Let Your Home Be Your Heart

  • What I hope for my readers and for all keepers of the nest, is that they embrace their homes with their heart and all of the passion that it holds. I want them to know that they can decorate on a limited budget by seeing things in new ways; by rescuing the broken and transforming the ugly. I hope that they flaunt their favorite color and decorate their life with it. I hope that their homes feel like one giant hug that welcomes them each and every time they walk through their front door. More than anything I want everyone to have their own home-sweet-home dream come true! xo, Kim

Kim, I did not know the story of Jack but I can see there is an amazing out pouring of love for this person. Beautiful describes the pillows so lovingly made and mailed and the people who took time to send them. This is how caring people show their concern and love for those in need of a heart hug.

This just makes me smile.
Blessings to Jack and you for all the work you have done as well.
Love, Jeanne

Oh Kim, there are tears rolling down my cheeks right now. I can only imagine Jack opening those boxes and being reminded of the goodness in the world for someone they have never met but who feel a kinship just the same. This little token does not even try to replace his loss but hopefully it will stir fond memories of the lives that his beloved Tabatha touched. Thank you for following the tug of your heart spurred on by sweet Tammy and reaching out to your sisters to act in such a loving way. My prayers are with Jack anew. Blessings Patty

Kim, I was so blessed to be able to make a heart for Jack and hopefully bring some amount of joy to his broken heart at this time. All the hearts are incredible and your pictures were just beautiful. You could see the love in each heart that was pictured on your blog!!! Thanks to all the people who helped make this project a great success and especially to you, Kim, for co-ordinating it all. Love & blessings from NC!

Oh my, I just finding out all of this, went back and read the original letter and did some crying too. I have two friends recently diagnosed with breast cancer and am worried about them. You are an amazing woman to pull off such a wonderful gift for this man to remember his wife. I know I would miss my husband tremendously, I have great compassion for him. The hearts are beautiful! They made me cry! Tears, Steph

A Romantic Porch

Kim, These are so so very beautiful. This story has been touching from start to finish. I wanted to participate in this project of giving and caring, but alas, my own life has demands beyond what I can currently meet and so I have carried the story of Jack and Tabitha close in my heart. I've thought of him often and wondered about all the stories behind the hearts he will receive. I trust he is truly finding peace and comfort. Thank you for your time and effort in sending hope and love his way from around the world. I find this to be almost to amazing for words. xo rachel

I am sorry I didn't have time to make a heart....I don't sew well and have been busy with getting prepared for Maddie's next hospital we are home healing! Maybe I could send it late....*sigh!
What a perfect gesture!

What a sweet bunch of hearts! My message for Jack is that we all know the pain of losing someone loved, that is why we took the time to make and send a token of our hearts and our support. I pray that God will use this to show Jack that he is not alone and that healing will come with time. All our best to you Jack!

Kim, you did a beautiful job photographing all the lovely hearts. I know Jack is going to be filled with love when he receives them all. I hope you enjoy the little goodies I sent you and no need to post about them. I just wanted to send a very special person(you), a token of friendship and love for all you do at Daisy Cottage.

They are all so beautiful but not half as beautiful as the sentiment behind them. You are all great people!

This was such an amazing thing you did for Jack, putting this all together. It just goes to show how many amazing, caring, wonderful people are out there (I knew they were!).

Kim...the hearts are just beautiful...I am so impressed with each persons can just see their personalities coming through in each hope for Jack is that when he sees our little hearts that he feels the love Tabitha had for your blog and why she'd want to visit your blog and be a part of the Daisy Cottage family...I hope he has a large basket to display them all...they are too gorgeous to be hidden in a box...I wanted to tell you too Kim that I think it was amazing that you did this...I know that it took lots of time...lugging your tote bag to the post office and then taking time to unwrap them all...not to mention photograph (by the way they were wonderful) them. May God richly bless you! Much love, Robyn and Daisy Mae in KY

I am overwhelmed with the generosity and caring of people right now. So many times all we hear about is the negativity in the world and how people mistreat each other. Your posts and this project has reaffirmed to me that people are good, loving, and care about their fellow man. I did not know the story of Tabitha and Jack. It is a tragic thing that has happened, but look how many people's lives have been touch and changed by this brave woman that none of us ever met.

I can only imagine how Jack is going to feel when he gets these hearts. I am sure that he will treasure them for the rest of his life.

Thank you for sharing this with us. It has inspired me to continue to try to be positive and never give up on the kindness of others.

lori lucas

Amazing. It makes me realize there is MUCH right in this world.

So Sweet! I was ok...til I got to the one made by Karly...precious!

Debbie L.

In all my life I have never seen such kindness shown with these special hearts so tenderly made for our friend Tabitha. I am sure she is smiling down from heaven above thanking each and every one of you.

Dear Jack I pray that these hearts will fill your heart with peace and joy when they arrive.

Thank you Kim and ladies. My heart is filled with joy to know that each and everyone one of you cares so much. This is what life is all about isnt it... giving, caring, loving, one another.

Another deep breath and tears:) Bless you all!!

Debbie L.

Kim, my eyes were filling with tears, but yet my heart was so touched as I was looking at all these beautiful hearts lovingly made for Jack. I can only imagine him opening the boxes filled with hearts and how overwhelmed he will be with all kinds of emotions - gratitude, happiness, love, and yes, even sadness.

You see, I can relate to Jack in a very small way, as I recently (6+ months ago) lost 21-year old son. I know how much this loving gift will mean to him.

God bless you, Kim for organizing this project for Jack.

Sandi ~ A Cottage Muse

Dear Sweet Kim, Like life, Jack's hearts are breathtaking and heartwarming! Lisa

Absolutely incredibly beautiful! My prayer will be that each and each heart surrounds Jack w/an abundance of love and comfort :)

Fay Marie Torzsok

Dear Kim

What a beautiful job you did with the display and photography of the hearts for Jack. I became quite emotional watching them all. Thanks for all that you were willing to do in order to make this possible. Thanks Tammy for this thoughtful idea.

This is the first time I've tried making something like this and must admit that I was quite excited and enjoyed putting it together, maybe it was because I was thinking of Jack and Tabatha and put my heart into it.

Thanks again Kim for all the hard work.

God bless!
Fay Marie

You are so like an angel, Kim.

You touch so many.

Here I am with tears rolling down my cheeks, saying prayers for jack, and for Tabith's soul, and for YOU- who just give so much to us all.

Thank you for all this hard work - the kindness is beyond belief.

I was overwhelmed by the beautiful hearts....there are some wonderful people in the world who care about others. I wish we could see something like this on the news channel. Thanks Kim for showing our hearts. Judy

What a wonderful, heartfelt, uplifting post!! The time and the talents it took to make these are amazing, and the dedication to a friend---that is such a wonderful thing.

I recognize fabrics, buttons, stitches; the cheer and the color and the no-two-alike creations of a group of happenstance friends, joining in to create such beauty and such an outpouring of love are a magical thing, come together by the efforts of many joined in one purpose.

This has been so stirring to witness, this Project of Love, and each stitch, each prayer, each tear left upon the work only enhance its value and its charm.

Thank you all for sharing these stunning pieces of yourselves, and for choosing such a sweet, memorable way to comfort one friend by showing such love and regard in remembering another.

And thank you, Kim, for being the heartbeat of this amazing gift.

Oh, I can see why you were crying after opening all of these wonderful expressions of love and encouragement. Although they are all wonderful, and I shouldn't have a favorite, the one by little Karly just gets me.

Thank you for doing this for Jack.

Kim Nichols

What cute hearts made by such special caring people just wanting to share love with Jack in honor of his wife. I cried when I read the story. So sweet of everyone to take the time to share such love.

Barbara Anne

What wonderful, individual, and vibrant hearts have been imagined and created for Jack in honor of his Tabitha.

I'm glad to have been a part of this. Thanks for making this possible Kim and Tammy!

This is so amazing. Thank you Kim. You are amazing.

I'm honoured to be part of this wonderful project & sew a heart for Jack in memory of Tabitha ♥ Your post today is so touching - seeing all the little hearts displayed so beautifully. On the days when I wonder why I blog, I think your post today pretty much sums it up ♥
Thank you so much Kim & Tammy xo.

Kim, this was such a touching idea you started and it's amazing to see them all together. Hard to type with blurry eyes!

You've done Jack and his wife Tabitha a great honor.

The box you are sending him is not only hearts, but full of love and I'm sure it will bring him some comfort and will be a lovely way of keeping her spirit cherished.

Marianne & Mindy

The tears are rolling down my face at the moment. breath -- It is amazing to see that Tammy sharedd a drop of love and with your devotion to this project, a drop became a trickle which became ripples of love everywhere. I can just imagine the love that will fill Jack's heart in memory of sweet Tabitha as he opens the love hearts.
Your pictures of each heart touched my very soul.

sweet cottage dreams

So, so super sweet! Ok, here goes the tears......

I am just in awe how each heart is so unique in their own way - just like all of us. Life is not easy, however I believe that God works His magic through all of us. HIS heart and love endures us to keep going. Though our loved ones will be carried in our hearts forever, we need to know that we will be with them again in Heaven. This keeps me focused. Eternity... How wonderful is that?

Sending you, Tammy and Jack a BIG HUG and affection from the bottom of my heart. Jack, it never gets easier, but just know that Tabatha is with you in spirit. She loves you so very, very much. I pray that these hearts of our love will comfort you in the days ahead. Lean on God, dear Jack, for He is our salvation, our peace, our Father.

much love to all of you,

Sweet Kim,

Looking at all those wonderful hearts made tears spring to my eyes. Thank you for giving me an opportunity to make my heart grow in compassion and love. Your photography was beautiful, but isn't everything when it's done with heart. Blessings to you!

Much love! Until your heart overflows!

so much love needed in our world inexpensive to wonderful to receive.

Wow.............all I can think of is WOW!

Thank you for doing this for Jack! It was just a small thing I did for Jack and I made one for my Amber as well ;) What a surprise when I clicked on your blog and there was the one I made with her name. I so enjoyed making it (and yours). I know he will treasure them for years to come!
Blessings & Hugs,

Kim, you are a very special person, to care and present this touching display of kindness for Jack, from so many. I too have tears as I saw all the beautiful hearts. I so appreciate your tender heart in sharing!

Betty @ She's Sew Pretty

So much love in one place. I hope they will bring comfort to Jack. My heart goes out to him and you sweet Kim for bringing all of us together. Thank you for letting me be a part of this.

What a beautiful project. I wasn't around here when this project started but when I read about it I thought it was such a wonderful thing for everyone to do.

I hope Jack will find comfort in knowing how many people are thinking of his wife and of his loss.

Wow, wow, wow, thank you SO much for showing these to us.

Have you considered sending him a tree style ornament holder so that he can hang these up? I don't know if a man would do that or not but he'd be able to see them more completely than keeping them in a basket (or whatever container).

Esther Sunday

Very, very moving. All the hearts are just stunning, in more ways than one. Thank you, Kim, for all your hard work on this, it feels good to be included in this giving to Jack.

Thinking of you, Jack!

My heart is brim with joy! Thank you for letting us all share our love for Jack and his wife.

Susan Freeman

It's hard to compose myself to leave a comment. First of all, I want to thank you Kim for giving us the opportunity to do a little something to send kind thoughts to a grieving widower. I want to thank your friend for the suggestion and I want to thank all of those who participated in creating a bit of love for the husband of a dear departed one. It is such a pleasure and honor to be part of this wonderful world of Blog Land!! I am continually amazed by the kindness, compassion and creativity of my fellow bloggers. There have been many times recently when I have felt sad, and blogs have been a warm and safe place to visit. It makes me happy to know that dear Tabatha found your place a warm and safe haven during her last days.

God Bless you Dear Kim
and God Bless all of my fellow bloggers!

Much love,
Susan and Bentley

What a legacy for her family and husband to treasure always. Friends and family are the best treasure, the only treasure for the times in life and death that need support and love. Thank you, Kim. Sheila

Oh Kim,
I can hardly see the screen to write this! It is such a beautiful thing to see so much love!! Jacks love for Tabatha is something that can not be discribed. It is that love that inspired all of us to sent our hearts to Jack. I am so moved by all of my fellow bloggers who's hearts are so big. Thank you; to all of you who's hearts are larger than life. I am proud to be part of this wonderful community of caring, loving people.
Kate Reddan

So many beautiful hearts ... and you are such a sweet person Kim. Your photos and words radiate friendship and happiness and eacn one of us feels welcome here.

Kim, it was so wonderful to see all the hearts. There is so much good in this world if we keep our eyes on the positive rather then all the negative we are bombarded with. Life is not always easy and if we live long enough we will be faced with hard things or things that are not easy to accept. Our world is still filled with great people with loving hearts-if we will just see it that way-Sorry I got on my soap box!! Thank you for all you did. You are the bestest!! Hugs, Marietta

I wondered if today would be 'heart day' and it was. The friendship that we have through this blog is so precious and I am thankful to be part of a group of such amazing folk. I am sorry I wasn't able to send a heart this time - but know my prayers and love have been with you Jack.
Know you are loved.

Those hearts are just beautiful. What a nice idea, and I know Jack will feel blessed.

Barbara Theobald

Kim I can only imagine how you felt opening each one of these hearts... thank you for bringing us together and all your hard work.. you are very special.. so many emotions I'm feeling at this moment as I read your words and enjoy each beautiful heart.. I feel so blessed to have had this opportunity to make a heart for Jack in memory of Tabatha along with many other blog friends... Hugs, Barbara

Privet and Holly

Kim, I just recently became a follower of yours and am just learning about the Hearts for Jack project. What an amazing act of love and kindness, inspired by a beautiful lady and the man who loved her. When my son was in kindergarten his teacher used to have each child in the class make an angel when there was a death of a grandparent or someone else in one of the children's families. She would attach all of the angels, hand to hand. Then she boxed them up and sent them to the surviving spouse or close family member. People were so touched by this! As I am by your sweet project. Thank you.

Nancy Maisenbach

The little pink heart was from me. I ordered it on Esty. It was made by Aimee and she was touched when I told her why I was purchasing it.
I can only imagine what receiving these hearts will mean to Jack and to his family. Your caring heart asking us to have caring hearts makes all our hearts grow loving and strong. I know I am a better person for coming here and learning from you how to be a more sensitive and caring human being.
Thank you!!!!!
Nancy M.

Kim, this whole thing was just BEAUTIFUL. What words can't say, these hearts and the people who made them DID. I pray they will be a great, great encouragement to Jack.

Tanna a.k.a. Noni

Kim, this is my first visit. This post is incredibly moving... fills my heart to bursting. May God bless each of you who expressed such warm and kind sympathies to Jack... and may he be blessed and comforted in his loss.

As I viewed the little hearts and read the posts above I find my eyes are welling up and I feel tugging at my heart strings.

Lynda Bee

Dear Kim:
The results were amazing! You are such a dear
and precious soul for collecting these for Jack.
May it help him to know that we are all thinking of him!
I was also touched by the sweet little heart from Karly !
There are so many wonderful people in this world,
this is just a small reminder !
I hope they brighten Jack's life as they radiate
their love. It is obvious they were sent by some very
special people.
Blessings of Spring!

Carol Adams

Many thanks to Tammy for the idea and to Kim for making it happen.
I so enjoyed fashioning my heart. I looked thru all my fabric scraps, buttons etc and just started cutting. I had only a vague idea what I wanted to make. It just came together on it's own. I was in a sort of dream state as I did every stitch and thought about what to do next.
I hadn't done any needle work in many years so this was therapy for me.(I have Lupus/NMO which causes my joints to swell and ache.) I had originally meant to machine sew the heart but my machine was being funky and I didn't have the time to fight with it.
So this was a nice opportunity to get re-acquainted with a lost hobby.
Jack, you will always be in my thoughts and prayers. Just know that many people around this world are now connected to you in a special way.

Wow! Such beauty! Each one of those hearts represents a beautiful talented and creative individual who gave of their heart to warm someone else's, and ended up warming all of our hearts. It is only one shape but each look is so unique, just like the person that made it. May you all be proud for taking the time in this busy world to touch the life of another. I'm sure Tabitha is smiling from Heaven and thanking you for trying to make Jack's journey a little less painless.

Jeree P

It is amazing how just when you think there is no hope - you accidentially run on to a blog that gives you just a sense that this old world is gonna make it. To Kim and Jack, the heartmakers, Tammy and everyone that left a comment and was touched by this beautiful story of love - Thank you for sharing. May God Bless you all. You are in my prayers tonight.

Debbie @ SweetDreamsandMemories

All I can say is ...absolutely Amazing!!all of you ...and Kim for hosting such an awesome home (blog) as Daisy Cottage filled with so much love and kindness.

They are all so BEAUTIFUL!
I had to grab my husband to come and see them with me.
Did you get to count them all?
Thanks for sharing them all and thanks Jack for sharing Tabatha with us. We embrace you both!
Much love always and forever

Dear Kim - I have missed seeing you post, and been away from my computer. What a lovely post to come back to! Thank you for sharing these, and for making it possible for us to share our hearts (the ones we sent and the ones we have within) with Jack.

Kim, These hearts are amazing. I think you are pretty amazing too. I know this project was someone else's idea but you followed through and spread the word. You took the time to make sure we all got to see these beautiful, beautiful creations before you sent them on to Jack. Bless your "heart" and thank-you for being so special.

Debbie from Texas

Kim, Let this post be a reminder to all of us and those reading this that there are many loving and caring people around you. You just have to reach out. I hope that Jack will know when he sees the hearts made that we all care and are praying for him and his family.God bless each one of you who participated and for those who prayed for Jack.Kim deserves a special big ((hug)) for doing this. We love you!

What a wonderful outpouring of love for Jack. He is going to be overwhelmed when he receives the package. I can feel the love that went into those hearts and he will too. That was so thoughtful of Tammy to think of it and kind of you to organize the whole thing.
Hugs, Rhondi

I now know first hand how powerful blogging really is. Not only has my heart grown ten fold from visiting Jeanne, Mrs. Magpie, CC and the rest of the girls, I see how caring they all are for making such beautiful art hearts for Jack. I can only imagine how overwhelmed he will be when the mail arrives.
It's all about LOVE.
Love Claudie
P.S. I left something with Mrs. Magpie for you. I'm sure she will bring it to you in the near future. She's very busy getting her house in St. Augustine ready for spring.

our HEARTS and prayers are with you Jack - we'd like to pray with you : Dear Father God, in the name of your Holy and merciful son, Jesus cover Jack from head to toe in the blood that was shed for his and all your children's salvation. Give Jack peace that surpasses all understanding so that there will continue to be complete healing not only of body but, mind and soul. We thank you for loving your precious son and bringing him to a place where his HEART is burning with love and conviction to do your will in the name of your Son Jesus. We know Lord you will provide Jack with all the needs of the family, financially, emotionally, spiritually and grant, in all trials, that he be a witness to your faithfulness. Thank you, Father, Thank you son, Thank you, Holy Spirit -Amen.
We love you Kim- thank you for opening up your HEART.

We love you, Dave, Maria and Lazarus Lopez - We are there in Spirit - Know that our HEARTS are there with you.

What a remarkable story and a truly lovely way to reach out and touch Jack in what must be his darkest hour. I feel so encouraged by the generosity which you inspired and the hope which is what we all need so desperately!

Heidi - Heart and Home

Hi Dear Kim,
Okay, wiping away tears now...
Thanks for letting us share our love in this simple way. I hope Jack will understand that he isn't alone. Thank you for bringing us all together.

Susan Ramey Cleveland

Kim, thanks so much for sharing Jack's hearts with us. They brought a few tears to my eyes too. I'll go by right now and thank Tammy.

Kim, I too find your blog so uplifting, just as Jack's wife did. When I first found it, it brought me such peace at a sad, difficult time. It was like a soothing balm. God bless! The hearts are beautiful! Such thoughtful people out there!

Lynda Bee

I too find your blog so uplifting. Sometimes we just get so
busy in our everyday lives, that we don't stop to smell the
roses! You just remind us each day that we truly need to
enjoy each day to the fullest ! You are such a precious
gal who is so passionate about life. You blog is such a
peaceful place.
Reading over these comments, brought tears to my eyes.
Let it remind us how precious life is. (This is my second
post after seeing Jack's hearts.)
This is for Jack:
God didn't promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow, nor sun without rain. But he did promise strength
for the day, comfort for the tears, and light for the way!
May you find peace in the days ahead.

Hi Kim. I have just found your blog through Valentina and just wanted to say what wonderful people you and your blog friends are. What a wonderful, kind and heartfelt gesture for you to organise and for all your friends to contribute to. I am sure that Jack will find peace in knowing how many caring, loving people are out there, from all over the world. God bless you.

magpie chic

What a lovely, lovely thing to do. Those hearts are all so beautiful. What a privaledge to have been such a part of someones life.

Almost too hard to read, it breaks my heart and lifts me up all at the same time. Bless those who did this wonderful selfless act and those that will receive the blessings from it...

amazing loving friends sharing their amazing loving hearts..thank YOU Kim for your part in this..prayers for Jack and his family and for God to give you strength and peace during this time..and the future...

They are all so beautiful...unique, individual and lovingly made. It's what we are all about, isn't it? How amazing that hearts came from so many different places on the Earth! Thank-you, Kim for doing this special, wonderful thing...I was just a small part of it and I appreciate the sweet comments, but everyone is such a dear & generous heart. I think we all wish we had the power to heal, to take away pain & restore loss...this gesture shows that.

Danell Rakes

I am Tabathas aunt. This is the first time I have been on this web page. And I am truly touched with the out pouring of feelings and love for someone SO special to us. You ALL have touched this entire family. Thank you so much for all your love and personal feelings. I knew her from the moment she was born and realize God really took an Angel home to soon. If anyone had ever had a chance to talk to Tabatha in person you would have realized you had talked to someone who still needed to be here with us, but has taken on a greater mission. And she will guide me in every thing I do from now on. She is my Guardian Angel and I thank God he gave her to us as long as He did.

My heart hurts every day without her, but she has made me aware of real love and family means.

I miss you Tab,

Love you to eternity,

Aunt Danell

Elizabeth Marchus

Dear Kim,
It has taken me three days just to be able to write this note. I have looked at each heart over and over again and the love is just amazing that shines through each and everyone!. This wonderful out pour of love for Jack has just touched all of our hearts and will be remembered.
Big, Big hugs and love, Elizabeth

Dearest Kim,

I can't find the word's to express how I feel as I scroll down and see all of the hearts that were made. Beautiful each and every one of them. I feel so blessed to have been a part of this out pouring of love. I pray that we keep it alive and on going. There are so many other's we may know who are grieving. It may be a relative, friend, neighbor, co-worker, or a complete stranger in need of a show of love. I pray that we continue and show other's the same love and compassion that we have all shown for Jack.
Continued prayer's for Jack and the family.

Wow! What an amazing testament of heartfelt kindness. I am sure Jack and his family will be overwhelmed when they receive all the hearts made in Tabatha's honor.

Thanks for servicing as the conduit to bring this together.

Sylvia Davis

That was the SWEETEST post I have ever read and seen! The hearts that everyone made were just perfect. I know that Jack will be blessed and Tabatha would have been so honored too!

Each and every heart is just beautiful, and I know they were made with love and care. I will leave this link open all day so I can slowly enjoy each and every one. Kim, thank you again for the kindness of your heart in managing all of this!

To Jack: May God continue to heal your heart in the loss of sweet Tabatha. You continue to linger in my thoughts and heart for His blessings on your life.

Wow, I am speechless at the amount of hearts that were sent and the beauty of each amazing! So much love was sent with each heart...Thank you Kim for doing this, I am sure it will touch Jack's heart in so many ways....

Paula Keeler

Kim, THank you so much for doing this. I have made my heart for Jack but have not gotten it in the mail yet "so sorry" I have been with my dear momma who is not doing so well herself, so can I still mail you the one I made?

THank you once again Paula

I love this, Kim! This was the best idea, and I enjoyed participating even if I can't really sew. Thank goodness for glue AND for someone who can sew! As you might not know, I cheated on the middle heart I sent. LOL! I just couldn't send him my other two without a really cute one to round it off. ;-)

I loved all the hearts. This was such a neat thing. Thank you, dearest Kim, for doing this. It was a blessing to participate.

Sheila :-)

Kim and Jack,
I made my humble little heart and sent it along. My sewing skills are in the beginning stages!
Jack, I just want you to know that my little family was praying for yours and I hope you'll look at our little tokens now and again and feel cared for, supported and loved. And Kim, thank you from the bottom of my heart for your time, effort and love. Thank you so much for doing this for Jack.
I loved seeing all of the hearts and reading who they were from.

  • "I just discovered your blog and am blown away with the comfortable, almost nostalgic feel of it...almost like finding a long-lost friend after many years apart...somehow familiar, but all so exciting and new." ~ Jane

Thank You Dena!

  • "Kim, I love your blog. I so appreciate you sharing every day. I miss you when you're gone. Losing my dear sweet baby boy in Iraq has made me treasure life and those so dear to me. Reading your blog is such therapy for me. You have made me treasure the finer things in life that I use to overlook. Birds singing, flowers blooming, my home and all of the treasures within it. I'm not sure that I ever looked at a teacup or saucer and saw such detail and beauty in it." ~ Dena

Thank You Grace!

  • "I would like to let you know what a joy it is to wake up each morning and read your delightful blog. I always feel as if you are speaking directly to me. Since I was diagnosed with an immune disease a year ago I wanted only to read positive and very inspiring blogs and your blog was the first I found. I think maybe the good Lord meant for me to find your blog and since then it has been nothing but smiles all around. I have tried very hard to stay positive about this disease and very up beat. I know that there is no cure and I have accepted this, but reading things with a positive message and filled with so much love helps. This is where you come in and I just wanted to say thank you from the bottom of my heart and to let you know how very much you and Miss Maggie are loved." ~ Grace

Thank You Francesca!

  • "Oh my! I have just stepped into heaven. A nostalgic, magic, getaway place where folk love one another and life is sweet. Kim, you will probably never know just how many hearts you have touched with your site. " ~ Francesca

Thank You Kathy!

  • "I visited my friends with their tasteful beige homes and sometimes questioned if there was anyone else in this world who loved the things I did. Then I found Daisy Cottage and a whole community of other women who shop the side of the road, paint their furniture fun colors, and aren't afraid to fill their homes with touches of whimsy and fun. What a relief! We aren't alone! I'm not alone. Thanks for all your inspiration and for confidently sharing your home and the idea that we can have fun with our decorating. I never get tired of visiting here Kim." ~ Kathy

Thank you Rue!

  • "That hankie is like you and your blog Kim. In the middle of all of the other beautiful hankies, it's the one that stands out and makes you feel at home." ~ Rue

Thank You Jeanette!

  • "Sigh.... between your music, red and yellow mellow feeling and wonderful writing I just feel so calm. What would I do without you in the morning with my cup of coffee." ~ Jeanette

Thank You Lenna!

  • "My eyes have been opened to a world I never knew existed. Such vibrant creativity, such caring community: it literally takes my breath away. After so much loneliness and isolation it is overwhelming to me that such a world even exists. In time I hope to be able to fill my garden of life with lovely, loving friends instead of the weeds of loneliness. Until that time lace tablecloths will come out of storage, music and lovely scents will fill the air of this home. And I shall visit the Daisy Cottage when I feel despair raise its dark, obscuring head, for I know from experience, that it is ever lurking behind that next bout of pain and weakness. Your kind and generous response has strengthened my resolve, you have helped me more than you will ever know, my new-found friend." ~ Lenna

Thank You Rose!

  • "Here's how I can best describe into words how your blog made me feel. You know when you wake up in the morning and there's an early morning thunderstorm and every room in your house is as dark as night? Then, the rain and thunder stop and the sun comes shining through all the windows and you just know it's going to be a beautiful, sunshine day? Well, that's how finding Dear Daisy Cottage made me feel. From the bottom of my heart, thank you Kim. You blessed my day and may God do the same for you." ~ Lisa B.

  • "Thank you for your wonderful blog. I have been "lurking" but had to share with you how much you have helped me embrace the fun of decorating. I came to your blog looking for pictures to inspire me as I redecorate my house with cottage style. Today I was so tangled up in doing it "right" that it was really depressing me. I visited your blog again for some fresh ideas and came away realizing that there is no "right." Just me being me and enjoying my home! I am laying here in bed with tears in my eyes - tears of happiness that it is okay to be me and let that shine through in my house and what I wear and what I make with my hands. You are God's gift to me today and I thank Him and you." ~ Anne
