As most of you know, I have a most cherished collection of little fabric hearts that were handmade and given to me by sweet sweet you.
These are but a few of my beloved hearts that I keep with the others in a bowl right beside me in my office. I LOVE them ALL so much - they are lovely tokens of you and they mean the world to me.
Tammy, who lives in California and who is a part of our Dear Daisy Cottage family, emailed me the other day and shared an idea that she had for our friend, Jack.
She suggested that we each make a fabric heart, like the ones that I have been blessed to receive, to give to Jack as an expression of our love and support for him and for our precious Tabatha - who, as you know, was one of us.
I told Tammy that I thought it was a most BEAUTIFUL idea.
What do you think? Would you like to make a heart for Jack?
If you WOULD like to, please email me and I will give you my mailing address for you to send your heart and any note that you would like to include for Jack too. I will take a photo of your fabric heart, credit it to you and share it on my blog. I will then mail your hearts & notes to Jack. If you can, please mail your hearts to me by March 31st.
Thank you Tammy for your most loving idea. (She is already working on hers) Thank you ALL for being there for Jack & Tabatha - whether it is in spirit, in comments, or in the creation of little handmade hearts.... we are all stitched together in this fabric of life. And I am so very thankful.
Love,
Kim
Please Note:
If you do NOT hear back from me, PLEASE email me again. Yahoo is not always dependable and unfortunately there are times that I do miss your emails. If I receive your email, you will definitely hear back from me - otherwise it means that I didn't get it in my In-Box.
I added this button to the top of my blog's right side bar so that you may return to this post at any time.

Wonderful idea! Did Tabatha have a favorite color? Does Jack?
Posted by: Pat | February 07, 2010 at 12:37 PM
I do not sew and I do not drive because of an 18 year old neck injury. It is hard to get out, so I will have to pass. But know that Tabatha and Jack have touched my heart. I will always remember. My heart will have to be one that is not seen but there in spirit.

What a wonderful idea! I'm not a big seamstress but couldn't I just do a shabby /rustic looking one with big stitches on the outside of the pillow? Or would that be tacky? I'm sure Jack will be so delighted and touched!! Thanks Kim and Tammy!

Would love to be able to do something for Jack...the heart idea is PERFECT, as are those sweet strawberries you have in a bowl. Couldn't resist...I had to leave my warm house and find me some so I could munch on them while reading more of your blogs. Of course, the berries we get in Wisconsin in February are not anything close to the sweet, FRESH ones you enjoy in Florida. You lucky girl!!!

Oh how touching! I still have your mailing address and will be mailing you soon! The past 8 months have been ones of loss in our family as well. Losing my uncle to amyloidosis, and six months later (last week) my aunt and finding out at the same time of my aunt's death that a dear cousin has been diagnosed with lung cancer. Quite a shock since she has never even touched a cigarette. I know what loss of a loved one is, but to lose your spouse, your soul mate, is heart wrenching! Count me in!
