I'm still here.
Are YOU still here?
I sure hope so.
Although I didn't miss you at all.
Nope. Not at all.
Yea right. Let's put it this way ...
I missed you so much. I thought about you when my ADORABLE MOPS were here. (They were SO cute and so appreciative and I wanted to adopt them all.) I missed you when I was cleaning and watering and writing and planting and baking and traveling and yes - even when I was stuck in annoying traffic. I missed you when the train went by. I missed you when I saw a real live garden bunny. I missed you with the sunrises and I missed you with the sunsets. I missed you in the morning mist, but most of all I missed you in the daily bliss.
So yes dear friends - don't let me fool you. Gulp. I missed you VERY much.
Now, how are YOU? What have you been up to? Did you have a wonderful Easter? Please share with me ... what's new in your world? Are you doing okay?
By the way, YOUR HEARTS FOR JACK will be featured here on my blog this Friday. And then they will be on their way to Jack - where they belong.
For now, here are some VERY random photos that I snapped while I was gone. And I do mean random. ;-)
Have you tried a squeeze of lime in your water or tea? I prefer it to lemon!
Our blue office room - I know, I know, I really need to share the whole room with you. I will. I promise - I will.
See? My front porch flowers are still here too! Yay!!
And my kitchen is still here!
Now lemons are beautiful. Even if I do prefer limes in my beverages. ;-)
A pot of pretty blooms for the laundry porch is making me happy ...
A view of our courtyard pergola ... I found the white tablecloth at Goodwill the day before the MOPS came to visit.
New red impatients for the courtyard bathtub ...
A fern for the fireplace ...
My MOPS gave me these beautiful yellow tulips - which made my heart swoon!
And they are still alive too! Even today! ;-)
I showed my MOPS my new-to-me red $5 lamp from Goodwill. Many of them said they were going shopping that afternoon after their visit to Daisy Cottage ;-)
Even the pink hydrangeas are still here!
So, yes, I'm still here ...
And gosh I hope YOU are too.
Love,
Kim
*edited* this morning to add that I just received an email from our sweet blogging friend, Colleen, where she shared with me that another blogging friend of ours, Cindy, has suffered an aneurysm. Cindy has been a loving member of our Daisy Cottage family and is a sweetheart. Along with being a mother and the wife of a minister, she is also a school teacher. I am so saddened to hear this and I pray that she will get better and better each day. IF you can, please visit her blog here and leave a note for her on her daughter's post where she shares about our Cindy. I know it will mean the world to her. Thank you so much Colleen for letting us know.
We love you Cindy.
WELCOME BACK! I missed all the bright cheeriness of Daisy Cottage! A well-cared for home is a pure joy. . .bliss indeed! I've been enjoying caring for my home and adding more roosters to my kitchen! We had a glorious Easter with family. Bless you, Beth

I'm here! I've missed you, too, and am happy to see your new photos, the new-to-you tablecloth and wonderful red lamp, and your many happy flowers.
My mother said not to wish my life away, but I cannot wait to see the hearts that have arrived for Jack. Have you counted how many you received yet?
Welcome home!!

Oh, Dear Heavens, Kim!!
Until I saw the camera lens and realized it was pressed to your eye, I saw the picture as totally different---it was of you facing away, to the right of the picture, with your hair flowing WAY down below your waist, and your satiny brocade dress cut down to THERE on the sides.
Oh, My!! What WAS I thinking? And now that I've seen it correctly, I can't go back and UNSEE the real picture---it's like one of those childhood "see the hidden pictures" outlines---once you've seen them, there's no going back.
I gotta get some REAL glasses!! Welcome back!!! I checked in every day to see if you were here, and I'm very glad you are.
(And my apologies for such a daring assumption).
Lordy Mercy---What MUST you think of me?

Thank you so much! I received the giveaway last week and am still drooling! I have a little project for the broach to highlight it. I have yet to go fleaing, but when I do, I will post about it. I just love everything. I guess that is what made it harder with you being gone. I see the items and would remember you and your kindness. And of course Miss Maggie! Thank you again!

Jennifer here... from MOPs...
A couple of us did go to a yard sale and a thrift store after we left your house. It was nice to not have to corral the little ones while we did it too!
Inspired by the letters on your wall, I went to Picasso's Cup and painted an S for our last name. But in my style. Can't wait to get it back, put it on my wall and take a picture!
Thanks for the inspiration and hospitality. My daughter really liked her daisy cookie!

We did miss you. Yours is the first blog I go to each day and you were a away way too long it seems. I too like a squeeze of lime in my water. I buy the bottled lime or lemon (sorry not fresh but it keeps) and squeeze in my water glass so that I'll try to drink more water. Sort of like a limeade without the sugar. We have to trick ourselves..Kim

Hi Kim,
Sure did miss ya! Hope you had a nice time. Sure did have a beautiful Easter with our family over. Lots of good food and company just missed my late mom and dad and grandmother, and others (sorry could go on and on).. know I'll be with them again someday though.
I also love limes in my water.. very delicious but if not available lemons will do. I found a box of small packages of crystalized limes and lemons in grocery store some time back. All natural and very good in water. Come to think of it need to get more. Also good sprinkled on other food; yougart, etc.
Have a blessed week and beautiful photos above,
hugs, julie

Hi there! I'm here - glad you're there again. Wow, what a lifter of the spirits that your pictures are - I could make a comment on every one of them but it's nearly midnight here and I need to go to bed. I'll just say: love the bananas picture, lemons in blue bowl, turquoise iron furniture on deck, big fat round porch pillars...Most important though, is that I truly hope you enjoyed every moment with your mother (mine went to heaven last year, so I know how each tiny second with your mother is a treasure). I'm sure being with you made her birthday extra happy.
Hope you had a blessed Resurrection Day on Sunday...

Dear Kim,
I missed your blog so much. I checked every day even though I knew you would probably take the week off. As always, you take such beautiful pictures. I love the blue that I saw in the den. Would you mind sharing the color? Your home is such a happy and colorful place and it makes me smile.
I was able to take the drive around Morton Lake and the swans took my breath away. The trip was planned at the last minute, and I accidently left your phone number in my fifth wheel, so I couldn't call. I had DH driving up/down the streets trying to find Daisy Cottage - told him we couldn't miss it; it was the most beautiful house on the block. You live in such a unique and charming area - I can see why you love it.
Thanks for the post about Cindy - will leave a message and lift her/family in prayer. Life is so precious and in one second it can change.
Happy Belated Easter to you and your family.
Hugs,
Connie

Hi Kim,
So happy to read your post today. You have been very busy for sure.
I also love lime and buy some every week, I use lime on my salad for dressing, it saves all the calories from oil dressings. I will mix lime and lemon together it's really good!. I think I need to plant a lime tree since I use so much of it.
Have a wonderful day and big hugs for you,
Elizabeth

Glad you're back, Kim! Glad you've had good days. Enjoyed all your pictures, but I especially liked the yellow tulips and the Fiesta Ware. :) Will keep Cindy in mind, and hope she is better soon. I look forward to the "hearts" on Friday, and hope that will be a great blessing for Jack!
We had a really nice day on Sunday. It started out with a wonderful community service and breakfast, then church after that. Then, since we have no family around here, some others were having a family picnic and invited us along, and let me tell you, we were blessed richly! It was awesome. So GLAD that your back! Yippee!!!! Am pleased to hear that you had a lovely time with "The MOPS". Your garden is looking mighty fine. I'm enjoying mine, though I wish it would warm-up a tad bit more here on the west coast of British Columbia. My tulips have budded and I can hardly wait for them to bloom. Kim, missed you so much. I spent the week in Austin which is about a month ahead of spring here in Kansas. Got to walk through bluebonnets in the park and eat outside then come home to 40 mph winds. Ahh well. I know the MOPS gals enjoyed your hospitality. I remember being there and how much it meant to have just a few uninterrupted minutes to myself. What a blessing you are to them. Enjoy your day. Hugs.

Kim
So gland that you are back! I missed visiting you every day. I missed you so much that I painted my kitchen. Guess what colour - a lovely yellow - my husband and I love it. How bright a cheery it makes us feel. Love your photos as always. Easter was quite lovely. How was your mother's birthday? I will visit the blog...My prayers are with Cindy.
Hugs

Welcome back Kim. Sure missed you. I visited every day, even though you said you would be away for a while, but one never knows, so why not check, right?
I had a lovely Easter, thank you, shared with the immediate and extended family. Glad to hear that you've had a wonderful visit with the Mops.
Cheers for now

I'm thrilled you're back, Kim, although your archives were a fun substitute while you were on hiatus. I dropped by to give Cindy some get-well wishes--Daisy Cottage has always felt like extended family to me :)
The Easter Bunny brought us an early present of four baby chicks! Life is good!

Hi Kim! Welcome back! I was just thinking of you when I came upstairs tonight. I decided to check my mail one more time, and there it was: your latest post. I've missed visiting with you. I've been pretty busy here. I just finished up a quilt, a fall table topper, and I also pieced the top for a Christmas one. I figure if I start now, I just might have something to put on the table by Christmas! My sister and I have been like two peas in a pod, visiting quilt shops and shows, and sewing up a storm. I'm hoping to have photos up on my blog by the end of the week. Your photos have filled me with hope for the spring. I hope you will have time to stop and take a breath and just enjoy it! So glad you're back. I'll be praying for Cindy. Hugs, Terri

Wow! That is a great post Kim. In the first picture was that great big beautiful tree. I love trees like that. next thing I loved was the hydrangeas. So lovely. MOP gals are lucky ducks to see it all in person.
I missed you too and am very glad you are back! Really glad.
So, I have been busy getting ready for Easter filling twelve Easter baskets for our grand kids, a niece and a nephew ranging in age from three to twenty-one. My youngest daughter set up tables on her massive front porch for dinner. It was so nice to be outside. The kidos loved hunting for a hundred or so plastic eggs. They were so happy and cute!
Hubby and I have all the weeds pulled, plants pruned and fed, lawn mowed for the first time this year and made sure all were getting water. Bring on the heat.
Thanks for telling us about Cindy. I am so sorry. I am praying for healing and peace
Can't wait till Friday. You have done a wonderful thing gathering hearts to let Jack know how much we care.
XO Nancy M.

Hello, missed you too!
We had a wonderfull Easter.I made breakfast for my parents and my youngest brother and his family visited us in the afternoon. They have a ten months old baby daughter and she is so cute! She has the brightest blue eyes I've ever seen!
On Monday we visited my grandmother and I'm very glad and thankful that she's still among us.
Today it's beautiful weather again and I will enjoy the sunshine in the afternoon reading a book or just doing nothing but sitting in my new garden chair!
I like your new things that you bought for your home and I love the bunch of flowers blooming in your garden! In The Netherlands we will have to wait a bit longer for all these colors, but I can already see tiny bits of green ready to come out.
Enjoy your day,enjoy the sun...
Big hug,Nina.

I've missed visiting with you....on the other hand I have had some computer problems and haven't been able to check in. :( Glad to see you back! Love the flowers! I have had bromeliads in a children's slide in my backyard, but the dogs thought they were delicious (UGH!) and ran them to death carrying them all over the yard. The impatiens might be a good idea and maybe mix in some ferns? hmmmmmm
Oh, and YES on Goodwill - one of my all time favorite stores!
