I'm feeling tired, are you? I hope you are having alot more energy. Maybe it is because it is STILL so hot here, or maybe it is because of all that partying over at Karla's! ;-) Thank you VERY much for your sweet comments below and I'm so glad that many of you had the chance to visit her and the others who joined in the fun. I know I enjoyed visiting some new homes that I hadn't been to before! So many wonderful things to see!
I showed a glimpse of my new white daisy apron in the last post and here are a few more pictures of it. Sweet little pocket and trim - and in perfect vintage condition! I found this on Ebay and just couldn't resist it.
I also had the chance to visit Goodwill yesterday and brought home these simple, plain dishes -
Plain and simple are good, but the addition of the green floral plate and the teacup make things a bit sweeter, I think -
It really is so much fun to collect dishes with different colors and patterns, because when you bring them home and open your cupboard, you get to create a whole new setting that you won't see at anyone else's table. If you can, try the mix and matching approach when collecting your china - the combinations are endless.
And speaking of simple, cracker anyone?
I love mixing china/dishes/glassware and silverware. It is much more fun, unique and down right pretty isn't it? I always adore the tableware you choose...these white and yellow items are just right and the tea cup? Precious!
Hugs,
Sue

I agree Kim! It is hard for me to pass up vintage china and glassware. Somehow it just works. I can't even pass by the ones that have little nicks in them. I figure I can use them to hold a candle or rings or something.

Love the yellow plate and the white and green one. I'm tired too, Kim. But the doctors tell me I have some mysterious condition called fibromyalgia, so I guess that's the culprit here. It's s drag. Hope you feel better soon.

Dear Kim, thanks for admitting that you get TIRED! You have such a full life with ideas spinning around your head all the time, it's no wonder you need some R & R! I find that the change of seasons beings on tiredness, too. Hurahh for Goodwill, though! For just a few bucks you can pick up delightful bargains that bring a smile to your face. Happy hunting!! Have a great weekend.

Good Morning Kim!
More delightful finds! Doesn't the white seem so soothing in our heat while we dream of fall? That apron is just special.
Those dishes would go fabulously with all of mine. :)
Tired? I need a nap right now after not being able to sleep until one and then waking up at 6! I don't like this part of life changing.
So good to come by and see you today. Have a most wonderful weekend.

Your right it is the heat. It has been hot and humid here..very unusual this time of year. I was dragging. Today it's cool sunny and not one bit humid! I've been running around with all kinds of energy. I lived in Fl for a few years and never got used to the heat. I'm always amazed older people can handle it..I whine nonstop. Well your finds are beautiful! What a pretty place setting. The green with the yellow is so calming.
Best,
Kathy

That apron is beautiful. There is something about white that just says clean and fresh.

When collecting dishes, I am trying to get one place setting of each pattern I like. Do you do this, or just mix and match everything? I don't like everything matchy-matchy, but I don't seem to be able to pull off mismatched within place settings. Everyone else does it so much better!

I love the mix'n match approach.
It makes life so much more interesting and fun!

I am so tired, too! You and I will see fall arrive here soon! U;n counting on it. Everyone will want to be where we are when their harsh winters come ;-) Right now I'm enjoying relaxing by reading your blog.
I don't see a single item from your thrifting that I wouldn't have put in my basket. Great finds and I love the colors. I wish my Goodwill store priced as low as yours does!
I can just see you wearing your darling apron while you bake up some of your banana bread, but don't get any batter on it. It's too pretty!

Don't you just love the fun things at the Goodwill??!!! Hope you are resting up!

I was delighted to see your "vintage" yellow plate! When I got married 27 years ago, that set of dishes was what we chose for our everyday dishes. I ordered them from the Sears catalog. I only have a few pieces left, but I still love the color and the simplicity. Enjoy!
