What I hope for my readers and for all keepers of the nest, is that they embrace their homes with their heart and all of the passion that it holds. I want them to know that they can decorate on a limited budget by seeing things in new ways; by rescuing the broken and transforming the ugly. I hope that they flaunt their favorite color and decorate their life with it. I hope that their homes feel like one giant hug that welcomes them each and every time they walk through their front door. More than anything I want everyone to have their own home-sweet-home dream come true!
xo,
Kim
I love stopping by here...especially as you are new to me so I kinda discover new things, like a new friend, you know?
funny really isn't it, seeing as my cottage is errrm, like virtually *all white and yours is errrm, all bright and mine is right down on under, the other side of the world...guess that's the beauty of this medium though...
I would love a bright sunny day...because it snowed all day yesterday. It was beautiful to see all those big flakes gently falling to the ground, but wait...I remembered that it is April not December! I want to see any sign that the tulips I planted are growing. Love all your pictures! And you too, have a great weekend :)
I love love your blog. I enjoy it everyday. I love love the plate rack you have above the window. I want to try that in my home someday. I really love that you live in a yellow house. My mom favarite color is yellow and I alway thought some day I will have a yellow kitchen. Maybe we will remodel someday. Wishing you a sunny day from my sunshine state to yours, ( I'm in SO. CA by the beach) Nanette
Are those curtains you found at Good Will? The look very pretty and they welcome the morning sun. : ) Beautiful photos and if I had a small dog like Maggie I think her paws would never touch to ground. That is why I do not have a lap dog. It would be in the arms. She looks lovely in her crocheted scarf. Happy Friday to you too and have a wonderful weekend.
Yes Bobbie Lynn, these are the curtains that I found at Goodwill!

Happy Spring Morning to yo Kim,
That valance is just perfect. The sun shining throught the window on it giving it such a fresh, spring look.
Maggie is so adorable with her crochet scarf. I have some of those, but don't think my cat would be happy with one of those around her neck. What do you think? Any help from cat lovers?
Happy morning to you. I love the pictures. I love checking your entries. It always puts me in a good mood. I love the plates above the window in your first picture. Thanks so much for stopping by my blog the other day and for adding me to your "Blog Candy". It makes me feel a part of Daisy Cottage. Pat Maggie on the head for me. She's such a cutie!
Blessings,
Patty
oh my, your puppy does let you play with her attire! So cute. Love the plate view too. Sunny day here in Carolina--time to plant some flowers, finally (still chilly though).
The curtains are PERFECT there! I think I may have to make some just like that for my next home. The trim really makes them special! Maggie is a doll, as always. Thank you for channeling some warmth out here to us still in the cold!
Blessings~LillySue
I'm smiling! I always smile when I visit your place! Maggie is just adorable. Sure wish I could get a photo of Nugget like that. He's a cutie too, but not nearly as photogenic as Miss Maggie!
Happy Spring to you, Kim. I am still speaking, although I didn't win the magazines or TUREEN;-(
Today, I bought the magazines myself and they are really worth it. You are amazing! Hugs, Marcy
Your place always make me happy and smile. So bright and cheery, makes me forget all my troubles. The music is perfect for your blog! My mother had some hankies like those in the earlier post. Thanks for sharing a piece of your world with us and Miss Maggie too! I have that same terrazo tile !
Hey, Friday's are a good day - it's my day off! The sun is shining, there is a slight breeze, I have tiny little shoots poking through in my garden and Miles is laying in the sun. All is good. Thanks for sharing a sunny day. ~ Robyn
I love to stop by your place. I also love Maggie's scarf. Yesterday I bought a really pretty "napkin" white with yellow flowers on it at Pottery Barn, I tied it around my Boxer Mary Kate's neck. she is a really small Boxer only 40 lbs. and 2 yrs. old so it fit really well. I adopted her last month, she came from a puppy mill background, and is so little for her breed, but she fits in my lap and that makes her and me happy. I am going to be on the look out for napkins that I can use for scarves at GW, which since I found your blog has become a weekly place for me to shop.
My happy girl and I send you and Maggie
Love and hope you have a great weekend. Randee in Houston
Maggie usually looks happy in whatever scarf you place around her neck... but I have to say she does not look happy in this new doily look... It's okay, Maggie... I think your mama will take it off after the photo shoot... poor thing.
Love your yellow curtains....they look perfect! I am a curtain junkie...especially from the Goodwill....I bought a load of them...70's calico all different colors...love them....Maggie looks soooo adorable and huggable...Have a wonderful weekend...
Di, you know our Maggie so well.
She was irritated with me and me being the good doggie mom that I am, I took her crochet "shawl" off so she could promptly get to the business of lizard hunting. Then she was VERY happy. ;-)

Beautiful pictures! Love that cute yellow valance!! And Maggie is looking very stylish in that lovely 'scarf'...so pretty!
Have a wonderful Friday,

Hi Kim, I wanted to say thanks for coming by my blog via the girls, Sue and Rue. I want to spend some time on your past posts, but as I just can't see this darn little screen on my new mini laptop, I will have to come by later with the spectacles! It is just the pits to admit that I can't see teeny tiny type any more! The squinting is giving me a headache. LOL- Maybe I should check out those contact lenses that I see advertised on t.v.?!
Back soon. Sue
Thanks for the lovely thoughts of sunshine. It's been pouring rain here all day so I sure can use it.
Just wanted to let you know that my three year old son said, "Hey, that music is beautiful and great. I want to hear it," when I pulled up your blog. Thank you for making us both smile today.
Good Day!
Gorgeous pot of begonias. Maggie is a happy pup in her frills and I love the window valance. Happiness is knowing you are loved and you must be very happy Kim!

Love that doily doxie!
It was a fabulous sunny day here!
And the estate sale I went to made my day even sunnier. Two sparkling cake plates, a glass decanter with charming stopper (it served pink lemonade tonight), another heavy glass dish, and a couple tiny doo-dads.
All for $15 !! I was walking around with my head held high. Love to find delicious things like that! What else could a girl ask?
Thank you for a happy place to always come to Kim!
maggie looks so cute Kim, but your comment about her lizard hunting made me smile. Your valance is so pretty, as I missed your previous post my favourite colour is purple to wear but I like blue and yellow around the house. Jane x
Maggie just brought the biggest smile to my face. My Friday was a little sad, but incredible too. My son and I faced a hurdle, and scaled it. We wrote about it on my blog for Pink Saturday. Have a wonderful weekend my friend. ♥
Sending sunny smiles your way too! I have been smiling..the 17th was my sons Birthday and I remember when...Plus, I took a road trip with my Mom to a Outlet Mall in Hanson,KY and it was a beautiful Spring day!:)Leah
I love those curtains! They're so cheerful, and Miss Maggie is the epitome of sweetness! It's a beautiful 71 degrees here today. Hope you have a great weekend!
It was Maggie who got me coming to your blog always hoping to see her sweet face in a post. I had just lost my dog this past autumn when I came across Maggie's photo and somehow I just helped to see her dear expressions.
Have a great weekend. :)
Your new old curtains look so perfect in Daisy Cottage, they look like they were made just for her and Miss Maggie is looking so pretty too!
Hugs~Kelly
I quoted you in my last blog post. Hope you don't mind - you just spoke to my "heart of inspiration" when you did your guest post at the Inspired Room!
Oliver Wendell is a handsome lad alright, but I'm not sure he's the one for Miss Maggie. I think she'll be bored with him after the infatuation wears off. Your blog is my happy place- thanks for the smiles!

Thank You Dena!
"Kim, I love your blog. I so appreciate you sharing every day. I miss you when you're gone. Losing my dear sweet baby boy in Iraq has made me treasure life and those so dear to me. Reading your blog is such therapy for me. You have made me treasure the finer things in life that I use to overlook. Birds singing, flowers blooming, my home and all of the treasures within it. I'm not sure that I ever looked at a teacup or saucer and saw such detail and beauty in it." ~ Dena
Thank You Grace!
"I would like to let you know what a joy it is to wake up each morning and read your delightful blog. I always feel as if you are speaking directly to me. Since I was diagnosed with an immune disease a year ago I wanted only to read positive and very inspiring blogs and your blog was the first I found. I think maybe the good Lord meant for me to find your blog and since then it has been nothing but smiles all around. I have tried very hard to stay positive about this disease and very up beat. I know that there is no cure and I have accepted this, but reading things with a positive message and filled with so much love helps. This is where you come in and I just wanted to say thank you from the bottom of my heart and to let you know how very much you and Miss Maggie are loved." ~ Grace
Thank You Francesca!
"Oh my! I have just stepped into heaven. A nostalgic, magic, getaway place where folk love one another and life is sweet. Kim, you will probably never know just how many hearts you have touched with your site. " ~ Francesca
Thank You Kathy!
"I visited my friends with their tasteful beige homes and sometimes questioned if there was anyone else in this world who loved the things I did. Then I found Daisy Cottage and a whole community of other women who shop the side of the road, paint their furniture fun colors, and aren't afraid to fill their homes with touches of whimsy and fun. What a relief! We aren't alone! I'm not alone. Thanks for all your inspiration and for confidently sharing your home and the idea that we can have fun with our decorating. I never get tired of visiting here Kim." ~ Kathy
Thank you Rue!
"That hankie is like you and your blog Kim. In the middle of all of the other beautiful hankies, it's the one that stands out and makes you feel at home." ~ Rue
Thank You Jeanette!
"Sigh.... between your music, red and yellow mellow feeling and wonderful writing I just feel so calm. What would I do without you in the morning with my cup of coffee." ~ Jeanette
Thank You Lenna!
"My eyes have been opened to a world I never knew existed. Such vibrant creativity, such caring community: it literally takes my breath away. After so much loneliness and isolation it is overwhelming to me that such a world even exists.
In time I hope to be able to fill my garden of life with lovely, loving friends instead of the weeds of loneliness. Until that time lace tablecloths will come out of storage, music and lovely scents will fill the air of this home. And I shall visit the Daisy Cottage when I feel despair raise its dark, obscuring head, for I know from experience, that it is ever lurking behind that next bout of pain and weakness. Your kind and generous response has strengthened my resolve, you have helped me more than you will ever know, my new-found friend." ~ Lenna
Thank You Rose!
"What I love best about Daisy Cottage is Kim. I love the way you appreciate every good thing in life and embrace joy in every moment."

"Here's how I can best describe into words how your blog made me feel. You know when you wake up in the morning and there's an early morning thunderstorm and every room in your house is as dark as night? Then, the rain and thunder stop and the sun comes shining through all the windows and you just know it's going to be a beautiful, sunshine day? Well, that's how finding Dear Daisy Cottage made me feel. From the bottom of my heart, thank you Kim. You blessed my day and may God do the same for you." ~ Lisa B.
Thank you Pamela!
"I am so touched by your words and photographs. Whether in happy or sad times, you inspire my heart and soul. We all need each other's light and you offer us that dose of sunshine." ~ Pamela
Thank you Joy!
"Your blog has helped me start to see the beauty in life again." ~ Joy
Thank You Anne!
"Thank you for your wonderful blog. I have been "lurking" but had to share with you how much you have helped me embrace the fun of decorating. I came to your blog looking for pictures to inspire me as I redecorate my house with cottage style. Today I was so tangled up in doing it "right" that it was really depressing me. I visited your blog again for some fresh ideas and came away realizing that there is no "right." Just me being me and enjoying my home! I am laying here in bed with tears in my eyes - tears of happiness that it is okay to be me and let that shine through in my house and what I wear and what I make with my hands. You are God's gift to me today and I thank Him and you." ~ Anne
Thank You Tracy!
"Your words and thoughts of encouragement help me see myself with value. You are a blessing. Thank you."

It was Maggie who got me coming to your blog always hoping to see her sweet face in a post. I had just lost my dog this past autumn when I came across Maggie's photo and somehow I just helped to see her dear expressions.
Have a great weekend. :)

Oliver Wendell is a handsome lad alright, but I'm not sure he's the one for Miss Maggie. I think she'll be bored with him after the infatuation wears off. Your blog is my happy place- thanks for the smiles!
