We got back last night from spending a WONDERFUL weekend with our daughter, Shannon. It was "Parents' Weekend" at her college and we had such a great time with her and her roommates - they are all too cute for words - and we saw a fabulous football game.... especially because we won! ;-)
Shannon and I got in some thrifting time, of course, and I found a vintage red pocketbook in one of our favorite shops that I just love!! I know, I know, it's not for everyone - but it is for me! ;-)
Perfect to go with my red boots, right? ;-)
I hope you have a wonderful Monday! Oh, and try carrying a really RED pocketbook - the older, the better! I promise it will add a little fun to your day!
xo,
Kim
I'm so glad you had a wonderful weekend with your daughter, AND you have a beautiful new/old pocketbook to remember it by.

I carry vintage and handmaid purses all the time. It's so much fun.
I had one that struck up an hours conversations with my hair stylist. We decided we needed to cook up the story of the original owner. It was a hoot.
They don't make them now like they used to!!
Thrift stores are great for bargain finds, especially on hand bags. I got a Kate Spade (real or copy, I don't care!) for $2!!

Love your new purse! I LOVE red pocketbooks. For some reason if there is one in any store, I stop and look. I never realized how many I have until I stood back one day and looked at them all. I also love red shoes!

Kim,
So glad you had a fun weekend with your family and found such a cute purse. I love the shape and the color!
I'm in black till I shed a few pounds, but I might make an exception this week and wear a new (almost red... more like rust) jacket and slacks outfit I found. You've inspired me. Again. :-)
Happy Day,
Sheila

I'm one of those few women who carry pretty much the same handbag all the time. Too impatient to change things over. Cute bag though.

Cute bag, and would you mind divulging the name of your favorite shop? I always get lost for awhile when we are down visiting the in-laws, if you know what I mean! lol

Oh, yes, indeed, that IS a Kim purse/pocketbook! Very cute and what a happy color. I'm a one-purse gal. Strictly utilitarian; the smaller, the better. But I know you enjoy fun, happy things like this and it makes me happy that you had such a great find, in addition to the joy you had being with Shannon and her roomies. Sounds like a wonderful weekend!

Red boots, red pocket book...smiles... your not in Kansas anymore! I just love it and the fact that's it's vintage and that you and your daughter went "thrifting". It's so much more fun to share. Glad you had a wonderful weekend with your daughter.
And YEA your team won!

Dear Kim,
I always find great pleasure in visiting your blog. You make me feel so sunny!
Today you've brought tears to my eyes. Posting about your find and urging us to get a RED pocketbook, you've made me think of my mum's red pocketbook that she had been carrying for ages. Or rather it was different ones along the years but always of the same style.
I remember that when I left to go to College in London, I bought myself a red purse because it made me feel she was close to me.
So, thank you dear Kim for the beautiful memories you've offered me today.
