It was SO HOT when we were in Savannah.
But that was okay because Savannah is a hot place to be - meaning all things cool, hip, happening, wonderful, beautiful, artful, historical, and so so inspiring.
Here are just a few of the many hot colors and things that caught my eye AND my taste buds during my special birthday visit! ;-)
See that little red birdie cookie up there?
That one was mine. ;-)
And YES, I thrifted!! This $30 green chair almost came home with me but I let it go and I'm so glad that I did because a college student came in right after me and bought it immediately for his apartment. He was thrilled with his find - said he had been looking and looking for the perfect old chair and his excitement over his new treasure made my day ...
And along with the hot colors, grace and beauty that Savannah has to offer, it is a most ROMANTIC city too.
There are SO many places to wine and dine in Savannah but we like to think of this one as "our" place ...
My birthday in Savannah was a dream. Thank you Kevin for everything. And thank YOU for sharing in this adventure with me here and here and here and here. I promise that we will travel to Savannah again. Where will we go and what will we do? Well we will find out - together.
And although I had to say goodbye to Savannah and all of its' charm, I still tap my ruby red slippers and know with all of my heart,
THERE IS NO PLACE LIKE HOME.
I hope you have a wonderful and SAFE 4th of July!
Happy Birthday America! We love you!
Love,
Kim
Sigh...I love Savannah! I so want a weekend there, but may wait until it's a bit cooler! :)
Love all the pictures - that red bird cookie might be the cutest cookie I've ever seen!! Glad you had a great birthday!!
Love,
Susan

Kim, that last photo, the one of your house, is simply enchanting. The white picket fence, the colors, a little girl's dream. And the colors of Savannah were eye candy as well. Have a wonderful 4th of July, blogging friend!

It is STILL HOT in Savannah. And so....I am headed to Florida for vacation. ( Don't laugh...I know it's hot there too).Your pictures were great! I enjoyed them so much. The pictures inspire me to stop, look around, and appreciate the beauty all around me. Sometimes, even in this beautiful city, life is a little crazy and I forget to look. Thanks for reminding me.

My trip will have to wait until the fall. I cannot tolerate the GA summer heat. My parents were both from GA, couple hours from Savannah. So lovely, but there is definitely no place like home!! ♥

Love the shot of YOUR table at the restaurant, and the story of the green chair! I love when things work out like that!
Happy 4th to you and your family!

I would love to go to Savannah, but not in June. We went to New Orleans one year in June and Holy Moly it was hot! I have never experienced heat like that in my life. We were down south to go visit our son and see him graduate from Officer's Candidate School in Pennsacola, so we didn't have a choice of when we went. We want to go back when it's cooler so we can enjoy the sites. If we go back, we'll hop on over to Savannah and look for Paula!

I was in Savannah in early spring last year, and it was so beautiful (and not so hot). Thanks for sharing these great photos!
Happy 4th!

Looks like you had the best birthday! Your house is sooo darn cute. Who wouldnt wanna go home to that. I love that yellow.

Kim, wasn't the Olde Pink House wonderful??
The she-crab soup is the best I've ever had!
Of course, living in middle Tennessee, we
don't get much FRESH seafood here.
Where were the brightly colored shops and
the COOKIES bakery? Was that on Tybee?
I've missed those places and would like to
visit them the next time we go to Savannah.
So glad you had such a special birthday!

Where do you like to thrift in Savannah? We stop over each time we travel from Florida to North Carolina but haven't done much exploring! I'd appreciated your suggestions.
