Speaking of love, I really LOVED reading your wonderful responses in the post below about the colors that YOU would choose or have chosen for the outside of your houses! Now I can picture you in your sweet homes and I hope that one day ALL of you will be able to have your home painted in the colors that you love. Oh, and no, I'm not thinking about painting Daisy Cottage another color... a yellow house was what I always wanted and I still love the color that we chose! :-)
And speaking of color, may I just say that colorful cloth napkins are MUCH more fun to use than white paper ones...
;-)
I hope you have a beautiful, COLORFUL day!!
xo,
Kim
What a GREAT idea! I hate paper napkins anyway, they're so rough! So why NOT mix up the gorgeous colors and patterns that we find? We all love going to sales and to thrift stores, so YEEHAW! I am on this as soon as I can start! You have the best ideas! Thanks, and I love the shots you put up and that bowl looks gorgeous!

Well you caught me there. I'm a white (boring) paper napkin user, don't ask me why. Okay, I know why. My grocery store doesn't have nice colored ones, and since it's the only store I seem to go to these days (and days turn into weeks) that's what's on the table. But I so agree, it would be much nicer to have colors!

Cloth napkins are just fabulous! I love all the color and charm you can add to your table with them. Your picutres are so full of vivid color and just beautiful.
Have a great week,

What a great idea! I would probably, though, not use mine except for display - I'm terrible about getting out stains, even when I follow professional advice. :/ So I'd be afraid to chance ruining the colors.
What do you do about that?
When I visit your site and hear the music and see your photos, I fall into the sunlight!
Thank You!

OK, you got me on the doggie trivia from the Wizard! So funny. Can't imagine it now.
Love your colors because I love white so much. It's the variety that makes it all fun.

I've been collecting cloth napkins for years and rarely buy paper. Visitors usually kind of roll their eyes, but I don't care. BTW, I love Maeve Binchey (one of the authors in your last post).

I love cloth napkins and not just to wipe your mouth with, I use them hanging out of "stuff", use them under "stuff", and on "stuff" and tie them on baskets. I also use them to tie up small gifts for friends with, so I am always on the lookout for pretty ones. Kim, have a great evening.

The different colored and patterned napkins neatly folded just lying there look so cheerful. I'd never have thought of mixing them that way, but it works! I know how to do some napking folding, used to do it when I worked in an assisted living community.

Good Morning! I read your blog all the time but have not yet commented. I also live in a charming yellow cottage but mine is not nearly as colorful as yours! :) I just read the latest Country Home mag. and one of the articles was "live with what you love and get rid of the rest." That is my new motto and have done a complete redo of my home. Many many many trips I made to the Goodwill with things that I truly didn't "love." The thing about your home that I do love is that you seem to love and enjoy everything in your home. Every corner is filled wit something special, unique and fun which seems to make your home warm and comfortable. I look forward to more inspiration and ideas. I've gone to an all neutral scheme in my home but everytime I come to your blog, it makes me want to paint! :) Sarah

Those look too cute. I have to agree with you. I sat down and made some handmade fabric\cloth napkins before Christmas. At first I felt a little old fashioned, and then started using them, and cannot stop! First of all, they are cuter, and secondly, they feel much nicer than paper! :)

Yours are so lovely and cheerful. They inspire me to throw out my dingy ones and make new ones.

I like cloth napkins too, and the great thing is, they are a great touch but not overly expensive! I have picked up great sets, fun french country looks or patterns, for less than 9.99 for a set of 4 at the local discount stores. I especially like vintage ones though, one of my favorite finds at antique stores!

Hi Kim,
Your blog and beautiful photographs always brighten my day. What a great colorful collections of cloth napkins you have to use.I could not agree with you more "cloth or paper" - give me cloth any day.
Bentley sends a big kiss to Miss Maggie and wanted her to know that she can see him in person on my blog post this week.
