlely drawn to the "apron!" As a child I watched my apron-clad Nana make fudge, roll out pie crusts and frost birthday cakes. Everything was made from scratch! When Nana had her apron on..."all was right with the world!" Thank you for stirring up memories of a simple, pure and honest time. P.S. Were those blooms on the June 18, 2010 blog Crepe Myrtle? My Nana also had Crepe Myrtle blooming in her yard. Magical times in my memory!!!
