A letter from Miss Maggie to Mr. Oliver Wendell:
Dear Oliver,
I think I might like you, but I can be kind of shy.
Are you shy too? Thank you for your letter. I'm going to keep it under my pillow. I mean under my Mommy's pillow because we share the same one.
Mommy and Daddy said that I could go for a walk with you - a very short walk because it would be our first date and I guess because we ARE very short. Then maybe we could catch lizards. Do you like lizards? I do but I can't catch them - well, I did - once. Do you think you could catch one for me? I would keep it forever. If not, we could just hang out. I like to do that too...
I like your bandanna and your eyes - they are so big. And I really like my flowers too. Thank you! They are my first.
Do you like fireworks? I don't. They scare me. I bet they don't scare you. You look so brave. I wish I was.
Oh Oliver, I think I might like you very much.
I hope we can go on our walk soon.
Signed,
Maggie May
Ohmygosh, if Oliver won't go for a walk with her, I WILL. I can't imagine any person or any-doggy wanting to hurt that little lady of yours. My goodness she sure is smitten with her new beau☺

Oh sooo cute!! I only have a serious old grey cat, and she would turn into a wild one if I only would put anything on her body, but there are times when she is kind of love-ill (I don't know the right words for it:)) then she isn't the same, she always rolls on the carpet and want to be touched and you can do everything with her:)
Yes, the spring.....

The last picture of her by the flower pot should be framed. She is so precious. I don't think Oliver realizes what a feminine girl friend he has.

Oh that's sooo cute! She's a very good writer...much better than I was back in junior high when I used to write to the boy I liked, " Dear X, I like you. Do you like me? Circle: yes or no."
I hope they go on their walk very soon and I hope she tells us all about it!

Humph.
Fickleness thy name is Maggie.
I thought we had something special. That we understood each other. Sure, these long-dog/long-distance things are seldom smooth, but now I see you have a new hound in your life. Flowers, Maggie? I never knew you like flowers. I thought that the occasional stick and dead chickadee was romantic AND original. But you sold me out for some lousy tulips and some soul full eyes.
Well, I hope you two are very happy on your little walk. Really. I'm not bitter. There are other dogs in the park.
If you want me I'll be listening to Sade on my iPup or watching The Notebook over and over and NOT THINKING ABOUT YOU. Or your cute little bandanna. Or the way your ears look all fluffy when you're napping.

I like that Maggie's mom is making her take it slow. I think a walk is the perfect way to get to know each other, because Maggie seems like a tender little blossom! What a great saga, and I'll continue to tune in!
Posted by: Carol | April 24, 2009 at 12:05 PM
Well, that post was just TOO cute!! :-)
Kim, I have a question. In your post about the book cozies, you show a yellow mug on a saucer. Is that Fiestaware? If so, what cup is that? I have some Fiestaware mugs and I never use them for coffee because the handles are really small and I always burn my finger on the cups. But yours look more like mugs. Just curious!
Smiles,
Mary Jane

You all are so precious and fun! Oliver just fell asleep on the sofa and I think he was dreaming of Maggie...chasing her on the beach! His leg were going and he was letting out little coos!

Uh oh. My Oliver went on vacation this past week and look what happened. It appears his chances with Maggie have gone by the wayside to another Oliver. He's under the desk pouting now and giving large sighs. I told him to read the fine print.....something about flowers. He should have known a girl loves flowers, and especially in Daisy Cottage colors. He'll have to live and learn. I on the other hand thank you for introducing us to Kelee. I have a feeling I'm going to waste the rest of my afternoon in the most delightful way.
Hugs,
