I thought I'd share these DELICIOUS chocolate chip cookies with you that my friend Chrissy made.
See Chrissy - I CAN share!
;-)
And I also wanted to share this ...
Yes, our dining room chandy has gone green! One recent Saturday I sent my hubby to Lowe's for a few things that we were needing around the house and I asked him to pick out a can of green spray paint for the chandelier. He called me from the store and said there were several greens and was afraid to pick one himself - thinking that he'd pick the wrong one or something. Poor man. I told him that any green he would pick would be fine.
He picked a John Deere tractor green...
He is SO proud because the chandy DOES look great!!
Now I don't know how he feels about the little yellow birdies that have landed on it because he hasn't noticed them yet. (Shhh... they've been perched there for about a week)
But I don't think it will surprise him... after all, he is married to me and lives in Daisy Cottage.
:-)
Happy weekend everyone! I love you much and here's to our sharing more days TOGETHER - from my home to YOURS.
Kim,
Glad you are back. A week without you feels like forever!
Jaybird is a lucky girl...enjoy Jaybird.
I think "Hubby" did great with his color choice! And the yellow birdies are spectacular!!
Thanks for another great day!

Congratulations to Jaybird. You must be so delighted.
Kim, Your husband picked a fabulous color and I love the yellow birds you added. If your DH is anything like my DH he did notice the birds but you will never know unless you ask.
Your first picture is wonderfully creative. You are really good with a camera.
Now I must go make some CC cookies. Thanks for the inspiration Chrissy.

In your photo your house has an upstairs, but you never show the stairs. I live in a craftsmans bungalow in TN, my staircase is through a French-style door. what about yours?

I hope we can all get the chance to see it in a full shot of the dining room, yes?
Oh, yes, oh, yes???
These touches of green i.e. the new antique chest of drawers, the lamp with its green base, the other lamp with the green shade...It is all so fresh.
You are just the cream of the crop, Dear Daisy Cottage! I applaude you as always.

Congrats to Jaybird, you are one lucky bird to have Daisy Cottage goodies winging their way to your nest! I LOVE your chandy, and am not surprised that your man has not noticed the new little details. My sweet hubby is so unobservant sometimes, too, it truly amazes me! Love your chandy, though and love you so much! Hugs, Cindy S.

Oh no!!!!!!!!!!!! I mean, I do love the green and it looks perfecto in your room, but isn't that where the aqua blue one was??
I loved that color everso..have looked and looked for it, to no avail....
Sure hope you keep something aqua somewhere!!!!

Hi.very very pretty!!!!

Good Morning Lovelies!!
Posey, yes we take the chandys down, hang them from a hook on a tree out back and spray them outside. I HAVE shown our stairwell before! ;-) It is located in the little center hall - was green with lots of mirrors BUT it is now blue.. photos to come.
And no worries Janey! The aqua chandy was never hung.. it was just hanging out on the dining room buffet. It is in my daughter's room now. ;-) I still have my little aqua table and a few empty frames painted in that wonderful color! You should be able to find it at Home Depot! Wonder if I could mail you a can?????
xo,
Me

John Deere Green!!!! OMG, soooo funny! What a manly thought that was! Since it is hunting season here in the Northwest, I am sure Artie would have picked Hunter Green! It looks fabulous!!! Could take up to a year for the birds to be noticed by the hubbers - that's how long it was for Artie to pick up on something!
Posted by: [email protected] | September 27, 2009 at 11:53 AM
Hi Kim
The green chandelier with the little birds that added that special touch of yours. Very creative, I don't think a lot of us would think of that. Congratulations! Jaybird.

Husbands are a hoot! Love the chandelier. I play the same game with my husband, he never notices anything! I have always said I could add a new wing to this house and he wouldn't notice for 6 months, if ever!! It is a joke around here, he is so funny! You just gotta love 'em.
Posted by: Mary Ann | September 27, 2009 at 02:44 PM
Kim, the chandy looks great! And of course he would pick John Deere tractor green. It really does fit right in with Daisy Cottage. xoxo

Kim,
I love the yellow birds on the chandelier oh so much... I would love to do something similiar on one of my chandeliers.... how did you attach the birds? hot glue maybe? it looks as if there is some sort of wire but hard to tell and I cant imagine wire would actually keep them stationary... Thanks for the idea and as always you and your home fill me with warm fuzzies and loads of inspiration.. keep it coming!

The chandelier is fabulous. Your little birdies are like the frosting on the cake.
Posted by: Mom Wald's Place | September 28, 2009 at 03:28 AM
More beautiful photos of your house as usual. I don't know how you do it - mixing all those colours and getting such a harmonising result. I would never have thought green for a chandy (everyone's doing black or white)but it works so well, especially with the little birdies. And who wants to be like everyone else.
I'm celebrating my blog anniversay with a giveaway too. Pop on over if you're interested.

I love how brave you are with color! I'm becoming more brave myself. The only thing that really ever stopped me was how different this style is from what's "in style" at any given moment. I've decided not to care any more and go for what I really like! Great post, great green, perfect birds.
