Sometimes this white mirror hangs inside the house...
And sometimes it hangs outside......
Of course SHE would like to be hanging outside, but that's beside the point...
The point is - whatever you love to decorate with INSIDE your home, you can enjoy these things outside too - dressers aren't just for bedrooms and mirrors can hang on any wall. Remember to HAVE FUN.. and step "out of the house", whenever you can!
Now, where's my Windex???
;-)
Hi Kim,
I actually used to have a mirror hanging on the outside of my house on the front porch. I used to think people probably thought I was nutty. I say be creative and different.
Hugs,
LeAnn:)

Such a wonderful idea...although in Nebraska our weather is so fluctuant that I would hate to leave a gorgeous dressor out in the rain or snow...:(..I wish I could be so whimsical...if I could I would..you know that! Love the old mirror....Hugs Lisa

The mirror and dresser look so good. Just like a magazine picture. I too have a yellow house and just love it. So cottage looking. I live on the coast of S. CA. and when you wake up every morning EVERYTHING is wet. Yuck.

Hi Kim,
I use mirrors in my gardens but have never thought to hang one on the porch!
I love this idea!
I have been collecting mirrors to do a mirror wall on the stair way {I know so cleche}
Maybe one will find its way onto the porch!
Thanks for sharing your beautiful home and wonderful ideas!

Good morning Kim :)
I just love the look of mirrors outside.
In fact, I changed out the big builders mirror in our bathroom for two smaller ones. Rich hung the big one outside for me, so that I would be able to see more of the yard while I was cooking inside the house, instead of just the siding of the fireplace. We had to take it down though, because when someone looked at the house it caused great confusion as to why it was there. Sometimes it's hard to be the only one with an imagination around here.
Anyway, I didn't mean to write a book (lol). That cute mirror looks good inside AND out. I plan on doing it again as soon as we can decorate how we want to ;)
Hug that sweet baby peakin' out the window for me ;)
love,
rue

I really need to pay more attention to my porch!
I've been thinking of hanging curtains to block the incredibly pounding morning sun and I really need more plants..
yours is beautiful!

I totally agree! I love your cottage...It makes me happy! And you make me happy, too! :)

Kim,
I love your brand of decor! I would do the same, but I don't have a porch and the Pa seasons would not be kind to inside furnishings on the outside. I do so love to see it!
I recently put a dresser in the foyer with a mirror above. I don't think it looks bedroom-ish at all. I really like it and oh, the storage! I can always use storage.
I was thinking of you and Daisy Cottage today, its' dreary and rainy here right now!
My three doxies totally hate wet or cold weather. How about Maggie? Does she mind?
Have a great afternoon.

Fun pictures. I, of course, love the picture of Maggie. She looks so sad because she is there instead of somewhere else. She's so photogenic.

Wow - it looks really beautiful outside, I would have never thought of that!

What a lovely idea. I always like looking at outdoor pictures of how people decorate their porches. Often times it is always soooo generic, 2 chairs, small table and a couple of plants. I love what you have done. In fact you have inspired me to spray paint a small chest on my front porch 'red'! Yipppeee I love new projects.
Thanks
Debbie

Hi Kim
I agree. About half our back porch furniture was meant for interiors. I love using it on the back porch though!
We're enjoying some fun time at the lake for a couple of days.
We have access to the internet for the first time since moving in. The HOA voted it in last winter. I'm sort of enjoying this new option.
Now,let me see what I can find in here, that can be move onto the deck!
Have a great weekend.

I have a mirror very similar to that painted black. Hmm, may have to reconsider its color and dig it out of the moving box!
Cute little Maggie peeking through the window.

I love mirrors outside and in the garden. Yours is so, so nice. The great thing is we are only limited by our imagination as to what we can do in our home and garden. Boy, do you have a wonderful creative imagination. Daisy Cottage, You Kim and Maggie bring such fun into our daily lives, and we look forward to what is next. Have a wonderful holiday weekend.

The mirror looks wonderful hung outside above the dresser. I especially love the red dresser and those black handles. Would you mind revealing the color of the red paint? Do you use the same color of red throughout Daisy Cottage?

How do you keep your red painted dresser looking so nice outside?
Do you use a special paint. I just picked up an old dresser on our bulk trash day and want to paint it and put in on the covered patio patio. You must know what the Florida humidity and heat can do. So many great ideas from you!
Love,
Rita

So, do you really think I should get that red dresser cum bookcase I have my eyes on, after all? And put those console tables in the veranda with some oilcloth for the winter?
Thank you so much for encouraging me to see all that beauty. Could you please pick a special award I have for you over at my blog?
Enjoy the weekend!

Love it! That's the motto for my life..."outside the box"...hehe! And I absolutley adore putting "indoor" items out and "outdoor" items in...great way to add character and spice things up. I have to say, I love the mirror in both places! ;)

If I only had a nice, large porch, and we had nice, mild weather, this would be perfect. We have too much wind, hotness and sand to use anything like this outside.
It sure looks pretty on Daisy Cottage porch, tho. And, little Maggie...awhhhh, so cute...
love, bj

I love this idea, but I don't have a porch. I don't think it would look good on my deck. My front porch is way too small. But, I love the way your porch looks!

Oh my gosh, I just started yelling to my family to come look because we have that exact dresser in red! How funny! I love this post because it's given me inspiration to style it up and maybe even put it outside with my red patio furniture.
