Deep breath.
As I type, I am blinking back tears that have become VERY familiar as I have worked on the Hearts For Jack project. I will be honest - this has been overwhelming for me to do but not because of the little bit of time involved. No, it has been overwhelming because this loving act that you have carried out has got to be one of the most beautiful acts of kindness that I have ever witnessed. You created a little heart from within your own giving heart and shared your token of friendship and support with someone you have never met. You shared your heart with Jack. A man who so tenderly and graciously shared HIS heart and his true love, Tabatha, with us. And as you know, she was also ONE of us. Tabatha was a beautiful member of our little family. For those of you who may not be familiar with Jack's story, you may read about it here. This project was also overwhelming because the emotion involved is so raw, and yet so sacred too. Do you know what I mean? Life. Life is so fragile. And we never ever ever want to lose the ones that we love.
Deep breath.
As I would find your boxes and envelopes in my mailbox - with some arriving from far away places like Poland, Ireland, England, Cyprus, Australia, Puerto Rico, and Canada - my heart would skip a beat and I would quickly give your package a quiet hug. I tucked the boxes and envelopes in my tote bag and brought them home to the dining room table where they remained safe and sound until I was able to sit down and open them all. And as I opened each one and as my eyes brimmed with tears again, I whispered your name out loud and thanked you. Every single heart is absolutely perfect. Every single heart is absolutely beautiful. And of course they are perfect and beautiful - they represent YOU.
The hearts that I have received have all been photographed and along with your cards and letters they have been safely placed inside two big shipping boxes. I will check the post office on Saturday for those hearts that may just now be arriving and I will include those of course. And then these precious tokens will be on their way.
Your hearts are going home.
Home to Jack and in honor of Tabatha.
So my dear ones ... it is my PRIVILEGE to share Jack's hearts with all of you now before they begin their next journey.

Aren't they beautiful?
And thank you so much to those of you who included sweet sweet things in your packages for me. You are too kind and I LOVED everything. I hope to share some of those generous gifts on the blog in the days ahead. I will share my little heart for Jack on Monday.
If you'd like to leave a message for Jack to go along with his hearts you may do so below in the comment section. I know that many of you already did here but some of you may want to leave one for him now.
I'd like to thank Tammy again for this lovely project was HER idea. Thank you Tammy. What a beautiful thing you and YOUR heart created.
I'd like to thank dear Jack for sharing with me and all of you about his Tabatha. Jack I am honored to call you friend. As I have personally shared with you, there are NO words to describe how I feel. All I know is that for the rest of my life, Tabatha and her precious spirit will ALWAYS be in my heart and soul. She is an angel to us all. May God bless her and you forever and ever.
And my friends ...
Well, you KNOW how much I love you.
So I will simply say:
Love,
Kim
Kim, I did not know the story of Jack but I can see there is an amazing out pouring of love for this person. Beautiful describes the pillows so lovingly made and mailed and the people who took time to send them. This is how caring people show their concern and love for those in need of a heart hug.
This just makes me smile.
Blessings to Jack and you for all the work you have done as well.
Love, Jeanne

Oh Kim, there are tears rolling down my cheeks right now. I can only imagine Jack opening those boxes and being reminded of the goodness in the world for someone they have never met but who feel a kinship just the same. This little token does not even try to replace his loss but hopefully it will stir fond memories of the lives that his beloved Tabatha touched. Thank you for following the tug of your heart spurred on by sweet Tammy and reaching out to your sisters to act in such a loving way. My prayers are with Jack anew. Blessings Patty

Kim, I was so blessed to be able to make a heart for Jack and hopefully bring some amount of joy to his broken heart at this time. All the hearts are incredible and your pictures were just beautiful. You could see the love in each heart that was pictured on your blog!!! Thanks to all the people who helped make this project a great success and especially to you, Kim, for co-ordinating it all. Oh my, I just finding out all of this, went back and read the original letter and did some crying too. I have two friends recently diagnosed with breast cancer and am worried about them. You are an amazing woman to pull off such a wonderful gift for this man to remember his wife. I know I would miss my husband tremendously, I have great compassion for him. The hearts are beautiful! They made me cry! Tears, Steph

Kim, These are so so very beautiful. This story has been touching from start to finish. I wanted to participate in this project of giving and caring, but alas, my own life has demands beyond what I can currently meet and so I have carried the story of Jack and Tabitha close in my heart. I've thought of him often and wondered about all the stories behind the hearts he will receive. I trust he is truly finding peace and comfort. Thank you for your time and effort in sending hope and love his way from around the world. I find this to be almost to amazing for words. xo rachel

Your words really hit me hard sometimes Kim. With a special little one everyday isn't easy and I take it for granted, I am tired. But today we will have a little party....we will celebrate LIFE!!! For Madigan, for Jack, Tabatha, YOU, Tammy and for all the others out there who understand!!
I am sorry I didn't have time to make a heart....I don't sew well and have been busy with getting prepared for Maddie's next hospital stay...now we are home healing! Maybe I could send it late....*sigh!
What a perfect gesture!
Adoring you,

What a sweet bunch of hearts! My message for Jack is that we all know the pain of losing someone loved, that is why we took the time to make and send a token of our hearts and our support. I pray that God will use this to show Jack that he is not alone and that healing will come with time. All our best to you Jack!

Kim...the hearts are just beautiful...I am so impressed with each persons talent...you can just see their personalities coming through in each heart...my hope for Jack is that when he sees our little hearts that he feels the love Tabitha had for your blog and why she'd want to visit your blog and be a part of the Daisy Cottage family...I hope he has a large basket to display them all...they are too gorgeous to be hidden in a box...I wanted to tell you too Kim that I think it was amazing that you did this...I know that it took lots of time...lugging your tote bag to the post office and then taking time to unwrap them all...not to mention photograph (by the way they were wonderful) them. Kim~
I am overwhelmed with the generosity and caring of people right now. So many times all we hear about is the negativity in the world and how people mistreat each other. Your posts and this project has reaffirmed to me that people are good, loving, and care about their fellow man. I did not know the story of Tabitha and Jack. It is a tragic thing that has happened, but look how many people's lives have been touch and changed by this brave woman that none of us ever met.
I can only imagine how Jack is going to feel when he gets these hearts. I am sure that he will treasure them for the rest of his life.
Thank you for sharing this with us. It has inspired me to continue to try to be positive and never give up on the kindness of others.
Love~

Dear Jack I pray that these hearts will fill your heart with peace and joy when they arrive.
Thank you Kim and ladies. My heart is filled with joy to know that each and everyone one of you cares so much. This is what life is all about isnt it... giving, caring, loving, one another.

Kim, my eyes were filling with tears, but yet my heart was so touched as I was looking at all these beautiful hearts lovingly made for Jack. I can only imagine him opening the boxes filled with hearts and how overwhelmed he will be with all kinds of emotions - gratitude, happiness, love, and yes, even sadness.
You see, I can relate to Jack in a very small way, as I recently (6+ months ago) lost 21-year old son. I know how much this loving gift will mean to him.
God bless you, Kim for organizing this project for Jack.

What a beautiful job you did with the display and photography of the hearts for Jack. I became quite emotional watching them all. Thanks for all that you were willing to do in order to make this possible. Thanks Tammy for this thoughtful idea.
This is the first time I've tried making something like this and must admit that I was quite excited and enjoyed putting it together, maybe it was because I was thinking of Jack and Tabatha and put my heart into it.
Thanks again Kim for all the hard work.

What a wonderful, heartfelt, uplifting post!! The time and the talents it took to make these are amazing, and the dedication to a friend---that is such a wonderful thing.
I recognize fabrics, buttons, stitches; the cheer and the color and the no-two-alike creations of a group of happenstance friends, joining in to create such beauty and such an outpouring of love are a magical thing, come together by the efforts of many joined in one purpose.
This has been so stirring to witness, this Project of Love, and each stitch, each prayer, each tear left upon the work only enhance its value and its charm.
Thank you all for sharing these stunning pieces of yourselves, and for choosing such a sweet, memorable way to comfort one friend by showing such love and regard in remembering another.
And thank you, Kim, for being the heartbeat of this amazing gift.

So, so super sweet! Ok, here goes the tears......
I am just in awe how each heart is so unique in their own way - just like all of us. Life is not easy, however I believe that God works His magic through all of us. HIS heart and love endures us to keep going. Though our loved ones will be carried in our hearts forever, we need to know that we will be with them again in Heaven. This keeps me focused. Eternity... How wonderful is that?
Sending you, Tammy and Jack a BIG HUG and affection from the bottom of my heart. Jack, it never gets easier, but just know that Tabatha is with you in spirit. She loves you so very, very much. I pray that these hearts of our love will comfort you in the days ahead. Lean on God, dear Jack, for He is our salvation, our peace, our Father.
much love to all of you,
Becky

Have you considered sending him a tree style ornament holder so that he can hang these up? I don't know if a man would do that or not but he'd be able to see them more completely than keeping them in a basket (or whatever container).

Life is not always easy and if we live long enough we will be faced with hard things or things that are not easy to accept. Kim, I just recently became a follower of yours and am just learning about the Hearts for Jack project. What an amazing act of love and kindness, inspired by a beautiful lady and the man who loved her. When my son was in kindergarten his teacher used to have each child in the class make an angel when there was a death of a grandparent or someone else in one of the children's families. She would attach all of the angels, hand to hand. Then she boxed them up and sent them to the surviving spouse or close family member. People were so touched by this! As I am by your sweet project. Thank you.

The little pink heart was from me. I ordered it on Esty. It was made by Aimee and she was touched when I told her why I was purchasing it.
I can only imagine what receiving these hearts will mean to Jack and to his family. Your caring heart asking us to have caring hearts makes all our hearts grow loving and strong. I know I am a better person for coming here and learning from you how to be a more sensitive and caring human being.
Thank you!!!!!

Many thanks to Tammy for the idea and to Kim for making it happen.
I so enjoyed fashioning my heart. I looked thru all my fabric scraps, buttons etc and just started cutting. I had only a vague idea what I wanted to make. It just came together on it's own. I was in a sort of dream state as I did every stitch and thought about what to do next.
I hadn't done any needle work in many years so this was therapy for me.(I have Lupus/NMO which causes my joints to swell and ache.) I had originally meant to machine sew the heart but my machine was being funky and I didn't have the time to fight with it.
So this was a nice opportunity to get re-acquainted with a lost hobby.
Jack, you will always be in my thoughts and prayers. Just know that many people around this world are now connected to you in a special way.

Wow! Such beauty! Each one of those hearts represents a beautiful talented and creative individual who gave of their heart to warm someone else's, and ended up warming all of our hearts. It is only one shape but each look is so unique, just like the person that made it. May you all be proud for taking the time in this busy world to touch the life of another. I'm sure Tabitha is smiling from Heaven and thanking you for trying to make Jack's journey a little less painless.

To Kim and Jack, the heartmakers, Tammy and everyone that left a comment and was touched by this beautiful story of love - Thank you for sharing. May God Bless you all. You are in my prayers tonight.

Dear Kim - I have missed seeing you post, and been away from my computer. What a lovely post to come back to! Thank you for sharing these, and for making it possible for us to share our hearts (the ones we sent and the ones we have within) with Jack.

Kim, These hearts are amazing. I think you are pretty amazing too. I know this project was someone else's idea but you followed through and spread the word. You took the time to make sure we all got to see these beautiful, beautiful creations before you sent them on to Jack. Bless your "heart" and thank-you for being so special.

What a wonderful outpouring of love for Jack. He is going to be overwhelmed when he receives the package. I can feel the love that went into those hearts and he will too. That was so thoughtful of Tammy to think of it and kind of you to organize the whole thing.

SO SO BEAUTIFUL KIM.
I now know first hand how powerful blogging really is. Not only has my heart grown ten fold from visiting Jeanne, Mrs. Magpie, CC and the rest of the girls, I see how caring they all are for making such beautiful art hearts for Jack. I can only imagine how overwhelmed he will be when the mail arrives.
It's all about LOVE.
Love Claudie

P.S. I left something with Mrs. Magpie for you. I'm sure she will bring it to you in the near future. She's very busy getting her house in St. Augustine ready for spring.

Kim, I too find your blog so uplifting, just as Jack's wife did. When I first found it, it brought me such peace at a sad, difficult time. It was like a soothing balm. God bless! The hearts are beautiful! Such thoughtful people out there!

Kim,
I too find your blog so uplifting. Sometimes we just get so
busy in our everyday lives, that we don't stop to smell the
roses! You just remind us each day that we truly need to
enjoy each day to the fullest ! You are such a precious
gal who is so passionate about life. You blog is such a
peaceful place.
Reading over these comments, brought tears to my eyes.
Let it remind us how precious life is. (This is my second
post after seeing Jack's hearts.)
This is for Jack:
God didn't promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow, nor sun without rain. But he did promise strength
for the day, comfort for the tears, and light for the way!
May you find peace in the days ahead.

Hi Kim. I have just found your blog through Valentina and just wanted to say what wonderful people you and your blog friends are. What a wonderful, kind and heartfelt gesture for you to organise and for all your friends to contribute to. I am sure that Jack will find peace in knowing how many caring, loving people are out there, from all over the world. God bless you.

They are all so beautiful...unique, individual and lovingly made. It's what we are all about, isn't it? How amazing that hearts came from so many different places on the Earth! Thank-you, Kim for doing this special, wonderful thing...I was just a small part of it and I appreciate the sweet comments, but everyone is such a dear & generous heart. I think we all wish we had the power to heal, to take away pain & restore loss...this gesture shows that.

I am Tabathas aunt. This is the first time I have been on this web page. And I am truly touched with the out pouring of feelings and love for someone SO special to us. You ALL have touched this entire family. Thank you so much for all your love and personal feelings. I knew her from the moment she was born and realize God really took an Angel home to soon. If anyone had ever had a chance to talk to Tabatha in person you would have realized you had talked to someone who still needed to be here with us, but has taken on a greater mission. And she will guide me in every thing I do from now on. She is my Guardian Angel and I thank God he gave her to us as long as He did.
My heart hurts every day without her, but she has made me aware of real love and family means.
I miss you Tab,
Love you to eternity,
Aunt Danell

Dear Kim,
It has taken me three days just to be able to write this note. I have looked at each heart over and over again and the love is just amazing that shines through each and everyone!. This wonderful out pour of love for Jack has just touched all of our hearts and will be remembered.
Big, Big hugs and love, Elizabeth

Dearest Kim,
I can't find the word's to express how I feel as I scroll down and see all of the hearts that were made. Beautiful each and every one of them. I feel so blessed to have been a part of this out pouring of love. I pray that we keep it alive and on going. There are so many other's we may know who are grieving. It may be a relative, friend, neighbor, co-worker, or a complete stranger in need of a show of love. I pray that we continue and show other's the same love and compassion that we have all shown for Jack.
Continued prayer's for Jack and the family.
Blessings,
Sheila

Each and every heart is just beautiful, and I know they were made with love and care. I will leave this link open all day so I can slowly enjoy each and every one. Kim, thank you again for the kindness of your heart in managing all of this!
To Jack: May God continue to heal your heart in the loss of sweet Tabatha. You continue to linger in my thoughts and heart for His blessings on your life.

I love this, Kim! This was the best idea, and I enjoyed participating even if I can't really sew. Thank goodness for glue AND for someone who can sew! As you might not know, I cheated on the middle heart I sent. LOL! I just couldn't send him my other two without a really cute one to round it off. ;-)
I loved all the hearts. This was such a neat thing. Thank you, dearest Kim, for doing this. It was a blessing to participate.
XO,
Sheila :-)

Kim and Jack,
I made my humble little heart and sent it along. My sewing skills are in the beginning stages!
Jack, I just want you to know that my little family was praying for yours and I hope you'll look at our little tokens now and again and feel cared for, supported and loved. And Kim, thank you from the bottom of my heart for your time, effort and love. Thank you so much for doing this for Jack.
I loved seeing all of the hearts and reading who they were from.
