This sweet heart given to me by a REAL SWEETHEART, Debbie LaFrance, is truly something special. She made this herself - isn't it lovely? Thank you Debbie, VERY MUCH, for this heart and for the adorable little hand towels that you made for me too! I love them! xoxoxoxo

All of you are "something special" to me - and today, I dedicate the song "On Top of the World" to each of you.. these lyrics truly express how I feel about you! ((hugs))
Such a feelin's comin' over me
There is wonder in 'most ev'ry thing I see
Not a cloud in the sky, got the sun in my eyes
And I won't be surprised if it's a dream
Everything I want the world to be
Is now comin' true especially for me
And the reason is clear, it's because you are here
You're the nearest thing to heaven that I've seen
I'm on the top of the world lookin' down on creation
And the only explanation I can find
Is the love that I've found ever since you've been around
Your love's put me at the top of the world
Somethin' in the wind has learned my name
And it's tellin' me that things are not the same
In the leaves on the trees and the touch of the breeze
There's a pleasin' sense of happiness for me
There is only one wish on my mind
When this day is through I hope that I will find
That tomorrow will be just the same for you and me
All I need will be mine if you are here
I'm on the top of the world lookin' down on creation
And the only explanation I can find
Is the love that I've found ever since you've been around
Your love's put me at the top of the world

Hello Kim, I love this song. I remember seeing this first performed by the carpenters on Top of the pops (Uk tv show from the 70's) Karen carpenter was holding a Paddington Bear. I hope you don't mind me visiting i found you yesterday, but had to rush off to cook dinner. I love Acker Bilk too and thanks to you I borrowed a copy of his CD from the libray so I can listen to more. Hope you have a lovely weekend, Jane

What a lovely sentiment. I always love coming her to see what the song is. And get this, just as the music came up, a bright blue jay flew into my yard and started preening around. Neat! ~A :-)

Oh, Kim, I meant to comment on this October 24th, my parent's anniversary, and the first time I noticed you had added Top of the World to your playlist. When that song first came out when I was a little girl, I remember my mother just loved that song. If it was playing on the radio in the car when we got wherever we were going, we would have to listen to the whole song before we got out of the car. Now whenever I hear that song, it makes it a special little moment for me. And now I realize where I got this from....I still have to sit in the car and listen to the whole song if it is one of my favorites, before getting out of the car. Thanks so much for including my mom's favorite song on your blog. I was connected before...but even more now!! Love, Vicky G.

What a chipper song to greet guests with! I love the sweet heart you received. It reminds me of a heart that a good friend made from a piece of my wedding gown. She monogrammed it, and we pinned it to the inside of my daughter's wedding dress with a cameo that my Mom left to her. She also made me a twinkie one that can be used as a holiday ornament. Good friends are the best...I love stopping by your lovely blog Kim!

You are special to us too Kim. I have always loved the velvet voice of Karen Carpenter. Her beautiful voice was silenced much too soon in this world.
