Let Your Home Be Your Heart

  • What I hope for my readers and for all keepers of the nest, is that they embrace their homes with their heart and all of the passion that it holds. I want them to know that they can decorate on a limited budget by seeing things in new ways; by rescuing the broken and transforming the ugly. I hope that they flaunt their favorite color and decorate their life with it. I hope that their homes feel like one giant hug that welcomes them each and every time they walk through their front door. More than anything I want everyone to have their own home-sweet-home dream come true! xo, Kim

Where in the world do you find those darling chairs? I've never seen anything like them. Maybe I just don't know where to look.

Precious, Kim! OH, how darling! Can't wait to see Daisy Cottage in mini version!

Sheila :-)

I'm Julia @

I like the pink print one :-)

Kim, I was treasure hunting this afternoon & every so often I'd spy some happy thing that immediately reminded me of Daisy Cottage. I told my shopping friend "I bet she's rearranging, photographing pretty things to share, & loving on that sweet home right this instant."

Wishing you wonderful weekend.

too cute!

Aimee Boschet

Those are the sweetest things ever! My Daughter would love them...

I just recently started my Blog. Stop by for a visit if you get a chance!

Take care,

Adorable! I've always wanted to make tiny upholstered doll furniture...I have patterns from years ago and never have gotten around to it.

Alison Gibbs

What cute little chairs.

OH MY! Those are the sweetest little things. I always dreamed of having a doll house, maybe one of these days...

Oh my! You have little chairs to match your little cottage! How precious!
I'm making things for my dollhouse and these are perfect! Thanks so much for sharing them!
I would LOVE to see DearDaisyCottage in miniature!!

Oh my! These are so perfectly Daisy Cottage! Sweet, little, bright chairs, how adorable:>)

So very adorable!

Did you make the dollhouse? I've been looking for one and/or wanting to make one albeit if I don't find one. Where did you get the pattern? Hi to Sis. . .Lovies, Blessings, Jan

Penny @ Lavender Hill Studio & The Comforts of Home

Those are adorable! Did you find them like that or did you recover them in Daisy Cottage colors? So cute!

are these more of sweet sister talents? Thanks for sharing her home.. I loved it! In her house - her and I had 2 things alike! I was like -can I be your sister too?

A dollhouse???? I didn't know you have a dollhouse! I have one put away (was my daughter's but she never liked it that much). PLEASE don't motivate me to pull itout and start (yet another) project. But those chairs are SO CUTE!!!

Nicole M.

Love the chairs! I've always been drawn to tiny things. I used to have a dollhouse, but it never got past the packaging. I sometimes regret not ever building it.

Ahh, those are so cute!
Would you be so sweet, when you get a chance, to give your opinion on my latest post about my eating area? I value your opinion so much. Thank you, Hugs, ~CINDY S~

May I sit in the one with the lovely fringe? I'm thinking that has to be the best seat in the house!

Karen B

Hi sweet Kim :)

I would love to sit in that itty bitty one with the stripes and flowers. Can you save that seat for me? I might have to shrink a little more to fit though ;)

Have a wonderful weekend!

love you,

Bobbie Lynn

Very sweet chairs. I just saw your posting on your sister house and wow! what a wonderful home. The both of you are blessed to have each other and that you leave so near to one other. Thanks for sharing her with us. Have a wonderful weekend.

What sweet little chairs! I would like to see the dollhouse!

Love your little chairs. I have dolls that I have which would look cute sitting in those cute chairs.

These remind me of my grandma's pin cushion. I think I'll make a blog of it. Thanks for the idea. Give Maggie a smooch.

How cute! I've thought about buying one of those dollhouse kits at Hobby Lobby, but don't really know where I'd put it. Is that what you have, a boxed dollhouse kit? It would be so much fun to build and decorate.

KIM...oh my goodness girl I've been looking for little chairs like that forever. Where oh where have you gotten them from?

Your itty bitty chairs and your comment about sitting in them reminded me of a TV program I watched as a child. It was called The Friendly Giant ~ the opening scene was of a living room area filled with tiny chairs for the viewers to sit in while visiting the giant. Hard to explain but a wonderful memory!
Thanks for the reminder!

Your chairs are SO sweet!

I spent a good part of my morning looking at your blog. You inspired me turn one of my curtains upside down and now I love them! Thank you!

Those are just too cute!
Did someone hand make them? Maybe Jill? :)

Patti Autullo

I put together a doll house years ago and then had it electrified. My granddaughter loves it and she loves playing with the little chairs and furniture and accessories. They are so fun to play with and decorate!

Those are simply the prettiest little chairs I've ever seen. We could all have a wonderful little visit with these for seating, couldn't we?

Adorable!! cutest little chairs. YOU have a dollhouse too. Will it be a replica of Daisy Cottage, any particular style, era?

I've had my (new) dollhouse since last Oct and for the past few months I'm painting, shingling, and ordering oodles of stuff. Had most of my furniture stored for 13 yrs and its still appropriate for the 1940-50's period I'm going for. I go nuts over the sweet mini treasures I find. An expensive hobby for sure :)

I'll bring the tea!!!

Those chairs are adorable! I can't wait to see what you do with them-- I'm sure it will be absolutely charming, just like your real house! I have a dollhouse too- but it's packed up for my move. You can see it on my blog though. Have fun-- wish I could come over for tea and sit in one of those cozy little chairs!

karla nathan

Those bring back some memories, my mom used to make little chairs for my dolls. I'd forgotton all about them! I need to make some for my grand baby.

Debbie Vierkant

They are just precious!!!!

Debra Cripps

Hi Kim

I have a dollhouse too and I know everyone would love to see yours!

Oh those are too cute! I love the red checked one best, I think I need that one in a big girl size! :)

sara's art house

Your house is adorable. I lOVE it!!!!

I also love your playlist. Usually I hate when people add music to their blog, but your choices are so relaxing and beautiful.

Fay Marie

Hi Kim,

What precious little chairs. I collect teddybears and it would be perfect to seat one of them in a pretty little chair like that. Where can I find them?

Fay Marie

How cute, the chairs are! I have been talking to hubby about getting a dollhouse, it would be cheaper (maybe a little) than redecorating my house!

I just love miniature stuff, and those are so cute. And they match you house so good!

Dreams and Decor

These are sooooo darling! Even if they never find their way into a dollhouse! Patti

So cute!

These are sooooooo cute! We all need a project (or two, or three, or four) waiting in the wings. I love the fabrics.

When my daughter was working on a Bachelor's degree in Interior Desigh, I found the most interesting "chairs" that were Christmas ornaments.

If I remember (for it has now been over ten years), they were pewter. The design was so intricate that you knew a very tiny person... perhaps a fairy?... would be happy to use them as part of their furnishings.

I purchased one of each kind, even though I normally only gave her one new ornament each year. They are still precious to her.

I'm afraid her daughters would "borrow" such beautiful chairs as yours to use with dolls.

These chairs are adorable! I love them!

Oh my I just stolled though you doll house. What a wonderful tour. Love those cute chairs. Never have seen any like them. isn't it just so fun "playing in the doll house:? I do mine once in a while too. But you need to hide that cute little teapot or I may try to get it for mine. ( I colect teapots and have over 100 now. Thankls for the tour.

  • "I just discovered your blog and am blown away with the comfortable, almost nostalgic feel of it...almost like finding a long-lost friend after many years apart...somehow familiar, but all so exciting and new." ~ Jane

Thank You Dena!

  • "Kim, I love your blog. I so appreciate you sharing every day. I miss you when you're gone. Losing my dear sweet baby boy in Iraq has made me treasure life and those so dear to me. Reading your blog is such therapy for me. You have made me treasure the finer things in life that I use to overlook. Birds singing, flowers blooming, my home and all of the treasures within it. I'm not sure that I ever looked at a teacup or saucer and saw such detail and beauty in it." ~ Dena

Thank You Grace!

  • "I would like to let you know what a joy it is to wake up each morning and read your delightful blog. I always feel as if you are speaking directly to me. Since I was diagnosed with an immune disease a year ago I wanted only to read positive and very inspiring blogs and your blog was the first I found. I think maybe the good Lord meant for me to find your blog and since then it has been nothing but smiles all around. I have tried very hard to stay positive about this disease and very up beat. I know that there is no cure and I have accepted this, but reading things with a positive message and filled with so much love helps. This is where you come in and I just wanted to say thank you from the bottom of my heart and to let you know how very much you and Miss Maggie are loved." ~ Grace

Thank You Francesca!

  • "Oh my! I have just stepped into heaven. A nostalgic, magic, getaway place where folk love one another and life is sweet. Kim, you will probably never know just how many hearts you have touched with your site. " ~ Francesca

Thank You Kathy!

  • "I visited my friends with their tasteful beige homes and sometimes questioned if there was anyone else in this world who loved the things I did. Then I found Daisy Cottage and a whole community of other women who shop the side of the road, paint their furniture fun colors, and aren't afraid to fill their homes with touches of whimsy and fun. What a relief! We aren't alone! I'm not alone. Thanks for all your inspiration and for confidently sharing your home and the idea that we can have fun with our decorating. I never get tired of visiting here Kim." ~ Kathy

Thank you Rue!

  • "That hankie is like you and your blog Kim. In the middle of all of the other beautiful hankies, it's the one that stands out and makes you feel at home." ~ Rue

Thank You Jeanette!

  • "Sigh.... between your music, red and yellow mellow feeling and wonderful writing I just feel so calm. What would I do without you in the morning with my cup of coffee." ~ Jeanette

Thank You Lenna!

  • "My eyes have been opened to a world I never knew existed. Such vibrant creativity, such caring community: it literally takes my breath away. After so much loneliness and isolation it is overwhelming to me that such a world even exists. In time I hope to be able to fill my garden of life with lovely, loving friends instead of the weeds of loneliness. Until that time lace tablecloths will come out of storage, music and lovely scents will fill the air of this home. And I shall visit the Daisy Cottage when I feel despair raise its dark, obscuring head, for I know from experience, that it is ever lurking behind that next bout of pain and weakness. Your kind and generous response has strengthened my resolve, you have helped me more than you will ever know, my new-found friend." ~ Lenna

Thank You Rose!

  • "What I love best about Daisy Cottage is Kim. I love the way you appreciate every good thing in life and embrace joy in every moment." ~ Rose

Thank You Lisa!

  • "Here's how I can best describe into words how your blog made me feel. You know when you wake up in the morning and there's an early morning thunderstorm and every room in your house is as dark as night? Then, the rain and thunder stop and the sun comes shining through all the windows and you just know it's going to be a beautiful, sunshine day? Well, that's how finding Dear Daisy Cottage made me feel. From the bottom of my heart, thank you Kim. You blessed my day and may God do the same for you." ~ Lisa B.

Thank you Pamela!

  • "I am so touched by your words and photographs. Whether in happy or sad times, you inspire my heart and soul. We all need each other's light and you offer us that dose of sunshine." ~ Pamela

Thank you Joy!

  • "Your blog has helped me start to see the beauty in life again." ~ Joy

Thank You Anne!

  • "Thank you for your wonderful blog. I have been "lurking" but had to share with you how much you have helped me embrace the fun of decorating. I came to your blog looking for pictures to inspire me as I redecorate my house with cottage style. Today I was so tangled up in doing it "right" that it was really depressing me. I visited your blog again for some fresh ideas and came away realizing that there is no "right." Just me being me and enjoying my home! I am laying here in bed with tears in my eyes - tears of happiness that it is okay to be me and let that shine through in my house and what I wear and what I make with my hands. You are God's gift to me today and I thank Him and you." ~ Anne

Thank You Tracy!

  • "Your words and thoughts of encouragement help me see myself with value. You are a blessing. Thank you." ~ Tracy

Thank you Karen!

  • "Your humble spirit has not changed through your many posts here in Blogland. You have been blessed with a special gift and I am very thankful you share it with us." ~ Karen

Thank You Betty Jo!

  • "You truly inspire me to do whatever I can in my own little nest. I've always been an artistic dreamer, but you've enlarged my dreams with your way of seeing." ~ Betty Jo
