A Sunday eve is the perfect time to unwind on our porch swing...
A time to relax and just swing...
Back and forth...
Back and forth.
We are so thankful for our neighborhood...
We are so thankful for alot of things....
Sunday eve - a time to rest, a time to reflect, and a time to wonder what tomorrow will bring.
There is nothing as nice as sitting and rocking (in our case) and watching what is going on in your own yard, watching the birds and the little hummingbirds and squirrels. Of course it was too hot and humid to do that today but it is supposed to cool off by Tuesday and I can't wait to sit and reflect with a good cup of coffee.
Enjoy your Sunday evening Kim,

Good evening! I've missed seeing you at Vintage. Our schedule has been absolutely crazy so I haven't had time to get over that way as much as I like. See you soon I hope!

Your post sure makes me want a front porch swing! I do have one in the back yard. I like to relax and watch my bats fly out of the bathouse!

Hi Kim,
Love your swing and your wonderful photographs. My porch swing was "swinging" on its own today. We inherited some strong winds/rain today and our yard looks like a war zone again. Thankfully we didn't lose any big trees just dead branches from the last storm. I am thankful for the rain (we needed it) and thankful we didn't have any serious damage.
Your posts always makes my heart smile.
Hugs,
Connie
PS: Keep forgetting to say that Maggie's painting is so precious. She is as famous as her sweet mother.

Well Kim, I know it comes as no surprise that I LOVE porches! Yes, I'm passionate about porches. So your posting was truly enchanting and I enjoyed my view from your porch. Just this afternoon I too was sitting on my porch. We've had stormy weather, which is left over from Hurricane Ike. These hundreds of miles from the coast, we can still feel the effect. Though it is mild in comparison to the devastation our friends on the coast have felt. As our little princess laughed with delight and twirled around in the windy windy weather, I thought about how the porch is so representative of life. It is a shelter during wind and rain or a place to reflect on a hot summer day as the hummingbirds feed and the bumblebees drone past. Sometimes life is filled with storms and other times peaceful reflection. But I can always feel thankful and pass along a kind word to another hurting heart. So my dear, I didn't mean to write a book, but you just pulled it out of me tonight. You sweet Kim are the "poster child" for thankfulness and kind words.
I hope you will have wonderful week.
Love, Rachel

I am so going to miss swinging on the porch when winter comes. Although I have been known to sit out there with my coat on in the winter and swing. That is getting desperate isn't it ? hehehe

What a nice thing to do on Sunday evening. Sometimes we just don't take the time to just relax and swing.

What a peaceful looking place. I too sat on my porch today. I watched the 7 hummers fighting for territorial rights of my feeders. I listened to the birds and dogs in the distance barking. Love porch sitting!

One thing I'm thankful for is your beautiful blog, Kim. And like you, I'm also thankful for the freedom to sit in a porch swing and watch birds wing their way through an ocean of blue sky overhead. Most of all, I'm thankful that we can worship God as we choose. We have a lot for which to be grateful in this great nation of ours. With freedom in the balance, it makes the country's problems look smaller by comparison, doesn't it?
In St. Augustine, I look forward to the Christmas season because we can sit on the upstairs back balcony and hear (in addition to the clip-clop of carriage horses' hooves and the peal of church bells) the carillon playing Christmas hymns. Once, after a particularly trying week out of town, I got out of my car to the notes of "Oh Come, All Ye Faithful," and my heart responded in gratitude. Does it get any better than that? Well, maybe if there's a little black dog (or in my case, two) with shining eyes to greet you when you come home.
XO,
Sheila... who loves that pillow on your porch swing!

Hi Kim, ohhhhh, that looks sooooo relaxing!
I just love porch swings.....unfortunately, my little porch can't fit a swing so I have rocking chairs. Rocking is fun, too, but not quite as relaxing as swinging! I have been thinking of putting a swing out at the gazebo but then it would take up most of the space. Anyway, the pictures are beautiful. I love seeing the American flag..I think we all, as Americans, have a lot to be thankful for. Becky

Hi Kim...
You mentioned feeling grateful for so many things. I am so grateful to you and Daisy Cottage and that I found your blog. It has given me the motivation to get my own house 'done'. You've given me so many ideas and inspiration for projects. I am over the moon! I thank you so very much.

Please explain to this Yankee girl what the heck is hanging off your tree. It looks a little disturbing to me.

Hi Kim,
I just got caught up on your blog - have been very behind! But I LOVE both your photos and your use of colors!!! (and your whole blog!!!) But really - you use red, yellow, green, and it looks wonderful! How do you do that? If I would try that it would look like a hodge podge. You have a real talent! Well, just wanted to tell you thanks!

Hi, Kim. My daughter directed me to your charming blog, and I'm so glad she did! I find it very relaxing and inspiring. This time of year is full of nostalgia for me, kind of sweetly sad, but your pictures and words remind me of how many moments there are to catch and treasure, right now, just like moonbeams in a jar! Thank you, Dear.
