My family thinks that I've lost my mind.
All I want to do is play with my dollhouse.
I am having too much fun playing with it every day.
But, wait - I don't think there is such a thing as having "too much fun."
Is there??
I've been painting the walls, distressing the furniture, cutting up fabric for pillows and sheets, and having a ball collecting little itty bitty teeny tiny treasures for the house.
You "get it", right?
And speaking of fun - please come back tomorrow for a very special giveaway!
In the meantime, I guess I should get something done... but, hey, at least my desk is clean!
;-)
Kim
I love it! It's so fun when something just captures our imaginations, and we can run with it. That little coffee mug is great! Hope you have a good week.

Lord help us if the world is full of "sane" people! I have a Victorian dollhouse I got in North Carolina just waiting for a little insanity. And my granddaughter is not being terribly patient about it. Yours is delish-adorable! OX Suzen

I adore your dollhouse, Kim, and completely understand your wanting to spruce it up all the time! I have one that my sister was going to throw away! You have inspired me to "get going" with it and have some fun, too.

The doll house is as sweet as can be. A few years ago I pulled the dollhouse my father made me out of storage. It was pink and white, four rooms, one on top of the other with a pitched attic room at the top. It is on wheels. The white was dirty the pink faded. I re-painted it for my little girl, LibbyLu, and purchased new furniture. When you first shared about your dollhouse, I was inspired to decorate mine/LibbyLu's for decoration - maybe in my bedroom. She had moved on from this kind of play at least two years ago. Well, as it turns out, she may have moved on, but she is not ready to surrender. I will be patient. My heart swells that she still loves it. ~Kelly

How adorable is that, can I come over and play too. I love doll houses and I remember buying one for one of my daughters and she did not want to have anything to do with it. It was a beautiful old colonial home with white posts. Hmmm wonder what happened to it. I love your header on your blog.

Wonderful dollhouse! I bought one for my kids and I think I like it more than they do! Have fun! Sincerely, Ann

I've decided I'm going to live vicariously through you and your dollhouse! Maybe someday I'll have one, but until then, I greatly enjoy seeing yours.

It's a miniature Daisy cottage, right down to the mug on the desk! I think we are all just little girls at heart and little girls love dollhouses! I'm glad you're having fun with it.

I certainly do get it! And can see how addictive a doll house could be. Your little home is as pretty as your own home.

Oh yes, I get it! I've always wanted a doll house, and would have one today if there was a place in this tiny house to put one! When I was a very little girl, my aunt (who is only 7 years older than me) and I had a feud over a dolls house. She said it was hers, I said it was mine, and to this day - probably 50 years later, I still don't know who it really belonged to. Thankfully, my aunt and I outgrew our feud, and are quite close now, and our favorite topics of conversation? Decorating and gardening. Nothing much changes, really, does it?

I GET IT!! That is just truly too adorable, and must be sooo much fun! Enjoy it hun. A woman should always have a little girl still tucked away inside!

You're really inspiring me, Miss Kim. I think I need a beach cottage dollhouse. My husband's got great carpentry skills, but I doubt if he'd have the patience to build me one. Something else to add to my "keep an eye out for" list.
Pleasant day :-)

Oh my...love that daisy coffee cup!! Your dollhouse is adorable and reflects your sweet personality.
I use several miniature sites, The Dollhouse Emporium (UK), DeJoux/Dollhouse Heaven, Earth and Tree, Dollhouse Collectables, Dollhouse Junction, and so many more.
I'm not as creative or handy as you (can barely sew) but I find the best products. Most mini sites have "clearance, bargains galore" and items reduced 50% and more.
We can never have too much fun playing with our dollhouses. I'm so awed by the teeniest little treasures to be found.
Have a great day! Carole

Kim, you can't be serious? Your family must know you better than that. A doll house to make beautiful is as right as rain for you. Your loved ones just love to tease you cause they can. I predict your hubby will want to play to and will be making baseboard or something soon.
Thanks for sharing your progress with us. Some lucky dolls will love living in there.
My favorite is the blue rug on the daisy carpet but is is all so cute!!

Your hubby should be glad you are done with the big cottage (perhaps just a little anyway) and now moving to the little cottage, though at the price of doll house stuff perhaps not, haha.
Thanks! so cute!

You have inspired all of your friends of Daisy Cottage to give in to that "little girl" that never grows up or fades with time. Somehow I think that men are "forgiven" for giving into that "little boy" but somehow us women neglect and suppress that urge. We are nurturers, care givers, mothers, wives, and we rarely ever do something for ourself. When we do, we feel guilty. But this is just the kind of thing that we need: to be told that its OK, and that to truly live, is to be young at heart (in more grown-up ways). I am so excited about everything that you have done on your dollhouse and can't wait to give into that little girl urge of mine...and display and make and create in dollhouses of my own!
I just found a dollhouse in the trash and I am so excited about playing in it! I have three little boys and have longed for a little girl, which will happen someday. But with my new-found inspiration from Kim at Daisy Cottage, I don't need to wait on all of the "little girl" things that my heart is bursting for! xo!

Your miniature decor is nearly as delightful as our regular decor, Kim! Nope, no such thing as too much fun. I like to "party like a 10-year-old", happy, free, unfettered, no alcohol required. (Why do some people need alcohol to have fun? I think kids have way more fun! I know I have way more fun that folks who drink.) The desk is just precious, with the colorful books scattered about and your tiny mug. Love it all!

Oh my I adore your dollhouse! Can I come live in it? If you hadn't said it was a dollhouse and dollhouse furn I wouldn't have known the difference between your real furniture and the miniature stuff!

Kim
I also have a yellow dollhouse that my hubby surprised me with at Christmas, l982. I put the shingles on and the clapboards on and Hubby wired it. I have lots of lovely furniture packed up in the house. Now, you have given me the incentive to install the windows and doors and wallpaper and carpet. Somewhere I lost interest in in and now I must complete it. Won't you have fun with yours at Christmas?
You have always been an inspiration to me, even back when you advised me about painting my fireplace white. Have never regretted it for a minute.
Still a faithful reader of your wonderful blog and look forward to reading more of your articles in Romantic Country.

O.M.G. What fun, fun, fun! Brings back memories for me. Some of the most fun I ever had, period, was playing with my dollhouse. I even "built" another to play with outside. Just sticks, leaves, etc., but I made it a home. Of course, nothing like the beautiful green cabinet in your lovely home, but oh, so much fun!
Thanks so much for sharing!

Kim,
Madigan and I love your doll houses. Awhile back you posted some pictures and I wrote to the store inquiring about their pink dollhouse in one of the photos...no one ever wrote back....I knew Maddie would love it. Another time.
When I clicked on your site, she (Madigan) is setting next to me eating....she yells "MOMMY ARE WE GOING THERE?" She was pointing to your beautiful yellow cottage....great taste my 3 yr old has huh!!
Hugs to you,
Valerie oh yes and Madigan too

I get it. I made 2 different dollhouses for one of my daughters and I thought it was so much fun. It's like you kind of start thinking very very small. The trouble is now you have to keep TWO houses clean.

I'm lovin' your little house! Love the coffee mug! I've got a mini mug with my name. I think I'll have to find one for my doll Meg. I've got my little house moved into the new house now-- can't wait to move my mini's back in! You've inspired me!

I do understand! Having my own dollhouse has always been on my list. This fall as I open (finally renovate) a little cottage of my own on our property, to be used has a studio, I hope to have space for the dollhouse of my dreams!
Yours is so sweetly decorated, just like Daisy Cottage is. I've really been enjoying seeing it's progress. It just oozes cuteness!
have fun!

Hey Kim
I live with my husband, two sons, two male cats and I am guessing a male fish. Less than a year ago I lost two male dogs and last August, I finally added a girl to our family and got a female chocolate lab! Need I say more. I love bows, makeup, cute clothes and other girly things and I even have a doll house at my grandmothers house. I should bring it home with me sometime so me and my dog, Candy, can do girly things! Have a great day!
