It's Saturday and tomorrow is Father's Day. We'll be honoring Mr. Daisy Cottage with lots of attention, maybe a gift or two, and his favorite meal. What a wonderful father he has been! Our children are very, very lucky.
And of course, I'll be thinking of my own father (I was born on Father's Day - it was on the 21st that year) and knowing, that even though it has been 24 years since he passed away, he's always here.
Even if I can't "see" him - I know. He's here, in my heart..
Every day.
I hope you and yours have a WONDERFUL Father's Day!
Love,
Kim
Ahhh, what a sweet front porch!
I love your cozy cottage.
Happy weekend,
Laurie~

Kim, I'll be missing my daddy, too. He has been gone for almost 26 years. I could use one of his great hugs.
But, I will be honoring my husband and our son. They are both fantastic fathers.

Kim,
Your porch looks just lovely! I almost feel like i am there with you ( and Ms Maggie May)
sitting, the warm sun on on our faces sipping on mint ice tea. AHHH.... how relaxing! :O)
I know what you mean about your sweet daddy~ I lost mine last July and although tomorrow is going to be a difficult day to get through I know that he's not really gone~ He's with me always, in my memories, in my heart. Just like i know your dad is with you!
Tomorrow i will think of all the funny things that my dad did to make me smile. I think he would like that!!
Whatever you have planned for your dear hubby i know that you will make it a very special day for him. Please wish him a very happy fathers day from all of us!
love, lisa

Have a wonderful Father's Day with your family. I know how you feel in missing your father. Mine, too has passed away five years ago. I still pick up the phone in an attempt to call him to tell him about something going on in my life. He's still ever present in my heart and my thoughts.
Hugs,
Barbara

Hi Kim,
Daisy Cottage is looking lovely. I know exactly what you mean about tomorrow, it happens to me with my mom, almost 11 years this November and I too feel she is with me all the time.
I hope your weekend is filled with love & happiness.

Happy Father's Day to Mr. Daisy Cottage tomorrow. Your home looks lovely every time I stop by. I wish I lived close enough to stop by and visit over a cup of tea.
I, too, miss my father a lot. He's been gone just past five years and Father's Day is always bittersweet. Celebration of my sweetheart, my son and son-in-law. But missing my dad. So much. You are right, they are close. In our hearts. And such sweet memories.

HI Kim! I am not a blogger but I have enjoyed looking at your's very much.
I lost my dad and my best friend four years ago...two days after Father's Day. I have such and empty feeling inside today thinking about him. It is comforting to know others have the same feelings and thoughts this week-end.
Enjoy your day with Mr. Daisy Cottage and Maggie. :-) Debbi

Happy Father's Day to Mr. DC and Happy (bit early) Birthday to you.
My own Dad has been gone now for almost 13 years (Nov 1) it's a bitter sweet day, my kids also have a wonderful father. This will be the first time my son won't be around to celebrate he moved to CA last month. It's like college all over again, we miss him something awful :(
I'm also thinking of Tim Russert and his family, what a shock !!!
Have a wonderful day with your family Kim,

I lost my Mom 31 years ago on Father's Day (June 19, 1977). No one can take the place of a parent. I miss my Mom so much and I know you miss your Dad. My Dad died in 1991, so I don't have either parent.
God Bless You and we will both make it through this special day with memories to carry us through.

Kim, I think it is sad for all of us that have lost their Dad and to think about them on this day. But to celebrate with the one you love is a cherishable memory for our children to carry with them. Thank you for sharing and have a happy day.

What lovely images, Kim. And beautiful thoughts. My dad left us about 15 years ago and as I celebrate the holiday at the lake, I am constantly reminded of the man who loved this place so very much.

Hi Kim,
I am spying that new tablecloth, it looks pretty.
My father is still alive but suffers from a severe mental illness that took him away from us about 8 years ago. He was only 68 when it happened, way too young. I mourn him even though he is physically still alive.

I hope that Father's Day was great for your family. I am so thankful to still have my Dad but lost my Mom four years ago. Mother's Day is really hard but I- like you-feel like she is in my heart and all around me.
I came to your blog via a blog from a far off place only to realize that you are out my back door literally. What a small world! I have admired your house for years and drive by it just about every single day. Your dresser on the front porch sent me on a mission to find one for mine. I LOVE your decorating style. I have always wondered what your house looked like on the inside..I have been so tempted to come up and knock on your door!!
Thanks for your beautiful inspiration!

I know it's corny, but since I grew up without a dad, and "Stranger on the Shore" has sort of become my personal relaxation music, (thanks to you and your Daddy) I was thinking a little about your dad yesterday on Father's Day...these blogs can create such a lovely feeling of extended family in this hurried, far from our roots, world. Thanks again for sharing with us! Bobbi

Hi Sweet Kim, We had a wonderful father's day. My hubby has been the most awesome father, like your hubby, and I wish their special day came around more often throughout the year. I know your father is there with you too! He is sooooo proud of his precious daughter and family. Your photos are always so gorgeous, and I especially love the one of the white geranium. xoxo

Hi Kim
Remember me? I've been so bad about blog reading lately...not because I don't want to read, but because of my crazy life recently. Lots of company, which has been wonderful and then all the medical tests, "hoopla", etc. You've been a busy, busy girl. I've really enjoyed reading all your posts I've missed and seeing all your gorgeous photos.
Hugs!
