I DO love my tablecloths! I rotate them around from table to table, depending on my current decorating mood. I keep them when they are not in use in a white wicker trunk that is stored under our buffet. With the exception of this special one that my sis made for our dining room table, I find them at Goodwill...
They are usually only a couple of dollars each and I use them not only for tables, but also for recovering seat cushions and pillows. Sometimes, I simply drape them over the backs of chairs - giving them an extra layer of pattern and color.
Another idea is to fold a round cloth in half and create a window valance out of it. For a little bit of pocket change, you can have so much fun dressing your home with tablecloths!

She isn't perched on a tablecloth BUT she wanted to show you something...
See how little locks of hair are sprouting on her ears and chest?
Yes - she is feeling MUCH better about herself now. The "diva" is back! ;-)
o my gosh!!
i am in love with that black and white tablecloth!

It is soooo much fun to "visit" your lovely home. Thanks for sharing. Christy :-) <><

Thanks for another tour! I'm drawn to the linen sections when thriftng too. I'm learing to think outside the box. Napkins can sometimes turn into pillows or valances, tablecloths can become curtains, cushion covers or throws, sheets can become a new slipcover for an old chair. With tutors such as you from the land of blog to give us continual inspiration, the possiblities are endless.

P.S. from Brigitte Lilly
Maggie, I TOLD you your lovely hair would grow back. Oh, can I offer you another piece of doxie advise? Don't hang around when mum and dad are painting the ceiling on the back porch (or anywhere else for that matter). I did. I ended up with specks of white paint all over my black body. I thought it looked kind of cool - like my dapple cousins - but mum and dad didn't think so and gave me a (gasp) BATH!
Your doxie friend, Brigitte Lilly.

Kim~ The yellow tablecloth looks just lovely against your black table/chair. I also love the black and white one your sister made you! :*)
The old window hanging on the wall - did you paint it? Does it have glass in it? I have one but am not sure what yet to do with it!
Please give Ms Maggie a huge kiss for me and tell her i think she looks beautiful with long or short hair!
have a blessed Sunday! lisa

Awww...look at Maggie all head-held-high again. Love the tablecloths, Kim. Your house always looks so welcoming and fun. I love that black and white pattern on your chair...very cool.

Maggie is just a sweet little girl. I too have a "thing" for tablecloths". I've used an old battenberg cloth for a curtain in my mother's room. I really love it when I see find a vintage one at the thrift store too.

Hi Kim,
I love the black and white with the toile bottom, that is so lovely! I have my little stash of cloths too and I love playing with different looks. I wish I could find them in the thrift stores here! I always look but they are tough to find.

I didn't realize there was so many things to do with tablecloths! Thanks for the ideas and the tour... I especially love the tablecloth draped over the wicker chair!
Your doggie looks absolutely adorable!

Kim -
I love the tablecloths you shared - especially the black and white check with the toile ruffle. I love to search for tablecloths and there are a few fun places to go where I often find them. I can't always afford them but I can look and enjoy them. I love what you did with the lace cloth over the chair. So pretty!

I, too, love tablecloths...I posted my dining room on Rate My Space once and everyone said "HEY...lose that tablecloth" and I said NO WAY...I love the look and feel of a cloth...the colors...everything about them.
So glad your Maggie is better....GOOD GRIEF,what a bad time for her. I've had hair cuts that made me want to crawl under the covers and never come out....

I've been a tablecloth lover for 30 years. I use them for everything. Your home is so lovely. Funny thing is, my house is the same color as yours. I must have some good taste and didn't know it. Thanks for sharing day to day so some of us can just dream a little. M :-)

I love the look of "dressing" the tables and I notice that you have discreetly covered most of the leg, however a shocking (!) amount of ankle is left bare!! But they are beautiful legs and ankles and fit for showing off...I understand that when dresses were long, a woman's legs were not referred to in such a vulgar way; they were limbs!!
Kim, I haven't commented lately, but I read every day (if you haven't posted I go back to previous months :0) and I thank you for your wonderful words and pictures. You Artful Blogger, you!
Oh, and you look beautiful Maggie!

That Maggie steals my heart EVERY time!!! I have never seen a dog pose for the camera like she does! Our doxie will not be STILL long enough for a decent picture! Of course she is only 11 months old so that may change.
Thanks for sharing!

Yes -- there are lots of tablecloths here at Rosemary Cottage too! Especially when I find them on clearance at places like Ross; Target or T.J. Maxx. I just love the way that a bit of fabric can really change the feeling of a room! Right now -- the kitchen table is wearing red gingham to warm things up a bit! And the dining table is sporting an old gold velvet runner .....again for that touch of warmth! LOL! LOVE your selections -- especially the gorgeous black-and-white one!

What a beautiful display of your tabecloths. I especially like the idea of throwing one over a chair for extra charm and coziness. I think I'll try that. Thanks~

Dearest Kim, Maggie is looking lovely, and so are your tablecloths! The DR table is the easiest thing to change up for a different look. I do it OFTEN! I make my tablecloths or get them for very little at VV. BTW, I am making your blonde brownies as we speak, & if the batter is any indication of how good they will be OOOOOH MY!! they will be very, very yummy! lol, Cindy

I love tablecloths, too. I bought one recently that I may use to recover a free thrift store chair! So glad to see Miss Maggie looking so perky-- after all, a girl's gotta feel good about herself! :)
