Let Your Home Be Your Heart

  • What I hope for my readers and for all keepers of the nest, is that they embrace their homes with their heart and all of the passion that it holds. I want them to know that they can decorate on a limited budget by seeing things in new ways; by rescuing the broken and transforming the ugly. I hope that they flaunt their favorite color and decorate their life with it. I hope that their homes feel like one giant hug that welcomes them each and every time they walk through their front door. More than anything I want everyone to have their own home-sweet-home dream come true! xo, Kim

I'm more of a savory. ;)

Puppy can sit on my lap, anytime.

You are bringing on Florida memories for me, at disney, I had fresh squeezed orange juice everyday, whole milk and sausage, biscuits and gravy. I gained seven pounds in seven days. Love the South! :)

You can make me some bisquits, I'll let you. ;) I just made cheddar bisquits the other day, yum!

I'm on hubby's new puter where I can access your blog, hooray!!!!!!!!!!!!!

sondra

Salty please. Because YOU are already too sweet! The OJ looks delicious. All I have is Sunny D in the frig, so I'll just drink yours with my eyes and stick with the coffee for now...but I might pretend it's in that pretty red cup you posted yesterday. Slurp...ahhhh. It tastes better already. Have a great day! Chris M.

Vicki

Robin

Hi Kim,
Love you blog and creativity. Your doggie is adorable :)

Mary Lou

Yum on the orange juice! I have a cat that has that same routine. He is like a baby, and I joke that if I could put him in a snuggli and carry him around all day, he'd be so happy.

I love your fun questions in the morning! Always cheery and always bright ~

Definitely sweet -- that's my weakness. And I'd share with Maggie, so let her know.

Miss Jean

When I lived in Michigan my grandparents would visit Florida and bring us back "real Florida oranges". They were so delicious! I can still remember how the juice tasted.

Maggie - what can I say about Maggie other than she is ADORABLE!

Danielle

I would love salty and sweet together please! I am home today and not at work, so I am going to go let my chihuahua Isa hop on my lap for a while.

maisy' mom

Sweet and Salty has become my new fave!! But going cold turkey today thanks to Tiffany at Shabby Scraps...so I will be looking forward to your beautiful pictures.

My mother, who always compliments me (that's part of a Mother's job description, right?)gave me one of the best compliments!!! She said I reminded her of you, I could cry :). Best compliment evvvveeeerrrr :)

Hugs, Elizabeth (Home is Where the Heart is)

Susan Freeman

Miss Maggie may sit in my lap anytime she likes. She will have to cuddle with Bentley though. I'm sure he won't mind.

Love,
Susan and Bentley

Rachel Folden

Kim, you are hysterical. I thought I was the only one who "talked" to myself...I love you precious Miss Maggie. She looks so soft and cuddly and loving. My dog Jake is a Jack Russell and he is all wiry and his tight little body is very muscle, not very cuddly, but he dies and goes to heaven anytime you allow him to jump into your lap, anyone's lap! Thank you for your wonderful blog. I can't wait to open it each morning to be inspired.

I'm glad you're feeling better too! Have a super day.

Rachel

Lynn Paterson

Oh, the juice looks so good!!!!! Give your doggie a big hug for me.....so precious! I want something sweet!

Kimberly Padilla

How sweet Kim and how cute is Maggie! I am actually going raw today, so the orange juice will do me fine. :) Have a great day!!

Tracey

Kim...I just found your wonderful blog, and I'm so happy to have stumbled into your lovely world! I'm excited to read your older posts....you are a very talented photographer and you have a beautiful home!
Thanks for sharing your loveliness :)

Tracey

ps..I have a new blog, if you're ever in the mood to take a peek... myhouseofgiggles.blogspot.com. I'm doing a little giveaway right now :)

Pam

I am a new reader of your blog. Love it! And, I am a proud mamma of two mini dachshunds. Aren't they just the BEST :)

Corinna Lyons-Revello

Oh, I would love to pick her up and hold her ALL DAY! She is so adorable....

Sheila

That sweet little furbaby is just so beautiful. Mine need to head to the groomer but it is raining today.

I wish I could learn how to groom them myself. It is expensive with two babies going to the beauty shop. Raining and snowing in Georgia. Have a peaceful day! Sheila

Bella StyleBook

Yep...got one of those too. She {Annie} would be in my lap all the time. She really comes in handy in the winter...I always have a warm lap. It is really funny to see my husband and I in the evenings when we are watching TV. He has a lap full of cat...I the dog. I guess it is what empty nesters do. Have a good one!

Betty Jo

Oh Yum! The orange juice looks so good. You're making me homesick!! I do have a grapefruit in the house, think I'll go and eat that. Will be right back to hold your baby, can't resist those eyes! ♥

Nancy Hutson Maisenbach

Kim,
Sweet is good and so is salty soooo I made a trail mix with M & M's, raisins and mixed nuts. OJ would go great with it. So what you gonna make? Maggie looks like she is interested too.
Happy Tuesday to all,
Nancy M.

elyse

a.m. = sweet

Donna Hurlbut

Kim and Maggie,
Bailey(my 90lb irish setter who thinks she's a lap dog) and I would love to have something salty and sweet with you. Oh and fresh squeezed Florida orange juice reminds me of Christmas in Florida spent with Mom and Dad. Sweet memories, thanks, Donna

Daisy Cottage

Dear Kate,

Twizzlers and salty buttery popcorn are exactly what I must have when I go to the movies!! It's a good thing that I only go to the movies about twice a year!!!

;-)
Me

TheCottageGirl

When The Cottage Girl craves something salty and sweet, it has to be Kettle Corn! The best kind is cooked in an open air kettle found at the local outlet mall, or at Busch Gardens Williamsburg, Virginia!

Debbie from Texas

I have a sweet tooth!! Raised on lots of hot cake from the oven! I always feel like I need something sweet every meal!! Terrible, I know....but life is too short!I love the Florida orange honey that I had years ago. (Wonderful picture of Maggie, by the way.)

Kathleen Grace

Mmmmm, sweet I think:>) How can you resist that little face? Maggie is so adorable!

Francine

Anything sweet would be fine by me!!!

Cindy S

I'll have a mix too, please! Have I told you lately how much I adore your blog? Thank you for being so unabashedly YOU and for encouraging all of us to do the same~ I love you and your blog, too. Hugs, Cindy S.

Brenda@Coffeeteabooksandme

Definitely something sweet, cinnamon rolls perhaps?

You have a sweet doggy face looking for attention and I have a Maine coon kitty who has been pawing me to get off the computer so she can get attention.

We know who is in charge at both places. :)

Gail

I'll just have some OJ for now thanks.
I've caught your cold.

Sheila

Salty! I'm on sweet restriction. But I will happily hold that sweet one in my lap while you cook!

XO,

Sheila :-)

Pauline

Oh, I can't make up my mind, both sound good! So that's what I'll have - some of both, please! And I'll gladly hold Miss Maggie (just can't resist that pleading look!) I get that same little look from my Peanut every day . . . simply irresistible!

Kathy

The Diva and I are on the same wave length.

Teacup Lane (Sandy)

Oh Kim thank you for my laugh of the day! Ms. Maggie is so cute - I wouldn't be able to get anything done if she looked at me like that - I would be picking her up and hugging her all day.

Teacup Lane (Sandy)

Kristen

Both. It was a long day. We ended up having pizza and chocolate after.

Wendy

Im enjoying a cup of OJ myself :)

I prefer salty!

Debbie

I got such a laugh from your dog. What a sweetie. My dog has the same stare when I am eating cookies and he wants some! He would definitely go for the sweet! I am new here and love your blog.

Thank You Dear Sis!

Thank you Fifi!

  • "It's people like yourself that make everything beautiful and worthwhile." ~ Fifi

Thank You Ida!

  • Kim I just wanted to thank you again for allowing us into your sweet home! I absolutely loved being there and looking around with you. Your hospitality and sweet spirit make the home even more beautiful! Thanks for reminding me that one day I too will have my "dream come true!" ~ Ida - MOPS Member

Thank You Jane!

  • "I just discovered your blog and am blown away with the comfortable, almost nostalgic feel of it...almost like finding a long-lost friend after many years apart...somehow familiar, but all so exciting and new." ~ Jane

Thank You Dena!

  • "Kim, I love your blog. I so appreciate you sharing every day. I miss you when you're gone. Losing my dear sweet baby boy in Iraq has made me treasure life and those so dear to me. Reading your blog is such therapy for me. You have made me treasure the finer things in life that I use to overlook. Birds singing, flowers blooming, my home and all of the treasures within it. I'm not sure that I ever looked at a teacup or saucer and saw such detail and beauty in it." ~ Dena

Thank You Grace!

  • "I would like to let you know what a joy it is to wake up each morning and read your delightful blog. I always feel as if you are speaking directly to me. Since I was diagnosed with an immune disease a year ago I wanted only to read positive and very inspiring blogs and your blog was the first I found. I think maybe the good Lord meant for me to find your blog and since then it has been nothing but smiles all around. I have tried very hard to stay positive about this disease and very up beat. I know that there is no cure and I have accepted this, but reading things with a positive message and filled with so much love helps. This is where you come in and I just wanted to say thank you from the bottom of my heart and to let you know how very much you and Miss Maggie are loved." ~ Grace

Thank You Francesca!

  • "Oh my! I have just stepped into heaven. A nostalgic, magic, getaway place where folk love one another and life is sweet. Kim, you will probably never know just how many hearts you have touched with your site. " ~ Francesca

Thank You Kathy!

  • "I visited my friends with their tasteful beige homes and sometimes questioned if there was anyone else in this world who loved the things I did. Then I found Daisy Cottage and a whole community of other women who shop the side of the road, paint their furniture fun colors, and aren't afraid to fill their homes with touches of whimsy and fun. What a relief! We aren't alone! I'm not alone. Thanks for all your inspiration and for confidently sharing your home and the idea that we can have fun with our decorating. I never get tired of visiting here Kim." ~ Kathy

Thank you Rue!

  • "That hankie is like you and your blog Kim. In the middle of all of the other beautiful hankies, it's the one that stands out and makes you feel at home." ~ Rue

Thank You Jeanette!

  • "Sigh.... between your music, red and yellow mellow feeling and wonderful writing I just feel so calm. What would I do without you in the morning with my cup of coffee." ~ Jeanette

Thank You Lenna!

  • "My eyes have been opened to a world I never knew existed. Such vibrant creativity, such caring community: it literally takes my breath away. After so much loneliness and isolation it is overwhelming to me that such a world even exists. In time I hope to be able to fill my garden of life with lovely, loving friends instead of the weeds of loneliness. Until that time lace tablecloths will come out of storage, music and lovely scents will fill the air of this home. And I shall visit the Daisy Cottage when I feel despair raise its dark, obscuring head, for I know from experience, that it is ever lurking behind that next bout of pain and weakness. Your kind and generous response has strengthened my resolve, you have helped me more than you will ever know, my new-found friend." ~ Lenna

Thank You Rose!

  • "What I love best about Daisy Cottage is Kim. I love the way you appreciate every good thing in life and embrace joy in every moment." ~ Rose

Thank You Lisa!

  • "Here's how I can best describe into words how your blog made me feel. You know when you wake up in the morning and there's an early morning thunderstorm and every room in your house is as dark as night? Then, the rain and thunder stop and the sun comes shining through all the windows and you just know it's going to be a beautiful, sunshine day? Well, that's how finding Dear Daisy Cottage made me feel. From the bottom of my heart, thank you Kim. You blessed my day and may God do the same for you." ~ Lisa B.

Thank you Pamela!

  • "I am so touched by your words and photographs. Whether in happy or sad times, you inspire my heart and soul. We all need each other's light and you offer us that dose of sunshine." ~ Pamela

Thank you Joy!

  • "Your blog has helped me start to see the beauty in life again." ~ Joy

Thank You Anne!

  • "Thank you for your wonderful blog. I have been "lurking" but had to share with you how much you have helped me embrace the fun of decorating. I came to your blog looking for pictures to inspire me as I redecorate my house with cottage style. Today I was so tangled up in doing it "right" that it was really depressing me. I visited your blog again for some fresh ideas and came away realizing that there is no "right." Just me being me and enjoying my home! I am laying here in bed with tears in my eyes - tears of happiness that it is okay to be me and let that shine through in my house and what I wear and what I make with my hands. You are God's gift to me today and I thank Him and you." ~ Anne

Thank You Tracy!

  • "Your words and thoughts of encouragement help me see myself with value. You are a blessing. Thank you." ~ Tracy

Thank you Karen!

  • "Your humble spirit has not changed through your many posts here in Blogland. You have been blessed with a special gift and I am very thankful you share it with us." ~ Karen

Thank You Betty Jo!

  • "You truly inspire me to do whatever I can in my own little nest. I've always been an artistic dreamer, but you've enlarged my dreams with your way of seeing." ~ Betty Jo
