I know, I know, it seems that as soon as we clear the Thanksgiving table our thoughts turn to the holidays and our minds race with what all we have to do.
But I want to stop time and enjoy the leftover turkey sandwiches and the pumpkin pie - each and every bite. I want to be a little lazy and simply stay home and be cozy.
The hustle and bustle can wait, right? Even if only for a few days?
And as I make my To Do list, I will do my very best to remember THE most important thing ...
And I hope that YOU do too.
Love,
Kim
what a wonderful idea Kim! my husband sadly had to work today so I with you .. enjoying leftovers and not wondering about the cold blustery world outside this little farmhouse... Sarahlynn

Dear Kim,
I am doing the same thing today. Staying inside and doing whatever. Top of list - finishing a good book.
I tried your Sweet Potato Casserole this year and it was great. Very different from mine but very good. Everyone liked it. Thanks for sharing it.
Hugs,
Connie

That's EXACTLY what I'm doing today....too busy and too tired to think about doing much else. I'm even still in my pajamas, even though I've showered and all, I just wanted to stay cozy and comfy!

PS: Your sandwich looks YUMMY! *Ü*

Hi Kim
That's what I am doing today, savoring the moment with litte Spencer and the rest of the family. A quiet day eating leftover turkey and 4 kinds of pie! It's raining out ... a perfect day to stay inside.

I'm with you! I am taking it easy and loving it. Enjoy your day...and the weekend.

I'm with you, Kim~ it's cold & rainy out today, so we're snuggling in with movies instead of malls.
Posted by: meg | November 27, 2009 at 12:50 PM
Kim, I'm trying to keep things easy this year--we'll see how that works out, lol..
I also made your sweet potato casserole, and even had some for breakfast this morning (everyone else had pancakes--I figure I got a vegetable in, for breakfast no less, lol, so I'm "ahead" for the day).
Just what I looove in a sp casserole recipe--lots of crunchy nutty sweet topping! Yum! (yes, I doubled it, lol).
Happy Thanksgiving (belatedly)!

Kim, I'm with you....just relaxing and savoring the moments and right now I have just heated up leftovers. I am alone, so while I eat I will reflect on the time spent with those who gathered around my table yesterday.

PS Your s. potato casserole was a hit here!

Your recipe yesterday sounded yummy! Like all of your recipes, I have tried almost all that you have offered and loved the results! I will have to save it for next year, because our Thanksgiving was in October. The sky here is blue and it is very sunny, I went for a walk/jog this morning and am painting and cleaning today. Thanks for the LoVe and I am sending it back to you, hugs, Cindy S.

Hi Kim,
I also totally agree with you - although I did type up a draft of our annual Christmas Newsletter this morning. Every year I type up the draft and pass it over to my hubby who embellishes it and insert the photos. I've decided NOT to start the Christmas cookie baking this weekend. I will wait until next week. We had such a nice Thanksgiving this year. I had frozen a ham loaf and decided that would make a delicious meal for us. So the dinner was excellent but very easy to do this year. I did whip up a pumpkin pie but that's easy too. The day was stress free and very relaxing. It's overcast, gray, windy and 48 degrees here in PA. It's more wintery than autumny. Have a nice weekend!

Hi, Kim - It's still morning here on my side of the country and I'm still in my jammies! Taking it easy this morning and savoring the joys of family here yesterday. Some will return tonight to share leftovers and more time together. You are SO right - we need to savor the moment and not rush on to the next things. They will get done - they always do. But for now I'm enjoying the holiday weekend and a chance to settle back with my puppy and my book and rest a bit. I leave my Thanksgiving decor in place through the weekend and then early next week it will come down to be replaced with Christmas pretties. No need to rush the moment!

It sounds wonderful. I have to go back to work Monday, so I am busy decorating. I want to get it done, and then I'll be able to savor.
And, now that you mentioned it, a turkey sandwich sounds delicious. As you can see, I'm taking a well-deserved break.

I so agree! I am cutting back on doing so much this year. I want to enjoy the company of my kids and their kids! Why would we need a hundred different sweets to eat? I want a hundred hugs and kisses!

Kim;
Sounds like a good Idea. I ran a few errands for me and the Puppy, and have enjoyed some Hot Tea, and Chocolate Cake…and more Hot Tea…
Got any ideas about Christmas lights…?…

Thanks for the beautiful reminder, Kim. There's such a maddening rush that I think people forget to just stop and enjoy the moment. Hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving.

Hi Kim,
Oh my goodness - you are so "right on". The day after Thanksgiving is a wonderful day for reflecting on our blessings and enjoying the day by relaxing at home. I enjoyed tea and gingerbread in my garden with Friends. Later, Bentley and I looked for "inspiration" to paint.
Thank you for reminding us to enjoy the day.
Bentley sends Maggie a big kiss.
Blessings,
Erin

yes, it's perfect! That's what I plan to do, today, and tonight too. It's always great to take some time to treat yourself before the rush happens. Happy Thanksgiving, sweet Kim! xo Lidy

I have enjoyed today. I am satisfied to enjoy a day of not cooking while having yesterdays Th'g all over again. I do look forward to the many happy days ahead. One thing I look forward to is seeing Christmas at Daisy Cottage.

That's exactly what I plan to do tomorrow!! I had to be at the barn today but tomorrow I'm staying inside, maybe watch a movie and just chill before the craziness of Christmas starts!

Morning Kim,
I am absolutely with you. Without the savoring it becomes nothing short of a chore. I'm going to savor every tidbit :)

I'm with you Kim! I'm really enjoying being cozy in my house and enjoying the last of the leftovers. I'm almost done with my Christmas shopping (found some fabulous sales online and they'll be delivered to my door...who needs Black Friday???). The decoration boxes are sitting in my bedroom ready to be unpacked but I play on the net instead ;)

Good morning Kim :)
That's exactly what I did all week at my mom's house... savor the moments. Now that we're back it's time to put everything in it's place for Christmas, but this year I'll be doing it with a bigger smile, because we've been so blessed.
Love you sweet friend and missed you while I was gone :)

Dearest Kim,
Thanks so much for your hello and concern. I am fine. My dear husband has had a difficult last five months with much of it in the hospital.
He is a little improved now but requires lots of assistance and my blog has temporarily gone lower on my list of priorities. I hope to get it rolling again before too long. There are lots of lovely things going on around me that I look forward to sharing again. Your posts, so dependable and so fun, are greatly appreciated. Thanks again!
Warmly, Marcy (hello sunshine)
