I hope that when the day is done, and you are able to sit down in your favorite spot and simply be ...that you sigh with deep content and feel with all of your heart that there truly is NO PLACE LIKE HOME.
And if you are not there now - I hope that you soon will be.
That's what I want for each of you - more than you know.
Love,
Me
What a sweet wish...thank you!
Hugs,
Melinda

Hi Kim
thanks for popping by the beach cottage
you know I've really been forcing myself to sit down and just be lately, even if it just for 10 minutes a day, to sit and think
I found that I had been creating all these spots on my cottage to love and look beautiful, a particular labour as it had to be on a budget and then I realised that errr actually I never sat down in them
last week I decided that in my little corner nook where I blasted everything white and beachy that I would create a little trip to France, since I am missing Europe here in Australia, soooo, anyway, I got all my frenchy books out and spent the simple be time sitting there with my books and sooo enjoyed it
it has really made me appreciate my home and like you say there is no place like home wherever it is
cheers
Sarah

Thanks, Kim,
My little corner of the world is where I love to be. Where my friends and family can come and share my little corner.
You have influenced me recently.... I never paint, but.....in the last couple weeks I've painted a small red table for my sun porch, a red flower pot and a bright yellow one. And I feel happy every time I look at them.
Thank you for sharing your Daisy Cottage with all us.
Blessings,
Hattie

There definitely is no place like home, I agree. Thankfully I was able to be home and work in my garden for a time, played with the kiddos, kept everybody fed all day, cleaned up(still more to do), saw my hubby off to work the night shift, got the kids into bed and now I can spend time here at the computer for a bit before I get my own self to bed.
I hope that you to have a wonderful week Kim and I thank you for all your lovely posts that we get to enjoy.:)

I know you do mean that Kim. I think a lot about what makes a home. To me the little cottage we inhabit now doesn't feel like home as such. Hopefully when we finish renovating then it will. Your Daisy Cottage inspires me to make my home wherever I am however. You are always a delight with your posts!

I love your blog and just have to let you know how much you have influenced me! I have always loved yellow, red and vintage green together and all of the bright colors in your cottage inspired me to go brighter in mine. I also recently painted some of our floors white which I just love. My pictures aren't nearly as good as yours but I'd love for you to stop by my blog some time and take a peak.

A really good read for this Monday morning, especially since I am enjoying some "home time." By the way, I love all your mixed china. Think on all the homes where those pieces came from, what occasions they were used at, the laughter or sorrow around the table, the families .... that's one reason I love using old things ... the stories they could tell!

Hi Kim
I can do that, but it took until I was in my fifties to be able to do it! Hope you have a good week.

Thanks Kim! That is exactly where I am.
I'm sitting in a wing chair, in the hearth room. I'm watching the rain, we're having again today. I see all the beautiful green trees and plants, from the window, beside the chair. A bonus bright spot is, next door neighbor, Cathy's orange lilies, blooming beneath the burning bush plants.
Have a great week!

Hi Kim
Thanks for the good wishes. You are so sweet.
Actually, I'm enjoying today because it's my day off from work and a very sunny day. I'm on my last load of laundry and then I'll be going outside and fiddle around in the garden for a while, then I'll just sit and enjoy the sounds of nature.
Hope you have a good day in every way.
Cheers

Funny you should post this... when we went to a graduation party in "Mayberry" this last weekend we had an okay time, but as soon as we reached "Mayberry Jr" and walked into PB&J Cottage we realized how right it felt. This is our home now and we absolutely love it here :)

I love your decorating style! Your house is so precious. My blog is called "There's No Place Like Home" so I totally agree with you!

Kim,
You are just the sweetest!
This post is so touching. I literally have tears in my eyes. I am not "there" yet but want to be so badly. We live in an apartment right now and no matter what I do or how I decorate- it just never feels like home. We have been house hunting and found one last week that literally has pulled at our heart-strings. The ugliest one on the block! It is all we can talk or think about! There are a couple of hurdles we need to get over but I am hoping that I will be "there" very soon.
HUGS
Heather:)
