Let's visit my wonderful friend, Cindy! She lives only a few blocks away and she is expecting us. Not only is Cindy a loving mother, grandmother, and sister, she is also a loving friend too. She is a department manager in a local home improvement store and has managed and merchandised antique shops in the past. Cindy loves to go thrifting with her daughter and her friends to find the perfect piece for her home also known as Happinest...
Isn't her outdoor shed adorable?
And her front porch is always open to neighbors and friends ...
Cindy works so hard at her job and her home is truly her haven - a place for her to nest and nurture her family and friends. I always feel welcome here and I know that you will too. So let's go inside, shall we?
This is her lady's office ... (my favorite room in Cindy's home!)
Please ignore my purse that you see on the floor near the front door - oops! ;-)
It's really pretty, isn't it? Cindy did a great job creating this space.
My sis made the slipcover for Cindy - wasn't that nice of me to share her? ;-)
Next, we'll step into the living room and dining room ...
Sweet little collections ...
The hallway ...
The cozy kitchen ...
The sunny laundry porch ...
The pretty bathroom ...
The guest bedroom - I love this room too!
And the master bedroom ...
So cute - the chair in the photo below first belonged to me (which I found at Vintage) then it belonged to my sister Jill, then it went to our friend Lisa - whose home we will be touring NEXT - and now it is home with our Cindy! We have so much fun trading and finding treasures for each other!
Cindy's handsome Daddy ...
Thank you SO much Cindy for opening up your home to all of us! I know how special Happinest is to you and I am so happy that she is yours.
And thank YOU for coming with me to Cindy's house! She is so happy to have you visit! She knows how great you all are!
I hope you enjoyed your stay!
Next stop - Lisa's house!! ;-)
Love,
Kim

A sweet friend referred me to your blog. I'm now an official fan :) I was looking at one house tour when another one (Cindy's) was posted. I am still visually disecting each photo. Your tours are like a comfy magazine TIMES TEN! You give the interior decorator in all of us just what we want...pictures, pictures and more pictures! Who needs a magazine subscription when we have your blog! I need to get back to my disecting...and then I've got to check out your archives AND links....Whew! I'm gonna be a busy gal! <3 Thanks!!

* Your Cindy has, without a doubt, the most warm, welcoming, inviting, charming, comfy, creative, TRULY PERSONALIZED & FULL OF LOVE, HOPE & JOY home I've seen in a long, long time... And her love of home and family is evident everywhere, without being "mushy"!!!
THANK YOU for a MOST ENJOYABLE peek into her FANTABULOUS HOME!!!
Warmly,

Good Morning! First, I have to tell you that your photography is so superb when you do these shoots for us. You really capture the feel of each room. :) And . . . .I LOVE Cindy's home. It seems so warm and cozy and she has a few pieces that I would die for!!! :) Is that a crate she's using in the kitchen with the bowls? Love how it's so simple but charming. It's put together so well but not in a matchy designer way but like she's loved everything for years. Just like your home. Can I have the chair next? :) You have a very talented group of friends ~ thanks for sharing!

love it! the house is down here in florida and like your house doesn't look like the typical florida home! so many of the homes down here have the condo look. all of the homes that you show and especially your's have the special inviting look that makes you feel like home even if you are miles away. thanks for sharing so much with us!
Posted by: rose | September 01, 2009 at 09:30 AM
I can't even begin to mention everything that I saw that I like! But....when can I move in? Her house is simply lovely. I am always trying to figure out how to display things and have them look so neat and orderly. I have 3 really worn out quilts that I have been trying to decide what to do with and now I think I will fold them and stack them! That's only one great idea I can use! Thank you! Wish I was close enough to hug all the wonderful ladies that are showing their homes to us! HUGS to YOU and ALL of them!

"Happinest" I love that! Cindy has such a pretty home. It feels so warm and welcoming even in photographs! So in real life it really must be cozy and inviting!!
I love the colors she used throughout her home and it was sooo nice to see a small bathroom that looked stylish and pretty! I couldn't get a double sink in any of my bathrooms unless I got rid of a tub or shower!
Thanks for tours! I'm really enjoying them! Your photography is fabulous!

Kim, That was one of my favorite house tours. Cindy's home is full of comfort, and things that delight the eye. I especially loved the calm yet happy colors the house is decorated with, and then you go out what I am guessing is the back door and bam...bright, happy in your face colors...I just love it! Pat on the back to you for taking such wonderful pictures.

Cindy your home is lovely. Thank you for the tour! The office walls proves that brown can be very warm. What a glorious feast for the eyes. I love the simple dressed up look. For instance that little stool with the lacy doily on it.
I love the master. The bed looks so pretty with the window treatment behind it.
The picnic basket stack is so cleaver and effective.
Love the old photos and toys scattered about.
I could write a book but you get the idea. I love your home!

The office drapes and bathroom shower curtain are divine as well as your lovely china. I haven't seen an ALL laundry pail for many years. If I had to pick a favorite room, possibly the office but every room is decorated with welcoming warmth and lots of love.

I already left a comment on Cindy's beautiful home but I need to know . . . how do all you ladies hide your tv's? I wish I had a seperate room for the television but I don't and it's in the living room right when you walk in the front door. I do have an armoire but maybe you all have a different idea? Kim, is yours in the granny room?
Posted by: Sarah | September 02, 2009 at 08:55 AM
You have the loveliest comments -- because you have the 'eye' and the 'skill' to be a professional photographer. I've noticed that your photo's play up the best everywhere you go. You are the best advertising (for a business) they have. . . you should consider. . . I loved the tour, thank you so much and thank Cindy for sharing too. Blessings, Janet

Cindy's home is beautiful! I think my favorite is the lady's office, but gee, it's really hard to pick a favorite. You did such a nice job photographing it, too. That is so nice of Cindy to open her home for us. Thanks to both of you.

I could have the wooden swans everywhere as they are one of the reasons I moved by the lake here.
The swan in the study was found in an antique shop in Ohio
The swan in the dining room is handcarved driftwood and I bought it at the big Antique Extravaganza in Mt Dora
The swan in the guest room is from Home Goods. They had many different ones when I was there last week.Really had to pry myself away from that section.
Thanks for visiting!
