Let Your Home Be Your Heart

  • What I hope for my readers and for all keepers of the nest, is that they embrace their homes with their heart and all of the passion that it holds. I want them to know that they can decorate on a limited budget by seeing things in new ways; by rescuing the broken and transforming the ugly. I hope that they flaunt their favorite color and decorate their life with it. I hope that their homes feel like one giant hug that welcomes them each and every time they walk through their front door. Mailbox Goodies

I'm interrupting the little home tour, because I had to share with you these WONDERFUL mailbox goodies that I just received from two VERY sweet girls...

This delightful tray was waiting for me at the post office - it is from cute-as-can-be Jessi!  Thank you Jessi - I love it and I will think of you each time that I use it!  Sooo fun!

And something special arrived from one of my sweetest blog friends, Susan.... she wrapped up her surprise in a vintage napkin and pinned it with a vintage daisy pin!

I think it is perfectly okay to play house dress-up with fakes!  We all love fresh flowers and fruit - nothing can compare - but for those times when we may not have any on hand, it is fun to use fakes... no matter what the experts may say!  Right?  ;-)

It's Maggie's Birthday!

She was born five years ago, today, far far away in the mountains of Chehalis, Washington.

The day that she arrived in sunny Florida to be a part of our family was a very happy day, indeed!  From the moment we saw her silvery streak on her tiny head, it was love at first sight.  She looked up at us with those big dark eyes and we melted like butter.  Oh yes - she definitely had us at "hello".  Impish and full of charm from day one, Maggie has been showering us with love ever since.

And speaking of love, well you know that Maggie loves YOU.  We did a little birthday shopping and would like to give away these things to one of you in celebration of her special day, and of course, for Valentine's Day!  In your box you will find:

*A shiny red picture frame - perfect for holding a photo of your furbaby

*A box of Vera Bradley thank you cards - featuring a dog, of course

*A red heart pin found at a local thrift shop

*Two vintage dog figurines, because Maggie is like her Mommy and a vintage-kind-of-girl 

*A couple of adorable doggie hair bows and an adorable aqua blue sweater from Maggie's favorite boutique

*A copy of one of Maggie's favorite books - "Lassie Come Home"
