See that funky zebra blanket?
A little doxie was just cocooning in it...
Maggie is a Florida dachshund and Florida dachshunds get cold whenever the temperature dips the teeniest, tiniest bit! She was very happy the other day when I brought home this fuzzy blanket for the big bed and she wasted no time in claiming it as HERS. After all, she's a hip-and-happenin', cool doxie chic.
Unfortunately for Miss Maggie, I had lists to make and things that needed to be done..
And one of them was to make the big bed! Sorry Maggie! Go find your brother - he's pretty furry too! ;-)
AWWW look at how cute Ms Maggie looks all curled up in her blanket! What a sweet picture to start the day off with! :O)
Here in Ks it is raining ice so guess where my puppies are? It is hard to move them isn't it? Hope you have a wonderful day Kim!

Your room is so lovely and Miss Maggie is a cutie pie. She would not like our temperatures this morning. I awoke to a balmy 13 degrees here in PA. Brrrrr

Aren't our furry friends the best? Maggie wouldn't like the icy snow we got yesterday that canceled school.

Your bed looks very snuggly and inviting and not just to animals. Looks like it should be in a snowy, cold climate with the pretty red quilt:>)
I have 2 cats on my bed asleep as we speak.

Your Maggie is so cute! I have been asking my husband for one of those furry throws this Christmas. It looks so nice on your bed.

Well, if that isn't the face of sheer and utter contentment, I don't know what is!!! Sooooo precious!
Oftentimes during the day, I will walk past our bedroom door and see one or BOTH of our German Shepherds curled up in our bed. It makes me laugh but drives my hubby nuts. (No dogs in the bed!) Even our daughter's weird cat, who rarely comes out of her room, has taken to sprawling out in our bed & purring like crazy since I bought the new damask quilt (but only when it's not occupied with dogs!). The dogs have always loved to snuggle down in the bed but I can't quite figure out why the cat has a sudden love affair with our bed now. Must be the new colors in there Kim! lol.

P.S. Sorry, forgot to type my name on my comment! Also wanted to say that I think Santa should bring Miss Maggie her OWN furry zebra throw!

I want to ~coon~ with Maggie on that big bed!!
Maggie sweet Maggie you certainly would NOT do too well here in my snow covered world!!

The bed looks so cosy, no wonder Maggie wants to snuggle in. I would too! Such a lovely warm room and I love the unexpected addition of the zebra!

Oh, that Maggie! What a dog...I just love that girl. What a cute post, Kim. Maggie is always a star and I love her little zebra throw.
And wow, did you score with the Christmas stuff from Goodwill. I definitely think your thriftstores are better than ours. How perfect that swag is for your frontdoor. Merry Christmas to you, dear Kim.

Cute! Now completely off the subject, but I want to know how you keep those framed pictures above the window from falling and hitting you on the head as your slumber?
Posted by: Chris | December 06, 2007 at 11:11 AM
Awwww. You made her get up? I bet she thought you were being a mean mommy. Did she get to come back?
Pictures of your home always amaze me. It's so beautiful.

I bought a throw just like that for my teenage daughter's room. It's the softest thing I've ever touched! She loves it and carries it with her throughout the house. I can understand why Maggie would want to snuggle with it!

What an adorable post. And your bedroom is just beautiful! I love the green color on the walls and the layers of linens. Lovely!

I am the "mother" of 4 fur babies. Two of them Doxies. They do love to cuddle. Our Peggy Sue is a real snuggle bunny. Seven years ago she was born in our bed. Yep, dead center the middle of our bed on the 4th of July. We did not know her Mommy (Trixie Gertrude) was in labor. It was early. She had been acting kind of funny all evening, but we thought she was upset because children in our area were doing fireworks. We picked her up, put her into our bed and she RAN under the covers. She snuggled up next to my husband's legs...a little later my DH throws back the covers and tells me "I am WET" then we hear it...the yip yip yip of a puppy...Peggy Sue had been born, Trixie was pushing out the next pup and we were up the rest of the night. We got Trixie into HER bed and she gave us 5 more healthy baby boys. I loved watching Trixie Gertrude with her babies. She was a wonderful mother. Giving those boys away was so hard. I gave them away, did not sell them because I want to know where my fur grandsons are. I know where all but one of them is. Rocket (as in born on the 4th of July) was stolen from a friend's back yard. So I do not know where he is.....I pray he is okay.
Thanks for the blog. It is fun to see your Maggie...Roxie

Please leave the bed unmade! Maggie needs to stay warm. I dare say she would not survive up here. Today it is only 10-degrees and that is mild for December.

Kim, your room looks lovely. The colours are so warm. No wonder Miss Maggie wants to curl up and have a snooze in there.

Well I can't say as I blame her for wanting to snuggle down for a cozy nap in that beautiful room! I'd have trouble leaving it myself :)

Just found your lovely Daisy Cottage a few weeks ago. I have a Corgi and find tubular dogs irresistable. I call my Jazzie Sue a comfort seeking missile!
Thanks for the little spot of order and beauty in the midst of my messy life.

What an inviting bedroom you have! Surely Molly has to have help getting onto the bed, and help getting back down, too!
This makes me think of our little terrier
who used to be very unhappy when we made
him get off the bed. Once he overheard on television, a girl telling her dog to get off the bed, and he started growling at the TV--and he usually paid no attention at all to what we were watching. Miss that little guy...

That is so funny Kim! The weather has been just perfect hasn't it. Sssssshhhh...we won't tell any more people looking to move south.
Your bedroom pictures are always so charming and so pretty. And what fun goodies for Christmas you found at the Goodwill. But everything looks good once you get a hold of them!

Yeah, my doggy is always curled up so nicely each and every morning . . . then I have to remove him to make the bed. I'm sure he's thinking, "Mean mommy, mean Mommy!"

My Daisy would get along fine with Maggie.
Daisy has her own bed and blankets that she has to get covered with whenever she takes a snooze.
I LOVE your bedroom. The red and green looks so cozy and the ZEBRA blanket is such an unexpected surprise.

Wow...it's been over a week since I've wandered by, Kim. Your place is looking fantastic and festive! I have NO decorating done. Talk about last minute!! Little Maggie couldn't be any cuter if she tried. What a little boo boo she is. I want to cuddle up with her in that gorgeous bed! I love all the quilts. Very homey--what you do best!
Posted by: Sharon | December 07, 2007 at 09:26 AM
So "cozy"...Miss Maggie looks quite comfortable :)
I could use everyone of those throws right now....it is so COLD here in the NE...as I get older I dislike the winter more and more, we are heading SOUTH for the Holiday this year. I can't wait I am counting the minutes not days...LOL
All the Best....

I love how you decorate your house. I think it is great that you found neat things at Goodwill. I think I need to check out thrift shops near us. My kitty is on my lap looking with envy at your Maggie, I think she wants a cozy blanket also.

Miss Maggie is just like my Paris Fifi, they feel the cold and they're always wrapped up, tucked up in a cozy spot somewhere! We have to be careful not to sit on our teeny tiny little lady! lol

Isn't Miss Maggie too adorable in that zebra throw? Kim, I *love* this room! You've totally re-inspired me to paint my room (the project has been on a back burner). My master bedroom is in a similar pallette, tho pale boring walls. Now that we've been deep in home improvement land for the last two months, I'm all charged up to do more (see my blog). Thank you for your delightful blog and all the delicious pictures. Keep the inspriation coming!
