Good Morning to you, and you, and you, and you, and YOU!!!
((((((hugs)))))
I missed you! Thank you VERY much for all of your birthday wishes! You are the candles on the cake - beautiful light in my life and I NEVER want to blow you out! ;-) I hope that that is okay.
And how about my sis? SHE is so special and I am SO lucky and blessed to have her. Thank you Jill - YOU are and always will be the wind beneath my wings.
I had a fabulous birthday and guess what? I was whisked away by my hubby to Savannah to celebrate! I LOVE Savannah - remember, we went there last year too. If I did not live here, I'd live there. Seriously, if you haven't visited sweet Savannah, you simply must. It is THAT special.
So we ate and shopped and ate and shopped and I will share those adventures with you next week. Today, I would like to take you to THE SWEETEST BAKERY ever.
Back in the Day Bakery had me at the door. I was instantly charmed.
You can read all about this adorable bakery here and here.
And enjoyed the most delicious cookie EVER - a lime sherbert cookie..
While we munched, I treated myself to the charm of Back in the Day Bakery - true yumminess for the eyes too...
I had the wonderful opportunity to meet Griff, who owns the bakery along with his wife, Cheryl ...
It was such a treat to visit this delicious place and I hope you are able to visit the bakery one day too. You are going to fall in love.
I also hope you have a beautiful weekend and I can't wait to share more of my Savannah visit with you next week ... we are going to shop 'till we drop, okay? And of course I shopped for you so there will be a giveaway too! In the meantime, please help yourself to the cookie!
Love you!
Kim

I have never been to Savannah, it sounds dreamy!
My 15 yr old daughter is taking a culinary course for the next 3 years of high school and her dream is to open a bakery. I will have to share your post with her. See now your site really is a family affair, Madigan loves the music!!

What a wonderful birthday trip you must've had, Kim! I'm sure hubby got lots and lots of hugs from you for his special thoughtfulness.
Wow - you can sense the love that the owners have put into the bakery. Every element, every detail shows it. The colors, the cups "spilling coffee", the seat doilies, the hand-written sign - I truly hope that Griff and Cheryl are very successful. You can't find that kind of loving care in a chain store. I adore you for sharing with us!

Kim, I love how you feel like all you did was eat and shop....we feel the same way when we go on a trip! That bakery is so sweet looking. I wish we had a bakery in our town, but it's probably a good thing that we don't, because I love my cookies and cupcakes, and I would be big as a house! Sounds like you had a great birthday, and I can't wait to hear more!

Glad you had a good birthday Kim! I so enjoyed your sister - she should visit more often!!
We love Savannah, but it is second to our first love, Charleston. Do you ever visit there? We normally end of staying on one of the various (and blissfully not very populated) surrounding islands and driving into Charleston. Many neat cities in that area.
Can't wait to see/hear about your trip!

Oh, I can already see that you were in your element, Kim. All that vintage eye candy that makes it look like a bakery from our childhood. (I'm two years older than you are, but still the same era!) Can't wait to see what you came home with! (Oh, and hon, the fifties are the best years for women, I've found.)

A belated Happy Birthday Kim! I have so enjoyed this blog. I stumbled upon it in the midst of a "funk" and got lost in the wonder of it all. Truly it was a factor in snapping me out of my funk! So thank you and God Bless you. I was out "thrifting" yesterday which I haven't done in way tooooo long and found a little bird on a perch...I've never bought this kind of thing before but at .99cents, I couldn't resist and it reminds me of Daisy Cottage. I brought it home, not sure where to put it but it found a little spot peaking out behind a vase on a table in the hall...it loves it there and is chirping to me...cheer up, cheer up...it's working!!
