I've wanted one of these for a looooooong time.....
I'm so happy that this one is now mine! Don't you think it will be way more fun carrying cakes and pies to gatherings in this vintage cutie instead of using my old, dingy Tupperware? I can't wait to use it... hmm, anyone want to invite me over? I'll bring the cake! ;-)
OHHHHH Yes, I want to invite you over.....I love cake, I would TRY to steal the cake carrier, I really, really want to meet you, and my house would love your talented touch!!!! How soon did you say you were coming?????? :^)

I am sure everyone would love for you come visit and bring a choc chip cake in your new cake carrier. So pretty! I love your style Kim!
Posted by: lisa | October 25, 2007 at 11:02 AM
I know the joy you must have had when you found that - because I have one that's identical, but pink instead of red - flowers and all are the same!! I won it on Ebay about 6 months ago and I have still not stopped smiling when I see it.
Posted by: Grace | October 25, 2007 at 11:10 AM
Gee Kim, that carrier looks like it's in fabulous condition. (The colors and flowers remind me a lot of the red tole tray you gave away in September for your one year anniversary.) Great find! And of course I'd be thrilled beyond words to have you come over...with or without cake! Anytime you want to take a little day trip, just let me know. I'm really easy to find. :)
Posted by: Shari | October 25, 2007 at 11:16 AM
Kim, you are definitely welcome at my home ANYTIME, whether you bring cake or not! I think I would ask you to bring Maggie! LOL
I do love your cake carrier - I have always wanted one!

The cake carrier is beautiful. Just right for Daisy Cottage. And guess what? I have a little chick pitcher just like that one.

Oh how cute and red too. A great find Kim. I have been looking for a nice one for years. I have a great pie carrier but I guess I'll just have to keep looking for the cake carrier. Lucky you.

Too cute! Bust out the cake ingredients and your apron, 'cause the baby is just begging to be put to use.

I almost fell off my chair when I saw the picture. I love it! Love the chicky too!
Posted by: Carrie J | October 25, 2007 at 12:55 PM
How cute!!! What a great conversation piece this would be if you carried your goodies in it. Too cute! I have a green one with little daisies on it and love it! Cute little chick-a-dee! xo, Becky

Please come to my house!!! I know you're a good baker! I used to have a little cow pitcher but I'm not sure where that went to. It was Craig's Grandmothers. I think he made it disappear! He grew up on a large Dairy Farm in Southcentral PA but really doesn't find it all that charming...he's in technology now!!
So, are you coming? :))
Posted by: Bethany | October 25, 2007 at 01:26 PM

That is so perfect for Daisy Cottage. I have a vintage cake carrier but it's not as cute as that one. Great find! Now what kind of cake will you bake?
Posted by: DebraK | October 25, 2007 at 04:14 PM
Lots of ooooo-ing & aahhhhhh-ing going on here! Can you hear me sqealing with delight? It's fabulous! I'm always trotting off to visit someone with cake in tow, and I'm always looking for a nicer prettier way to transport my goodies too. That's it, I'm officially jealous now sweetie. lol

Hi! I LOVE your cake carrier! I'd welcome you to Michigan, and you would really love our crisp fall weather and a trip to the local orchard for fresh cider and a crispy sweet apple!
Also, you would be the cutest arriving at a dinner on the grounds at the church with that lovely container! I love potlucks, and if I were YOU, I would find one to go to! I know that cake would be a hit and all you would take home with you would be crumbs!
I have to ask again, Kim about where you get your little doggie coats for Maggie? I lost the info you had emailed me over the winter and, since here in Michigan it's freezing weather again, I need to get my little boy mini-dox in a coat made just to fit HIM!!
Thanks again for your LOVELY blog, which I try to catch up with almost every single day!

You have an open invitation to my home...anytime...with or without cake.
Hugs!
Kat
Miss Daisy would love to meet Maggie too.

Come on over anytime! I would eat cake from dingy tupperware OR a vintage cake carrier, but the vintage one would be so much more charming!

The cake carrier is gorgeous and ever so better than the Tupperware container that does indeed look pretty sad after awhile. I'm going off to find a pretty cake carrier like yours--thanks for sharing your pictures and the idea.
Posted by: Junie Moon | October 26, 2007 at 12:25 PM
That's so awesome! While out thrifting, I found a metal cake carrier, top only...I never picked it up because I don't have a bottom anywhere. Yours is pretty, though, this one was just plain stainless. Still had a very vintage-y look, though!
Posted by: Devilish Southern Belle | October 26, 2007 at 12:53 PM
Kim! That is the cutest thing. I've never seen one like it before. Are you trying to make me go back to "those thrift stores" and keep looking!? :)
I think, other than your own sis, I live the closest! I love chocolate please. What time?
