Let Your Home Be Your Heart

  • What I hope for my readers and for all keepers of the nest, is that they embrace their homes with their heart and all of the passion that it holds. I want them to know that they can decorate on a limited budget by seeing things in new ways; by rescuing the broken and transforming the ugly. I hope that they flaunt their favorite color and decorate their life with it. I hope that their homes feel like one giant hug that welcomes them each and every time they walk through their front door. More than anything I want everyone to have their own home-sweet-home dream come true! xo, Kim

Your bliss makes me smile. Glad we are stuck with you. Thanks for making my morning.

Everyday I'm swooning over your house - today it's that fab quilt & the blue chair! I also adore that sweet dog - what a pal!

What more can you ask for....beautiful quilt, coffee and sweet little Maggie!

There is no other blog I adore as much as yours:)

Aw, what a sweet post. I always feel refreshed when I visit U.

Kim, I instantly became a "loyal" fan the minute I clicked onto your blog. As a young child, in Sunday School, we often sang the song... "in my heart there rings a melody, there rings a melody"... I am reminded of those precious words, when I come to visit each morning... with coffee in hand.

Good morning Kim! I just wanted to stop by and say a hello to you. I enjoy reading your blog every morning. It makes my day just a bit brighter than before I found your blog. :o) I hope you have a wonderfully beautiful sunny day!

By the way, Maggie looks very at home on the quilt, I'm sure if she is anything like my puppy she spends a lot of time on it. :o)

Susan Freeman

I agree, you are loyal. But, you are also cheerful, friendly, sunny, fun and creative. All of the qualities we bloggers admire! I also have one word that is especially appropriate to describe Miss Maggie: PRECIOUS!

Susan and Bentley

I sat on my front porch last evening wrapped in my hand knit peacock shawl..rocking slowly in my black spindled rocking chair the beautiful spring nights.. oh and btw your stuck with us too! Love Sarahlynn

I wish we had a back porch like that! Heck, I wish we had one PERIOD. =-D Actually, some day we might have a loggia or whatever it's called.

These pics are so charming!

Mary Lou

I'm not sure which looks more inviting, the quilt or the raisin bread...
Oh yeah, it's MAGGIE!!

Aren't moments of Bliss wonderful?

Congrats on all the wonderful pictures in the magazines. I have to look for them next time I am at the book store.

I like being stuck wih you!

Forget to mention Maggie is adorable.

You are very loyal to your blog keep us uplifted and happy with your posts......thanks for doing that for us! One of the first things I do when I get to my store each day, is look for your post. It helps me start my day off on a fantastic note! Thanks!

Ah... I'm loyal, too. It's a good word. :)

Bliss, my husband and I used that word instead of love. ;)

We inscribed our wedding rings in secrecy and guess what? We both had bliss inside our wedding bands. :)

Bliss indeed. I feel it every time I come to visit. And loyal...that is perfect for you!

Ah.....a lovely quilt, pretty dishes, daisy's and coffee....bliss!

Kimberly Padilla

Kim, I love being stuck with you, because you are one of the first things I go searching after when I get on the computer. I am always excited to see what you have posted, and I am saddened and disappointed when there is nothing new from you. You have inspired me to do so much -- paint my kitchen yellow, start my own blog, go more to the church thrift shops down the street, etc... Loyal is a great word, and it is a great choice for you - but I think you are just as inspirational and kind as you are loyal. :)

Enjoy your day.

Susan Ramey Cleveland

what's Maggie's word?

Nothing like a quilt and a puppy doggie to have some bliss!! I'm actually sitting on the sofa with a quilt...and my little Yorkie girl "Chloe" is sleeping on it beside me. Ahhh....Bliss!!

The Beautiful Life

I'm on my "good" computer -- the one that lets me open Typepad! ;)

SOOO glad to hear from you!

Haven't been in your neck of the woods for a while -- I need to change that! Just been so busy (which is a GOOD thing!).

Take care, dear friend!

My Blessed Serendipity Life

I'm stuck like glue to YOU! Love you and your delightful blog!

Julie Harward

Well I'm stuck on you...I like your idea of a peaceful time! My word was HAPPY...and I'd be happy if you'd come say hi :D

"Loyal" is awesome. :)

Love the quilt! LOVE the Fiesta Ware! That coffee and toast really looked good.

Maggie is one of the cutest dogs I've seen. Her personality sure comes across.

Have a great day!

I'm thrilled to be stuck with you!

I'm experiencing a bit of bliss this morning. I took the day off. I'm drinking coffee and surfing the web with my pajama pants on with the kitties sleeping near by. So relaxing.

Looks like BLISS TOTALLY! Love that quilt, what's its story? Mags looks just right sitting in all that color, and you like your coffee as mellow as I like mine, I do believe!
PS: Gotta run, my son is working on his new house today and I'm going to help him out! *Ü*

I would never describe spending time with you as stuck! I am glad you are so loyal to all of your readers, because I love visiting you and Maggie at Daisy Cottage. Your lovely yellow(my favorite color) home, music, photographs and priceless advice on decorating keep me coming back for more. The sense of community you've created is unique and a direct reflection on you.
Thanks as always,

That is one of my favorite ever quilts soooooo cute!

You're stuck with me too!!! Thanks for the beautiful post and inspiration, one of these days I'll e-mail you pics (don't have a blog)of all you've inspired in my home.xoxoxoxo

I just love quilts and yours is absolutely gorgeous!! Looks like it might be a log cabin pattern and the colors are soooo yummy! Love your blog...keep it up!!

Such a beautiful website. I am new to Daisy Cottage, I can look through it for hours and still find more things to inspire me. Thanks for all you do for all of us.

Patty O'Malley

Oh, how I would love to be relaxing on a back porch like this right now! Thanks for providing me with a bit of escape each day!

Oh what a sweet post and all of my favorite things too! Such a BEA-U-tiful quilt!

I love your idea of bliss. Sounds fun and relaxing.

Ahhhh I feel the softness of that quilt. No wonder Maggie likes to enjoy it as well.

Diane Price

You're stuck with me too. I've viewed a lot of blogs, but yours in my favorite and the only one I subscribe to. Thanks for making it so fun. I can think of another word to describe you, BLISSFUL!

I love that quilt!! Did someone make it for you or did you buy it? Thanks for sharing!

Brenda Kula

Oh, I love these colors today, Kim! A quilt and coffee and a furry companion with some daisies. Wow! My kind of day!

You make me feel like I am right there with you. I do not know how you do it. I love it and it draws me back to visit so often. I am "CARING". I care so much for my friends and family. I will do anything that I can for them, to make sure they are safe and happy, and of course my cat, Oscar. Have a great day.

"You are stuck with me." So glad we are!!! :-)

Lovely loyal Kim, what could be a happier thought. Thank you for cheering so many of us so much, you have a great gift of imparting happiness.
I love the quilt, I don't suppose you know where I could get a similar one do you? I'm in the U.K. we aren't very good at quilts here and i do so love them.

Lauren LeJeune

Loyalty is a wonderful quality to have. I absolutely LOVE bundling up in a blanket and coffee and going outside on one of those mornings where it's chilly but you know it could get warm any second. Right now, I'd call myself jealous.

sweet cottage dreams

I have Huey Lewis' song in my head that goes "Happy to be stuck with you...." Yup, happy, happy, happy! I'd be more happy to be sittin' on your back porch having coffee with you and Maggie dear.

your forever and HUMBLE friend,

Josephine Tale Pedder

Dear Kim, that is my idea of bliss too. I love the daisies. We recently got married and my daughter Daisy carried Daisies and wore a lovely Daisy hairpiece.
Sadly a few days after the wedding we lost our beloved old dog who died at 16 years. The loss has been crushing. Treasure those sunshine hours with Maggie. xx

Fay Marie Torzsok

Loyal.. You have hit the nail on the head. That's what you are, but also caring, encouraging, colourful, and last but not least....dependable.

Love that quilt! I will be mailing my heart for Jack tomorrow. First time I've made anything like this. Hope he like it.

I just came by to thank you. A year ago I asked you for advice on starting a blog and you were kind enough to respond with an e-mail with tons of ideas. You were also the first to post a comment on my blog. Thank you so much for giving a new blogger encouragement and advice. What a sweetheart you are. Stella

Your Beautiful Hearts For Jack

Thank You Dear Sis!

Thank you Fifi!

  • "It's people like yourself that make everything beautiful and worthwhile." ~ Fifi

Thank You Ida!

  • Kim I just wanted to thank you again for allowing us into your sweet home! I absolutely loved being there and looking around with you. Your hospitality and sweet spirit make the home even more beautiful! Thanks for reminding me that one day I too will have my "dream come true!" ~ Ida - MOPS Member

Thank You Jane!

  • "I just discovered your blog and am blown away with the comfortable, almost nostalgic feel of it...almost like finding a long-lost friend after many years apart...somehow familiar, but all so exciting and new." ~ Jane

Thank You Dena!

  • "Kim, I love your blog. I so appreciate you sharing every day. I miss you when you're gone. Losing my dear sweet baby boy in Iraq has made me treasure life and those so dear to me. Reading your blog is such therapy for me. You have made me treasure the finer things in life that I use to overlook. Birds singing, flowers blooming, my home and all of the treasures within it. I'm not sure that I ever looked at a teacup or saucer and saw such detail and beauty in it." ~ Dena

Thank You Grace!

  • "I would like to let you know what a joy it is to wake up each morning and read your delightful blog. I always feel as if you are speaking directly to me. Since I was diagnosed with an immune disease a year ago I wanted only to read positive and very inspiring blogs and your blog was the first I found. I think maybe the good Lord meant for me to find your blog and since then it has been nothing but smiles all around. I have tried very hard to stay positive about this disease and very up beat. I know that there is no cure and I have accepted this, but reading things with a positive message and filled with so much love helps. This is where you come in and I just wanted to say thank you from the bottom of my heart and to let you know how very much you and Miss Maggie are loved." ~ Grace

Thank You Francesca!

  • "Oh my! I have just stepped into heaven. A nostalgic, magic, getaway place where folk love one another and life is sweet. Kim, you will probably never know just how many hearts you have touched with your site. " ~ Francesca

Thank You Kathy!

  • "I visited my friends with their tasteful beige homes and sometimes questioned if there was anyone else in this world who loved the things I did. Then I found Daisy Cottage and a whole community of other women who shop the side of the road, paint their furniture fun colors, and aren't afraid to fill their homes with touches of whimsy and fun. What a relief! We aren't alone! I'm not alone. Thanks for all your inspiration and for confidently sharing your home and the idea that we can have fun with our decorating. I never get tired of visiting here Kim." ~ Kathy

Thank you Rue!

  • "That hankie is like you and your blog Kim. In the middle of all of the other beautiful hankies, it's the one that stands out and makes you feel at home." ~ Rue

Thank You Jeanette!

  • "Sigh.... between your music, red and yellow mellow feeling and wonderful writing I just feel so calm. What would I do without you in the morning with my cup of coffee." ~ Jeanette

Thank You Lenna!

  • "My eyes have been opened to a world I never knew existed. Such vibrant creativity, such caring community: it literally takes my breath away. After so much loneliness and isolation it is overwhelming to me that such a world even exists. In time I hope to be able to fill my garden of life with lovely, loving friends instead of the weeds of loneliness. Until that time lace tablecloths will come out of storage, music and lovely scents will fill the air of this home. And I shall visit the Daisy Cottage when I feel despair raise its dark, obscuring head, for I know from experience, that it is ever lurking behind that next bout of pain and weakness. Your kind and generous response has strengthened my resolve, you have helped me more than you will ever know, my new-found friend." ~ Lenna

Thank You Rose!

  • "What I love best about Daisy Cottage is Kim. I love the way you appreciate every good thing in life and embrace joy in every moment." ~ Rose

Thank You Lisa!

  • "Here's how I can best describe into words how your blog made me feel. You know when you wake up in the morning and there's an early morning thunderstorm and every room in your house is as dark as night? Then, the rain and thunder stop and the sun comes shining through all the windows and you just know it's going to be a beautiful, sunshine day? Well, that's how finding Dear Daisy Cottage made me feel. From the bottom of my heart, thank you Kim. You blessed my day and may God do the same for you." ~ Lisa B.

Thank you Pamela!

  • "I am so touched by your words and photographs. Whether in happy or sad times, you inspire my heart and soul. We all need each other's light and you offer us that dose of sunshine." ~ Pamela

Thank you Joy!

  • "Your blog has helped me start to see the beauty in life again." ~ Joy

Thank You Anne!

  • "Thank you for your wonderful blog. I have been "lurking" but had to share with you how much you have helped me embrace the fun of decorating. I came to your blog looking for pictures to inspire me as I redecorate my house with cottage style. Today I was so tangled up in doing it "right" that it was really depressing me. I visited your blog again for some fresh ideas and came away realizing that there is no "right." Just me being me and enjoying my home! I am laying here in bed with tears in my eyes - tears of happiness that it is okay to be me and let that shine through in my house and what I wear and what I make with my hands. You are God's gift to me today and I thank Him and you." ~ Anne

Thank You Tracy!

  • "Your words and thoughts of encouragement help me see myself with value. You are a blessing. Thank you." ~ Tracy

Thank you Karen!

  • "Your humble spirit has not changed through your many posts here in Blogland. You have been blessed with a special gift and I am very thankful you share it with us." ~ Karen

Thank You Betty Jo!

  • "You truly inspire me to do whatever I can in my own little nest. I've always been an artistic dreamer, but you've enlarged my dreams with your way of seeing." ~ Betty Jo
