Happy December!
Thank you VERY much for sharing your blog links with me! I have been adding them to my Blog Candy roll over the past few days and should be finished soon! If you don't see yours listed and you shared your link, please email me the link again, and I will certainly do my best to make sure that it is added! I'm so happy that your blogs are part of my blog too! :-)
I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving - we certainly did! It was delicious in every way... my sister and brother-in-law hosted the feast and a feast it was! From the turkey and stuffing to the homemade pies - everything was scrumptious! And, of course, the best thing about the day was spending time with our family. My family was VERY small when I was growing up, so it brings me great joy to know that my children are now part of a large, extended family. They have cousins and aunts and uncles and grandparents...they are blessed, indeed. And it was WONDERFUL having our Shannon home. :-)
I really can't believe that it IS December! I haven't started my Christmas decorating yet - I usually wait until December 1st anyway, BUT it is also because my sis and I (and my niece, Jamie, too) have been having alot of fun gluing, trimming, and painting a few things for the bedroom. I just love my sister - she's the BEST partner-in-design... and wait 'till you see the cute window valance that she whipped up for us in NO time! It's not hung yet, but I'll share that when it is. For now, I thought I'd share some of the little embellishes that we did...
Fun ball fringe for the shades...
This little chalkboard has been ALL over Daisy Cottage! I painted the frame red...
I painted the desk red (of course!)
I guess I think everything looks better in red - even an almost 30 year old photo!! ;-)
My creative sister, Jill, had the idea to attach cute scrapbook paper to the armoire doors with spray adhesive... she and Jamie created this embellishment in NO time - and I love it!
Oh it is SO fun embellishing Daisy Cottage - I hope you have fun with all of YOUR home trimmings too!
Speaking of that -
"Oh Kevin... can you bring in the Christmas boxes?"
;-)
What a gorgeous couple in that red frame. Love all of your embellishments as usual. Pam

Happy December, Kim. I always find a smile here waiting for me when I visit your blog.
I am taking a break from decorating our Christmas tree. It is the last thing I have to do, and I hope to finish today. It is back to work for me tomorrow.

The red you use is such a great color! Your home always exudes such happiness. What a joy to gather with your sister to embellish your happy home. I've been doing some rearranging and selling or giving away stuff, lightening my earthly load - lol! It's always nice to freshen up the look, isn't it?

I grew up celebrating holidays with my small (immediate family of four) family, too! I married into family who gets to celebrate holidays with more like twelve to fourteen people! It's really nice to have so much family around.
Nice job with the decorating - it looks great, as always! :)

Your reds and yellows always makes me smile. Because they are all over my house! I may have a lot of blues in my garden room. But reds and yellows have always been part of my decorating. Two of the most cheerful colors in the world. I can't wait to see what all you come up with for Xmas decorating!

Kim, When I was a young thing (1950's) my mother had a fire engine red stove! She bought it becuase it was a bargain price and a great stove. She painted the kitchen walls warm yellow and made yellow and red curtains to tie it together. She was way ahead of her time. Most people thought it was strange and I am sorry to say I was one of them because I would love to have that red stove now.
