Let Your Home Be Your Heart

  • What I hope for my readers and for all keepers of the nest, is that they embrace their homes with their heart and all of the passion that it holds. I want them to know that they can decorate on a limited budget by seeing things in new ways; by rescuing the broken and transforming the ugly. I hope that they flaunt their favorite color and decorate their life with it. I hope that their homes feel like one giant hug that welcomes them each and every time they walk through their front door. Corner in the Bedroom

It is raining outside and there isn't any natural light for me to take a good picture of this corner in our tiny bedroom, but I wanted to show you the little blue table that I got at Rusty Crickett's the day we visited.

It is a sweet table - one that can go in lots of places here at Daisy Cottage. I might even put it upstairs when I turn that room into a guest room.  But for now, I think it helps to create a cozy corner in here.

psst... visions of redoing this room are dancing in my head - should I go with yellow, blue, or my favorite red?  ;-)

Anyway, this rain is making me want to snuggle under the quilts and take a nice, long nap..

Inside or Outside

Of course SHE would like to be hanging outside, but that's beside the point...

The point is - whatever you love to decorate with INSIDE your home, you can enjoy these things outside too -  dressers aren't just for bedrooms and mirrors can hang on any wall. Remember to HAVE FUN.. and step "out of the house", whenever you can! 

Now, where's my Windex???

Peaches, Etc.

I LOVE really ripe peaches - don't you? I also LOVE peach cobbler, but I am needing a really good recipe... care to share? I'm craving putting one of these aprons on and making some yummy cobbler and, of course, topping it with rich vanilla ice cream!

I spent some time in Vintage today and here's a little peek of a  mirror that has decided to come home with me -  I fell in love with the chippy orange flowers...

AND I met the sweetest lady who came into the shop and who reads my blog...She was SO kind and SO nice and meeting her made my day!   :-) 

I'm sending her a virtual (((hug))) right now and I hope that we meet again soon.

Let's see - anything else? Oh, I found this painting last week in a shop that is located in a charming, historic town about two hours away. Luckily for me, it is on the way to my daughter's school so I will definitely be going back and I'll make sure to have my camera with me too. You know I love vintage floral paintings and I thought this one was perfect for this corner...

As the store employee was wrapping the painting for me to take home she said, "This is such a happy painting!" I smiled and said, "I know. I think so too."   

And so does Miss Daisy.   ;-)

BFF

It's not Monday - it is still Sunday, but I just HAD to share with you what Maggie's cutie-pie dachshund friend, Pearl sent in the mail to her! Please, oh pretty please, hop on over to Dianne's wonderfully creative blog and read her fun post about her doxie's special Pearl Party! It was soooooooo adorable! It will surely bring a smile to your face!  :-)

Anyway, Maggie received her very own party gifts from Pearl - she got yummy treats and a precious card from Pearl herself!

Now I had to tell Maggie that Pearl lives far away - that she wouldn't be walking up the street anytime soon....

Message on a Chalkboard

I miss my daughter who is now back at school.  Far, far away - to me, that is. This never gets easier does it?  How do lumps form this big in our throats and isn't it amazing how easily our tears can fall... one after the other?

I miss the sunshine because Fay is still hanging around our state, and it has been dark and rainy for days.  Just dreary, dreary.

I miss YOU, because I haven't been around AND I'm sorry to report, I haven't caught up with all of your nice notes either.  Please forgive me.  Maybe next week? Yes, I think next week will be a calm week.

But I do want to thank you VERY MUCH for being excited for me and Daisy Cottage with our future magazine feature....as always - YOU ARE THE BEST.

Before I sign off and begin another hectic weekend, I wanted to share with you these wonderful gifts from Addi that brightened my day and brought me sunshine in this way....
